Windows 7 :: Restore Kodak Easy Share M83 Program?

I changed the default program used to open RAR files from 7Zip to Windows Explorer, and now I can't change it back, When I right-click on a RAR file and click Properties, the "Change..." option isn't there to the right of "Opens with:" And when I go to Start > Default Programs > Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program, RAR files don't appear in the list.

Cannot Update Or Uninstall Program - System Restore Does Not Work

Ever since I removed some malware I cannot run a program that is vital to my job. It tries to do a software update (which it does periodically) and encounters this error: "Message 0x1047 in SUBVMCHK Another application is in the process of updating. Please wait while this update completes." I click ok and the program shuts down. I cannot uninstall the program (I get error 1060). Is there a registry key missing? Earliest system restore does not work.

Backup & Restore System And Program Files To A New OS Install

I recently purchased a new Toshiba 1tb HDD. My old WD 1tb HDD has been giving me trouble of late. I occasionally get the BSOD. Also, on occasion, when I reboot the computer it automatically runs the chkdsk program and reports several bad clusters. However the chkdsk program never seems to flag the bad clusters, so periodically, when I reboot, it runs and reports them again.

I would like to image or backup all of the files on my problem HDD, then do a fresh install of Win 7 Ultimate 64bit (my current OS) to the new HDD, then restore the cloned or image system and program files to the new HDD. I don't want to have to go through the process of reinstalling everything again, when everything seems to be working okay. Since the Win 7 image program makes and exact image of the HDD, then to use that program would cause the new install of Win 7 Ultimate 64bit to be overwritten by the image restore. Therefore, if there should be corrupt data under a bad cluster from the old HDD, that data would not be transferred and my existing problem would be transferred to the new HDD.

On the other hand, if I do a disk clone, I am not sure that the existing programs would continue to operate on the new HDD, and would require a fresh install of each program after the fresh install of the Win 7 OS! I would have then wasted my time doing a transfer of program/data files to my newly formatted and freshly installed OS.

Does anyone know of any program (Acronis True Image, Paragon, Norton Ghost, Macrium Reflect, etc.) that will let you image or clone the program and data (incuding the necessary operational files such as: Win32 system files, activation files, etc.) so that they will work correctly on the fresh install of the OS?

I use whs (both 2003 and 2011) to backup my Windows 7 media server, have several cablecard tuners, but if I ever need to restore (from earlier version) or even re-format this computer, recorded programs will not play again (cannot play recordings from another computer is the message). Any way of save/restore the current drm info before I restore from earlier version or even re-format????? Screen capture programs are crap.

Support is worth half of the product. Anyone using Kodak AIO Home Center? It loads fine, creates the printer and sets it as default. The Home Center seems to work well but doesn't actually print anything, printing from applications crashed explorer and/or the application. I've tried setting it up in compatibility mode.

Since my kitty was kind enough to bite thru the power supply cable on my HP printer, I'm going to hook up my spare printer, a Kodak 5100, until I can get a new cable. The Kodak website doesn't list this model as being compatible with Windows 7 & I'd rather not waste time trying to install it if it won't even work. I cannot scan, either from the computer or from the Kodak ESP 9 AIO printer. Have spent days chatting with a technician to no avail. I have re-installed the software, after deleting it, a number of times. Finally, I called on the phone today. Although this technician had access to the chat notes we did the installs again. Either they don't know their product or I have a hardware problem although the scanner bed moves and I can make copies OK. Is there anything I can do further?

I have a Kodak Hero 3.1 connected to my Motorola Surfboard SBG8560 modem/wireless router. It connects fine and I can find the printer and even print hen my computer is connected to Ethernet but not when I switch over to wifi.
