View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been using my pc lately and iv been getting the driver power stat failure alot lately and what happens is my internet goes out and when I shut down it takes at least 5 minutes until it goes BSOD and the error message appears can some one help me with this and tell me how to fix it as soon as possible because this has been going on for a while and I want it to stop.
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy computer did have BSOD problem since I've tried to add 2 GB of RAM on my Windows XP SP 3 on October 2011. BSOD came out after playing a game for 6-30 minutes (or game application crashed) or viewing a video (random occurence). After getting no results of all to cure BSOD, I decided to change my OS to Windows 7 and I still got this problem. I've tried to bring my CPU to service center with no luck at all.
Here, I attached my recent dump and perfmon report with it. Although a few hours before I post this thread, I cleaned earlier dumps with CCleaner. I'll be sure to attach new dump and report if another BSOD occurs. And let me know if my attached files get corrupted or cannot be read. Attachment 214777 Attachment 214778
Oh yeah, another thing, my antivirus scanner detected BSOD & System File Collection app as a virus, so I ignored it.
So my computer spec is :
Windows 7 x86 Ultimate
Intel Core2Duo CPU E4600 @ 2.40 Ghz
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SE
I am having a problem while playing movies in AVI format. Video stop for a couple of seconds after every 3 or 5 minutes. My drivers are up-to-date. Having a laptop with high specifications...so no problem about low specifications and same movies run perfectly on other laptops.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with Battlefield 3, Counter Strike Source and other games minimizing within 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay. The game is still running but I can not maximize it. This is a nonstop issue and I have not been able to play any games for longer then 5 to 10 minutes.I recently built this desktop computer a couple of days ago. AMD 6200 6 core, MSI G70 mobo, g skill 2x 8gb memory, two MSI R6850 Cyclone OC in Crossfire mode and a tagan 1100 watt PSU.I have tried using original drivers, updated drivers, disabling windows aero, stopping start up programs, running registry cleaners, diagnostics, everything.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy recently purchased Laptop, a Lenovo IdeaPad v570 (1066CLU), has been having problems with the display driver. After a minute or so of gameplay using the NVIDIA driver, my audio starts to stutter for a few seconds, and finally, it blue screens with "Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed", and something about nvlddmkm.sys. Sometimes the BSoD doesn't even show up. I tried downgrading to the Lenovo recommended driver from the latest build, but I'm still having the same issue. On some occasions, it doesn't BSoD, so I can alt-tab and see the message:"Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered".Even if games are running smoothly, they still have issues. One example is Team Fortress 2, but If I disable the NVIDIA driver in Device Manager, the Intel one works fine, with a worse framerate. Pretty weird. I have both the Intel HD Graphics 3000 and GeForce 525M driver versions supplied by the manufacturer (Lenovo).
View 4 Replies View RelatedFirst off lemme give you a few specs of my computer in case you can determine right off what the problem is
Gateway - model GT5656
AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3GHz
3GB RAM
GeForece 8600 GT graphics
Wide screen HD monitor currently at 1440 x 900 resolution
Okay now the problem is when i play Crysis even on MEDIUM i get laggy/choppy gameplay and i checked the fps (this was a long time ago) i don't remember what they were but just that they were skipping around. I don't know that much about gaming but i figured more ram might help, plus i wanted more ram regardless because my downloads are only like 400kb/s.
I already ordered enough ram so that my total will be 6GB. Yes i know that i will have to take the other stick out bla bla bla i already calculated that. I'm not 100% sure how good quality it is but this is what i bought: 2GB PC4200 533MHz DDR2 SINGLE STICK 2GB PC-2 4200 RAM - eBay (item 130315129371 end time Jul-26-09 01:02:12 PDT)
Anyways getting to the point, tomorrow i will have enough to buy another one of those to have a total of 7GB ram is it worth it? will a 1GB increase even help that much? (and yes I'm running 64 bit)
I currently have it set to turn off my displays at 3 minutes of inactivity, and put the computer to sleep after 10 minutes.Sometimes, the displays won't turn off after 3 minutes, but it will then put the computer to sleep after 10 minutes while the displays are still on. More often, it will turn the displays off, but won't ever put the computer to sleep. Why wouldn't the computer go to sleep?Wouldn't any activity turn the displays back on? And so if they don't come back on, why wouldn't it go to sleep?why wouldn't the displays turn off, and then it goes to sleep?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been receiving is that, whenever I try to shut down my computer, it will go to the 'shutting down' screen as usual, bu the shutting down would stay there forever, and does not do anything. This results into shutting down the computer manually by pressing the power button on the CPU. It is very frustrating because when this occurs, it gives off further errors and computer becomes abit unstable. The next time I had logged in (today) I received the folliwing message upon windows starting up. This message happens to ocur after the pc was shut down manually.

