Network Controller Option With An Exclamation Point
Jul 25, 2012
i recently reinstalled windows 7 home premium 64 bit on to my Dell laptop and now my WLAN is not working, when I try and change adapter settings I see no wireless option. pressing the on/off key for wireless has no effect and when I look into my devices, I see my network controller option with an exclamation point.
I recently noticed that many of my desktop icons (jpgs, pdfs) have a red circle with a white exclamation point and the system is running slow. I googled this and the only posts I could find relate to computers that use backup software, which I don't. Ever heard of this? I made a little screen grab which follows. The files can be viewed and edited but these flags can be seen throughout the system using Explorer
When I enter device manager I see the Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller with an orange explanation mark next to it. I need to get drivers for it where can I get them from (windows could not get any). Also im on my newly buily gaming pc on windows professional 64 bit.
I have a Asus Xonar DG audio device, but no sound. No sound at all. When I go to my device manager, yellow exclamation points are on my Asus Xonar and on RAID controller. Asus says driver is current. AMD High Def audio device is not disabled, should it be? If I disable it would I have sound? I have to listen to 4 hrs of video for work so I have to have sound back up asap.
After I restart the pc, 9 times out of 10 i get a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark over my network icon. When i go over it, it says I'm connected to the network but i have "no internet access" EVEN THOUGH I'm online and i am able to browse the web and download freely.
I updated my drivers, and still nothing, i also have the latest bios version. I tried asking on a couple other forums but it seems they are a bunch of amateurs...so i came here.
I have Windows 7 ultimate x64. When I installed it and system started first time, everything was fine, network was working great and I had internet access. After first restart and every time I start my computer I get very serious problem with network! First 5 seconds it is ok but then I get yellow exclamation mark on network icon in systrey and it says no internet access(!) also "Local Area Connection Status" looks like this:
after this my suffer starts: several network Disabling/Enabling, cable Unplugging/Plugging, modem reseting and after 10-15 minutes I get internet access...
For the past few days, I have been on a intermittent wireless connection. Under the wireless network icon, there's an ! mark, I tried to solve it using Microsoft diagnosis, but it didn't work. I switched off Microsoft Miniport Adapter too, didn't work as well. I Pinged my own connection using Command Prompt and the results were fine. For a limited random number of sites, I am still able to access. I tried Torrenting and it still works too.
My Toshiba Satillite L655-s5153 Laptop doesn't reconize the ethernet port when I plug in my wireless router to the ehternet port. How can this be fixed? I have no internet connection.

I am having a hard time configuring my Access point. I have a DSL Router connected to our telephone line and it works fine wirelessly, Yesterday I purchased TP LINK Router to configure as Access Point to extend wireless signal up to the second floor. Now, I am wondering, should I do some re-configuration on my DSL Router before configuring my TP Link Router? Guys, Please share your thoughts and if you have knowledge on how to configure my 2nd Router to my WifiNOTE: I followed the user guide manual that came with my TP LINK router but it is no USE. I just need to know if should I reconfigure my 1st Router in order to communicate with my 2nd Router.
We've got our machine plugged directly into the modem and it previously worked fine. At some point something happened and now I have to connect via wireless. When I go the Network and Sharing Center and click "Change Adapter Settings", the only thing in the folder is "wireless network connection". I know the plug in connection works because I tested it on a laptop. I can even find where I can "opt in" or enable a LAN connection.
I bought my laptop from best buy as an open item (purchased and return) for a good price. I cant connect to my router i can only hardwire my laptop through ethernet. I go to device manager and it says my network controller is unknown and i cant figure out for the life of me what to do. i downloaded drivers from the asus and still a no go.
my hd5850 driver display crashes every now and then when i'm using Internet or things of that sort. and i was just browsing through my device manager and i noticed that under atitool utility - atitool driver has a yellow caution sign with an exclamation mark in it. now i'm not sure if this is even causing any problems, but i would rather fix it than to leave it be.
ps. i've downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card.
My internet icon has a yellow exclamation on it and I have tried everything from unplugging the router and restarting my laptop and also updating drivers ..
I have a W7 Home Edition 64 bit and by mistake installed an old piece of hardware which over wrote my Network USB Host Controller driver. I have a disk image backup from before; I just need the name of the driver so I can install the correct one.
I had a problem with the computer after a storm it turns to not have internet. After I checked and saw I could'n connect to internet through the modem with a broadband connection. Than checked Device Manager and there was not a network controller and everything was in order no question marks or yellow rectangles. Than tried to re install windows 7. After I tried to install the realtek driver for me LAN it show up the message The RealTek Network Adapter/Controller was not found.
a friend of mine bought an Emachines laptop from sweden aguess, and the HDD failed, so I had to install a new OS to a new HDD... but now the Network controller just wont install... and on Emachines homepage the version G730G is not even shown.I have tried many different ways of installing, even disabled UAC, safe mode, thru command promt and still not installing. On device manager it just shows under "other devices" as "network controller" with a yellow sign on it probably its for wifi, cause it doesn't work currently also I took it apart yesterday before installing new windows... cleaned and changed thermal paste. could it be that I might have broken WIFI wire or its not connected properly? (It's a pain in the butt to take this apart and put it back together)
Ive just completed a format/reinstall of Win 7. Before the wireless was working absolutely fine, afterwards I cannot even detect an available connection. I can connect to the internet on the computer via an ethernet cable though. If I go to control panel and look at the hardware, there is a 'network controller' with a yellow triangle indicting a problem. Upon searching for drivers on the internet I am informed that a driver is installing but then I get a message saying that the issue was unable to be fixed. The issue is identical to this thread Help: Network controller doesn't have a driver. except that my hardware id is different. On that thread some nice person indicted the correct driver based on the id's he posted, but I have no idea how to do this. In properties, my hardware IDs are:
