No Internet Access, But Can Ping Router Via LAN
Feb 23, 2012I reinstalled windows 7 home premium on my notebook, and downloaded the NIC & other necessary drivers from the manufacturer's website. I have no other software on the N/B. When I connect the LAN cable I can successfully ping my router, but not www.google.com. I can see the other PC's on the network. The icon on the bottom right shows a yellow triangle and I have no internet access. I have an automatic IP & DNS server set in the IPv4 & v6. I have a desktop PC running Windows 7 on the network that connects to the internet with the router.
I can't understand how a newly formatted PC struggles to connect to the internet (via LAN), when my username & password is already setup on my router.

Packard Bell, i5 430M, 4GB RAM, 640GB HDD, ATi Radeon HD5650 VGA, W7HP 64

Feb 25, 2012This afternoon, I first found that ie8 stopped working, but chrome was still good. So, I restart the machine. I cannot get access to any websites any more even my router's admin page.
I can ping Google etc without any problem. There are another two PCs behind my router and they have no problem. The problematic PC has no problem accessing files intranet, remote desktop, ftp. I tried toggling DHCP, changing IPs, Firewalls, no luck.

Jan 3, 2013I have a problem with my wireless internet card (Qualcomm Atheros Ar9485). It has trouble connecting to websites. Speed and ping is fine, but it is the connecting that often fails. I have done tests on my other computer and on my iPad, and everything works fine. I know that there is something wrong with the wifi card, because when I plug in my ethernet cable, everything works fine. My wifi drivers are up to date. I can still browse the web wirelessly, but 30-60% of the time, the connecting fails. I have had this kind of issue before (All browser slow/not loading pages) and I got the problem solved by switching wifi channels.

- Disable, then enable my wireless card and reconnect.
- Uninstall the card, then re-install and reconnect.
- Disconnect from the internet myself and reconnect.
Either way it gets super frustrating. There is 1 other computer plugged directly into the router that does not experience any issues. In addition, I have 1 laptop (windows 7) that works great and 1 laptop (Windows XP) which works great.

Jul 1, 2011When my computer says Internet Access, I am having trouble browsing.Most pages do not load.Right now, It says no internet access for over 15 minutes and I am able to brose so much better and still going on downloading around 400 kb/s.(I am on a wired connection from a cable internet with NetGear CGD24G Cable Modem (I don't think it is a wireless router). There is wireless connection on the modem, but I am on a wired connection, and I am posting this while it still says no internet access).

Nov 17, 2011i recieved my new lenovo z570 ideapad yesterday...i'll just put some of the spec down incase you want to know.
proccessor: intel i5 (second gen)
graphics: nvidia geforce
os: windows 7 64bit
yadayadayada...
anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.
1) there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter
there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!

Feb 1, 2013I have a Dell Inspiron N5110, Intel core 3 processor, and Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit os. I have recently reinstalled windows 7 from the windows 8 os. I can't access my wireless internet, I can only get to the internet via hard wire. I have searched Dell and Intel for the network controller driver and the sm bus controller driver, but to no avail.

No Internet Access Message When Internet Is Available
Aug 26, 2009This is a problem that has probably been solved but I have spent some time looking for the solution without success.
Windows 7 (6.1.7100 build 7100) indicates that I have no Internet connection in spite of the fact that I can browse without any problems (see attached image).
Mostly this is not a problem except that I want to connect to an external server to upload files. Normally I use map network drive for this. When I attempt this, I fail because it doesn't see the Internet connection.
I have tried the following solutions which haven't worked
Disabling link scanning in AVG Disabling all other network connections
Internet Wireless Connection "connects" But No Internet Access

I then had the bright idea of installing a wired router so two computers could access the internet at the same time.Obviously I did something wrong because the while the original computer now continues to access the internet through the modem just fine (I removed the router), after reconnecting my computer to the modem and resetting the modem all I can use is IE8.

Mar 21, 2012A couple days ago, I grudgingly allowed someone to install Norton on my desktop computer. It's running Windows 7, fyi. Immediatly after it was installed, I was unable to connect to the internet. It can find my router, and it tells me I'm connected, but with limited access, and all it says is identifying. So I can't get onto the internet. I tried the troubleshooter built into Windows 7, and it told me there isn't a problem. I tried to system restore back to before I installed Norton, and I tried two or three times, and it failed everytime. I tried to return my windows firewall to its recommened settings, and it said it can't change some of my settings. My computer is the only device having the problem, which led me to believe it was Norton's fault. So I uninstalled Norton, and it didn't fix the problem. I tried to use a network cable to share the internet connnection from my laptop (which works fine), and it had the same problem as when I tried wirelessly.
I tried reseting my TCP/IP stack, and that didn't work. I'm not sure what I should do. I'd be grateful for any insights you might have =DNorton also found 6 high level trojans, apparently, which it promptly got rid of, so the problem could be that it messed up one of my system 32 files, but I don't have a windows disk lying around to repair with, so I was hoping to try some other fixes before I go out and buy a new disk
No Internet Access Unless ?
Sep 13, 2012This is the 3rd laptop this month that has had this issue. When I boot up, I have no internet access, wireless or wired, but when I go into Safemode, everything is fine. I have already done the basic steps, you know, the troubleshooter, Malwarebytes(found nothing) and I do have a HijackThis log file if you want it. Anyway, the first 2 machines, I formatted them to fix the issue, but now that I have a 3rd one with the issue, I would like to get to the bottom of it!