The issue is that any time I play ANY game, when I try to shut down the computer, it stays at the "Shutting Down" phase forever and then after 15-20+ min, sometimes it re-starts itself. Of note, is that when this happens and I manually shut the computer off, and turn it back on I get a "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" message. and the error ID is BlueScreen-something.
This does NOT occur when I use the PC for anything else such as browsing the internet. No matter what game it is, any time I play a game (not counting minesweeper, solitaire, etc), the computer will not shut down. All drivers seem to be up to date. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
While waiting for my new netword card, I was using a USB cable to operate my temporary cable modem (Motrola Surfboard). I installed the drivers right from the CD and it worked well for a day or so until it randomly stopped working. I also couldn't shut down the computer as it would just hang there but I was able to shut down just fine the day before (With the Surfboard plugged in).Now that I have my new NIC installed, I can browse just fine, but I'm unable to shut down without it restarting on me. Meaning I have to hold the power button.I'm using my old cable modem and connected via ethernet. Also, I'm using a new keyboard which is also connected via USB.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Win 7 64-bit on my new system, and I've noticed that the HDD LED constantly chatters. It never goes even a second without some disk activity.
I can't compare this to XP, because my XP machine doesn't have an HDD LED (or it's broken, or it's not wired, whatever). My XP HDD is 8 years old and still going strong, though; and that's the sort of reliability I'd like in my new system. That's 8 years of almost 24/7.
In the Win 7 resource monitor, there's usually a bunch of processes using the disk; but if I remain quiet, the long term steady state comes down to NLS and System processes. I can (and may) disable NLS, but I can't disable System. If I suspend NLS when System is the only other process shown, then the disk usage graph clears, but the HDD LED flickering continues. If I suspend System, the LED flickering stops, but then I suffer the predictable consequences.
Not entirely related, I also noticed that early on, for the first several minutes after boot, I get a considerable number of page faults. Seems kind of silly since my RAM usage never goes over 15%, but it's not problematic. The page faults do cease eventually.
My questions are these:
1. Is this constant chatter a Win 7 thing, or does XP do this also?
2. Does anyone have insight as to why the System process would be constantly accessing the HDD and/or how I can stop it from doing so?
3. Since the I/O graph may be cleared (with patience), even though the LED activity continues, is it reasonable to believe that the LED activity is just a tease and no actual I/O is happening at that time?
Unfortunately this contributor is untracesble. All I remember was this: Press start > Press control panel> From here on I cannot for the life of me remember what steps
View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from windows xp to windows 7 ultimate 32bit the other day, and every time I start up the computer, it works fine for 15 minutes and then just crashes. It's not a BSOD, it's just a screen with lines all in it. The screens are different usually every time it crashes. Also, after it crashes I have to manually turn it off then back on.I didn't think this could be a virus.. it's a clean install of windows.I've added a picture of what it looks like in the attachments.

But problem was still same. After that all, my pc just start freezing after a few minutes on desktop and begin autorestarting.I tried to uninstall GPU drivers in Safe Mode, but theres same problem. Also I tried to use "last good known condition" but problem is same.I also used MemTest, 2x pass, no errors, and also no errors in HD Tune..
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate right frm the time it got released. But, after i formatted my HD this time.. My windows gets locked automatically after few minutes. Now, i have no clue why is it happening only this time.
I am running the computer as adminstrator and have no password. The power settings are on High.
When I boot windows 7 it gets to the blue window stating windows 7 home premium and stays there for about 5 minutes without doing anything then it will finally boot on up.

-Power management
Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and it shut down once and went back to same problem.
I haven't used this computer in about a month, but it doesn't shut off/restart when I start windows 7. It just says "computer is shutting down" and stays that way. A few things:
- I put my flashdrive in the usb and left it in today, but had the same problem without the flashdrive
- It will shut off at the log in screen, but that is it.
I have a three month old HP DV7-3085dx which suddenly stopped shutting down correctly. I hangs at the "shutting down" screen. I have to power it down manually to shut it off then of course I get the message that windows shut down incorrectly. I'm at my wits end with this. Today I restored the laptop for the fourth time back to when it was new. I used Mozbackup and even that didn't work with the Thunderbird backup so I lost all my contacts. It worked fine with the Firefox backup. I'm attaching the file that was in the minidump directory as several other posters were instructed to do.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running windows 7 64 bit on my desktop PC. I have had it for...something like a year and a half now. And just in the last couple weeks I have suddenly had this problem. The issue is that my Windows apparently cannot shut down properly. It shuts down, there is no hanging up or anything. Any time I shut down or restart, it goes to the blue "Shutting Down" screen and message, the cursor does it's rotating "timing" thing, and then the system shuts down. But when it restarts, I get the "Windows did not shut down successfully" and it asks me if I want to start in one of the safe mode variations, or to start normally. Every single time. Windows shuts down, but then restarts and tells me it did not shut down properly. And many changes I made before shutting down were not retained, but some are. For example, I patched a game, and that information was retained on restart. But I moved some desktop icons around, bookmarked some pages in Firefox, closed Firefox pages, changed msconfig for a clean boot, and none of those changes were retained.
I have gotten a screen freeze and BSOD a couple of times in the last few weeks as well, but only a couple of times, while the "failure to shut down properly" problem happens with every single shutdown and restart I do.
I'm losing my mind a bit here. The only real practical problem it's causing me at the moment is that every time I restart my computer, I have to rearrange my desktop icons, and every time I open Firefox, it wants to restore a session I had closed and exited from, and I can't bookmark any websites. It's annoying, but doesn't keep me from functioning.
I have an issue with my computer and Window 7 that I was hoping you could provide insight on how to fix. Recently I have noticed that Windows 7 doesn't want to shut down. Heck, it doesn't even restart and Hibernate. When I go to Shut down the only option it provides is Log Off. You can shut down after the the computer Logs Off my account, but this wasn't the case before.
I also feel it might be important to note that the computer prevents me from entering the Task Manager and Ctrl- Alt- Del no longer does anything. Is this an issue with the OS or could this be something like a Virus.
