Has someone faced the problem of the RealTek Network Adapter/Controller not being found. Yesterday morning my Internet connection went off and when I tried to repair it I got the following message: The RealTek Network Adapter/Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode enabled Please Plug the Cable i searched the Net on my other Computer and found chapter and verse on this problem but none of the suggested cures worked and the Net remained off the whole day. Finally in the night in disgust I shut down the errant computer, unplugged all the cables attached to it, and went to sleep. This morning I attached all the cables and restarted the computer and everything was back to normal again. After scouting the Net the only change that I have made is to uncheck the "Allow this Computer to turn off this device to save Power" Box.

I am having a problem with windows 7 finding my network adapters on a soft restart. If a hard re-boot (unplug the damn thing) then the network adapter shows up with no problem, but on soft restart it cant seem to find my network adapters. I am running a BFG Tech motherboard, which is especially frustrating because the install disc that came with the mother board isn't compatible past windows XP, and the company's website has shut down.

I just installed Windows 7 RC version and I have my first (I hope last problem).
I have got Cnet cnwl-311 network adapter for an internet connection with router. I tried XP drivers but they don't work, when I try to launch cnet utility an error appears ,,device or driver not found". I tried rebooting, reinstering card, reinstalling drivers etc but It still doesn't work.
Maybe sb know how to make this work? Or have some other drivers (maybe for vista) which I can try?

First off , thanks for a great beta , never seen something as tight as this in betaform from MS before
the beta runs great on my desktop , but on my laptop it cant recognize the wireless network adapter. It recognizes all other components ,but not the wireless unfortunatly.
After a bit of searching I found out that its one of two adapters:
either its a Askey WLL3090(LF) 802.11b/g WLAN driver or a Intel 802.11g wireless adapter.
I have downloaded drivers for both ,but none of them wants to install.
During the 7 installation it told me "this adapter is not recognized" ,and in device manager I just get a yellow ! next to the name. Since it cant recognize it ,it simply named the wireless card "unknown network adapter".
When I tried to manually install the Askey adapter thru device manager,it told me that there was no driver files in the folder (although it was a .ini with driver settings in the folder) . When i tried to install the Intel driver I got the good old blue screen and a code dump.
I tried an application from Intel to find my wireless card , but it just told me there was no wireless Intel cards on the machine , but Im not sure ..

I recently moved my computer away from my router to a different room. So I bought myself a wireless adapter, a D-Link DWA-160 wireless adapter. I installed the drivers with the CD and followed the instructions. At the end of the installation it gave me this: (Url) I have re-installed many times trying different methods, but nothing seems to work. In device manager it shows that the device is installed and working properly. Yet it does not make it actually work. The light on the adapter will not flash like it does for my laptop (tested). And I am unable to even run the Wireless Connection Manager from D-Link, i just double click and nothing happens.

I had the infinite start up loop before but anyways I took off what I needed to take off and did a clean install of windows 7. After I reinstalled it I couldn't find any networks and I could only connect to the internet via LAN ethernet cord. When I go to Manage Wireless Networks it says my wireless is not currently enabled. My wi-fi light is on though on my laptop. I have a Toshiba Satellite L450. When I go to adapter settings it says my PCI adapter is working fine. Wondering how I can fix this and connect wirelessly, so I don't have to use the cord to connect to the internet everytime.

To start, I had Windows 7 Home Premium x64 installed with internet connectivity working perfectly. I decided to place ultimate x64 version on, but now there is no network adapter, no drivers to be found. I really don't even know where to start with getting this fixed. And for some reason two copies of windows 7 appear on start up despite both versions being the same - ultimate x64 editions.

I'm having difficulty trying to get my new Windows 7 pc set up to share files across my existing home (wired) network which consists of 1 desktop pc running WinXP and 1 laptop running WinXP.I want the 'C' drive on each of the 3 computers to be shared. I've had the 2 Windows XP computers set up and working like this for several years without a problem but I can't seem to get the 'C' drive on the Windows 7 computer to do the same. All 3 computers have the same workgroup name and none of them require passwords to log on to Windows. There are no problems with the firewalls on any of the machines. On the Windows 7 PC when I right click on the 'C' drive and select the 'Sharing' tab, I have set this up to be shared and when I click on the 'Advanced Sharing' button there is a tick in the 'Share this folder' box, the 'Share name' is 'C'. If I then click on the 'Permissions' button, this shows a 'Group or user name' 'Everyone' and this group has Full Control, Change and Read boxes ticked. As far as I can see there is nothing more I can do.
However from my Windows XP computer, when I go to My Network Places and double click on the icon for the Windows 7 'C' drive, I get the message "\Computername is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found"I've subsequently set up a sub folder (of the Windows 7 'C' drive) for sharing by right clicking on the folder, choosing 'Share with' and then selecting 'Specific people'. I then set up a group called 'Everyone' with read/write permissions. Now I can navigate to this folder from my 2 WinXP computers.

