Retrieve Lost .mdb After Reinstalling Xp Mode In Windows 7?
Sep 10, 2011
I was having problems getting virtual xp mode to boot on my windows 7 computer. I deleted windows xp mode and reinstalled it. I was then able to open xp mode but when I opened Acess 2003 and looked for my database for my business It seemed to have disappeared. Did searches in xp mode, on windows 7 in all drives.
windows xp mode not working properly. When reinstalling it says "windows xp mode already installed". I cant install the virtual pc associated with XP Mode.
I just partitioned my C drive and now have an I: drive that I use for data, music and movies and such. My question is this: if I have to do a system recovery. Will I lose that partition? Or will Windows 7 re-install on the C: drive without touching that partition?
I had a friend help install windows, back then I was clueless about the whole deal with achi and ide. A while later, I had to switch hard drives just to run some tests, and the computer wouldnt but, even after putting the original back in.
Turns out BIOS had set itself to ACHI, not allowing windows to boot. Switching it to IDE made it work.
Now I bought an SSD, and its not quite detecting. Im also hearing ACHI is much faster than IDE, so I want to just spend time and switch over.
How would I go about reinstalling windows as ACHI? I have an installation disk and everything. I've already started backing up files to leave the boot disk empty and ready to roll.
I have Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron 1545. Most of the time when I put my laptop to sleep and restart it Wifi network connectivity is lost and I have to click the 'Wifi Signal' icon in the system taskbar and click on my network name and click connect to regain connectivity. I have gone to 'Power Management' tab and cleared 'Allow Windows to turn off this device to save power' option as suggested by most posts but it has done nothing to help me. But sometimes even after a long sleep the laptop immediately connects back to the network and sometimes even if I just close the lid and open it after a few seconds network connectivity is lost.
I am using Acer Travelmate 8204WLMi laptop running the latest RC build of Windows 7. The internet connection is lost on both LAN adapter and WLAN (3945ABG) adapter when laptop is restored from a 'sleep' mode. I have disabled 'Power Management' of each adapter via the Device Manager. I have updated to the latest set of updates.
Disabling and re-enabling LAN or WLAN adapter to restore connectivity does not work (as it does in Win-XP). I have tried to 'log off' and log back in but this does not work either. I have discovered that the only way to restore connectivity is to re-boot the laptop.
It would appear that there is an issue of the Windows 7 code to correctly manage the LAN/ WLAN adapters. Has anyone else come across this problem?
I am familiar with System Restore, selecting earlier times, and the often-available option of undoing a System Restore. But I found out (too late) that according to Microsoft, System Restore done in Safe Mode is not able to be undone.I lost 1,000's of photos doing the system restore, now the only restore point option visible is what I believe to be the new one after I did the restore. Prior to me doing the System Restore, there were a number of times from me to choose from, I just chose one that was 10 days ago. Is there any software, method, or hack that I can use or do to recover the thousands of photos that were on my desktop and that were in folders on my desktop? It's a 1 TB HD?
I saw thread on similar problem and mentioned I need to make sure services.msc -> Virtual Disk Service (VDS) to automatic and started. I made this change and click the install again. The same message shown again. After message the VDS will stopped. I can restart and try install again. no luck.I also try sfc/scannow and no luck.My laptop is HP dv2000.
I lost my win 7 product key and need to find a trustworthy product key recovery program, I heard of the magical jellybean one but it's hard for me to take it serious, usually programs with ridiculous names have screwed me in the past. I am half-expecting it to send my product key to the dude who made the software. Anyways, what's a good software to recover my product key for win 7? It's all legit but I just lost my cd/case/key sticker.
I haven't used my Hotmail account for a few years and just recently I have started to receive calendar alerts. The problem is; I can't remember my Live ID or password as it was s o long ago. My question is; what can I do to delete the account given that I can't access it?
I have a computer that someone put a clean copy of Windows 7 and previously it was windows xp. We did a back-up before the computer was wiped up. (programs - Accesories - back-up/restore) in windows 7, you have to got to the control pannel, but it does not pick up the back up. I used an external hard drive.
I know how to obtain the current day's history, but am keen to know if it's possible to do this for the previous day/s? I'm just lazy in not wanting to go through 50 audio files (radio shows) to find the exact one I played yesterday.I'm using Win 7 fully updated.
