View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a new laptop with Windows 7. I have thoasands od photos and many home movies stored on USB sticks. Problem is when I plug it in there is no option to select which files I would like to copy. I have looked in the settings and can not find the option, it just copies all which I don't want that.
It also saves them by date and not in the named files I have them in on the key.The same with my camera, I use photos for Ebay and on XP would select the ones I wanted, saved to a file and then could easily adjust them. Now it just wants to copy them all. Also can you suggest a user friendly program for adjusting my photos.
new photos go to camera roll instead of photostream?

I've loaded WET onto my old machine and followed the instructions but when I enter the transfer key I get the message: WET can't connect to your other computer - to complete the connection , you might need to install the latest version of WET...My McAfee network map on my new laptop shows my old PC as being connected and online.

Will the programs from the 32bit work in the 64bit comp.? I'm thinking of using Acronis True Image Home 2011.I was given a newer desktop minus the HD and was going to retire my old desktop and I wanted what was on the old comp(32bit) transfered to the new (64bit) tower.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem getting Media Center to display my Photos showing the individual photos contents of each folder.I am running Windows 7 HP 64 bit with all updates. My MEDIA (movies, music & photos) are on a separate hdd (M). Each of the media formats has it's own folder on the M drive, Movies, Music & Photos. I have no problem with the movies or the music. However, when I choose "pictures" in Windows Media Center only the individual photos folders are shown....no photos are shown in these folders. I see the individual folders but no contents. I have set up "Libraries" on the C: drive; Music, Video & Photos. When I click on photos in the "Libraries" all the photos folders are show each with it's own photos. I have "Shared" these libraries as well as each folder on the Media drive M. The format of the individual photos is jpg. I have run SFC/Scannow.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFinally time to replace my Dell desktop running XP Home with an HP desktop with Windows 7. What is the best way to transfer files, pictures, music, contacts, etc. from XP to Windows 7? My email and contacts are currently in Outlook. I don't know what email program to use on the new computer since I bought the Student and family version of Microsoft and I don't think it includes Outlook.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Lenovo laptop with Windows 7. I have an old Dell Inspiron laptop with Windows XP. I realize I need to move my Firefox bookmarks and MS Office Outlook address book to the new computer.
1. How do I do this?
2. Are there any other files or info I should transfer?
I'm trying to avoid losing anything if the old laptop dies (no signs, just old). I store all my program backups, pictures and documents on a portable hard drive and cds.
3. Should I be doing more? I notice my Lenovo automatically backs up every day.
if I move an OEM windows 7 to another computer (with a program like windows 7 system preparation tool and I believe that can be done) I understand I may lose windows activation. What I would like to know is if I do, could it be restored (activation) using a program such as "advanced tokens manager".

View 2 Replies View Relatedbasically I just got a new computer, and would like to transfer my minesweeper records from my old computer to my new one. Both are running the same Windows 7 x64. The reason I want to transfer is because I became RIDICULOUSLY good with my old laptop, and will never come close with my new one (different mouse styles). I mostly played easy, but I became damn good at it. I had a 95% win rate over 10,000 games, which is ridiculous considering the number of no-win games. I also had my top 5 times at under 2 seconds, with an extremely rare one-click win top time of 0 (shows up as 1) seconds.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I do a large file transfer or multiple file transfers my computer gets extremely slow during the process. Slow meaning that to open the web browser it struggles and while typing search terms in google there is lag. That's just one example, other's being opening programs.Last night I reformatted my computer because I thought maybe it had something to do with it. But no luck because after the clean install was complete I transferred about 600gb back on the computer and during this process tried to view the properties xpadder (Right click-> Properties) and the entire system froze. A hard reset and I started the process all over again, tried watching tv using windows media center and it worked but flipping through channels was extremely slow and it is not usually.

I think my hardware is more than capable:
Windows 7 x64
8gb of Ram
1tb WD Caviar Black
ATI Radeon 4890
Gigabye P55-UD6 rev1.0
Enermax Modu 82+
Corsair H50
Some background info:
I originally had my computer overclocked but after a Bios upgrade I couldn't get the same results so It is currently stock speed. Computer is only a year old. Running temps are around 40-45C. Harddrive temps are normal (40-48C). I have completed a full check disk and monitor the harddrive with CrystalDisk Info (SMART Utility) and it seems 100%.
I just upgraded to an Verizon LG Octane...I was told by the sales person that I can transfer pictures , text messages from mye-mail to my phone...how do you do this? View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been downloading pictures to Facebook, Walgreens, and Shutterfly for 3 years with no problems. All of a sudden I can not upload any pictures! I had no difficulties downloading them from my memory card to my computer and I can view them just fine. When I go to upload them it will let me select the pictures I want and start the process, but then just keep "loading" or "thinking" for hours if I would let it. It will not upload even one photo.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a newer computer (HP Pavilion Slimline) with Windows 7 and 64bit system. My old hard drive is out of a dead (won't power up) HP Pavilion Slimline Vista 32bit. I pulled the old drive and connected it through a harness and the USB on the new computer. When I open the devices and printers program the old drive is there but when I open the icon all I get is the properties etc. but no way to access any data on the old drive. Do I need a program or is the drive dead? It powers and runs and when it is connected and I open the properties I'm told the old drive is working properly.