I have Asus laptop with OEM Windows 7 HomeP 64bit on it, I installed Ubuntu 12.04 along side with Windows 7, didn't know that Ubuntu will be the main boot, I used Ubuntu 11.10 a year a go and Windows was my main boot, I tired several way to retrieve Windows 7 as main boot but didn't work.I tried to fully recover Windows, but when finished I get black screen with "getgrub error" now recovery doesn't work any more.I want to get rid of Ubuntu for ever, how? without losing my genuine Windows 7
On my older Gateway pc had Vista 64 installed and purchase the Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade but now I built a new pc and installed the WIN 7 OS on my new system but am getting some hiccups with the software (i.e. access denied when I try to change the parameter of a process>even though I'm login as an admin, or updating drivers>MS states their drivers are better even though they are older and a few critical errors in even viewer>DCOM, NTFS file structure)so spoke to MS and they stated to do a clean install of WIN 7, either I resinstall the earlier OS version (Vista) then upgrade it to Windows 7 but if I just want to install the Windows 7 then I need to purchase the full version of it which if at all possible I would rather not since the upgrade cost me $240 in february. I know there used to be away to retrieve the OS of the OEM CD and install it without the OEM apps/drivers/junk software. On my 2 recovery DVD, there are some WIM files starting with Base.dat thru Base5.wmi files. Can I just copy/burn those files onto a dvd and install it or is it more complex nowadays?
I have a HP Touchsmart 300-1060a (Home Premium Windows 7 64 BIT) which I bought few years back. Now for the last 6 months or so I started getting issues with my machine was not displaying anything at all after turning it on. So I had to hard reset my power from the machine and then was able to see it started displaying again. At first I suspected graphic card (NVIDIA GEFORCE) but then I did my diagnostic test and nothing was found. One day, I started re-imaging my machine as a fresh and then after this it never came back ONLINE. I read all HP forums & even HP Online support was unable to help me to find the cause.Because when I turn on my machine I can see the power light was on and could hear big fan noise but mo HDD activity at all.So at this stage, I suspected either motherboard or BIOS but wasn't 100% sure what could be the real cause because I was sure it was not due to graphic card.So first I re-setted by my BIOS to see if it helps but it didn't came up at all. So then I took my machine to a Computer repair shop (a friend of mine) and we detected it could be due to the regulator which supplies power to the CPU and motherboard. So we replaced that part and now my HP Touchsmart is running fin since then. But I have lost my HP Startup logo with options such as below: [code]
My husband and I just bought a Dell Inspiron with Windows 7 Home on it. He bought it for use at work, and when he took it to work, they upgraded it to Windows 7 Professional. I don't know who they had working on this, but it seems that they didn't make a back-up of anything first, and my husband doesn't know enough about computers to have thought to make one, and he didn't realize that the people doing this to his computer might just not know what they were doing. Anyway, EVERYTHING he had on the computer before is GONE...right down to the drivers for the wireless and the BLU-ray disc drive. I can put that stuff back, but he had also just finished writing a sermon on the computer, and that's gone too, of course. A lot of work that unfortunately he didn't save anywhere else.

How can retrieve my previous files that I had before installing the CD?
Is it possible to retrieve conversations made using MSN messenger and if so how? I dont have messenger as an application on my desktop rather I use messenger by signing into my hotmail where there is the option to then in turn sign into messenger at the top of the screen.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium, 32bit. I used System Tools and did a Disk Cleanup. However, when I tried to boot it up after the process, it asked for my Administrator Password. Why we have to have an Administrator User Account, I have no idea--especially when you can't get into it. I don't remember putting a password on for the Administrator Account. I have another User Account that I can get on the computer with, but I have pictures, videos, documents, etc. on the Administrator Account that I now cannot recover. Is there anything I can do, other than reinstalling Windows?
Initially i was using windows7 later i have installed windows server 2003 in the different drive but after installation my system is directly booting into windows server without showing me the selection option. But the windows 7 disk is not deleted at contains all the files.show me the solution to retrieve the OS at the time of booting with deleting the Windows 7 because it contains many installed s/w files like SAP.
when I opened Microsoft office this morning to finish my resume. The box came up asking me if I wanted to replace and save. Not thinking I hit replace. Now my document is gone because I replaced it with a blank page. I have performed all the searches such as wbk, tmp, autorecovery.