I disabled my network adapter then restarted and now the adapter is no longer showing up in my network connections. How in the world do I get it back? I have looked at other options (like under the registry which was suggested on a couple of places). I have never seen this happen before. I even reinstalled my drivers and still nothing. How do I enable it again?

I have a linksys usb600n (v2) using the Windows 7 driver from linksys. It installs and is displayed correctly in Device Manger - BUT it doesn't appear in the Network and Sharing Center as an adapter. This same device and driver were previously working just fine in this system - but I rebuilt the OS (clean install) after testing a number of security products out.
The initial install went fine - no problems that I remember - just plug in the adapter and install the drivers obtained from Linksys (Ver 3.00.01.0). I tried the same thing on the re-build and it looks fine until I go into the Network Center and can't set up wireless networking since the adapter does not appear.
SIW shows TWO (2) linksys USB adapters under Hardware/Network Adapters, but does not show the network adapters in the Network Information section.
Any ideas?

Installed Windows 7 on two home-network computers. Everything appeared to be good, including networking, but I could not access printers (linked through each computer) with the opposite computer. Windows update offered an update for the Broadcom 802.11n network adapter, but when I installed the update I completely lost the network.
I had to revert to the old driver in order to reastablish the network. But the printers still are not recognized. The network adapter on the secondary computer is a Linksys WMP300N. I did try turning the router off for ten seconds with the updated driver but that had no effect.
Anyone had this problem?

Out of the blue, I lost my Network and Internet connectivity Windows 7 gave me excellent troubleshooting tips like to check if I have a cable connected.Device manager tells me that my network adapter is working properly (Realtek GBE).When I try to connect to a network it tells me no network connection found. The machine is still configured as it was out of the box (relatively new machine - Dell XPS Studio 9100 - Windows 7 Home Edition 64 Bit). It been working fine for almost a year. I sincerely hope reformatting and reinstalling Windows 7 is not the answer to every windows 7 problem

I have two PCs sitting side by side. They are both served by the same Linksys wireless router. One has a Linksys internal wireless adapter that does not recognize the wireless signal that the PC next to it is now receiving. Both PCs got the signal last week and worked fine before I installed windows 7 to the one that now cannot recognize my wireless network signal. That PC shows two old wireless network names that no longer exist, but it does not show the new wireless network.I have tried to go through the Control Panel to > Network and Internet to create the new Network name or get the adapter to sense the new network. But, no luck. What am I doing wrong? My Windows 7 install seems to have creamed my wireless network setup on the PC that will not now pick up the wireless signal.

I upgraded my windows 7 beta last night to the RC1 release. The only issue i am having is that now my wireless driver is not working correctly.
under the device manager the error is "Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)"
I am using a macbook pro with bootcamp on it, the initial beta public release of Windows 7 picked up the drivers fine. For some reason after upgrading i can get no wireless though. I have tried downloading vista drivers, and just about everything i can think of. I also downloaded the Bootcamp Vista 32 Update from mac, but it did not resolve the problem either.

I loaded some software that I didn't want to 'activate online' and to insure that there wasn't any internet connection I manually disconnected the cable from the port. I plugged it back in and I'm reconnected, until, I reboot.
Once the computer has rebooted I'm no longer connected. I either have to do one of two things, one disable/enable from the device manager or two uninstall and reboot till Windows 7 finds it and re-connects.
Any time after that if I reboot I never get internet connection. If I try to load the drivers I get a compatibility error/issue and if I do a driver update from the device manager it says I have the current/latest drivers.
Edit: I'm getting the yellow exclamation, to be more specific.

Running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I have an HP desktop with a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. All was working fine until I got the automatic Win 7 critical update issued 2/15/2011. That is the only thing I can think of that changed. Now for the problem. When my PC boots it appears that the NIC driver is not being started giving me no access to my Netgear WNDR3700 router and thus no internet connection. If I uninstall the Realtek Controller using device manager then restart the system it finds a new device, the Realtek controller, and installs it and I can then access router and the internet. When I shut it off the next time I start it up again I have no access to the router.I did restore my system back to 2/14/2011 using the restore point created by the 2/15/2011 update and it worked fine until Windows automatically installed the critical update again. That is why I blame the update. Since then there have been two or three more critical updates but the problem persists. Also I can no longer go back to the 2/14/2011 restore as it seems the system only retains the latest restore points and 2/14/2011 is gone. One other thing is there is another listing under Network Adapters in Device Manager. WAN Miniport (PPPOE) it has the little triangle with the exclamation point in it. I tried to reinstall it searching both my hard drive and the internet for a driver but it can't find one. Under Properties it also says, "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)" However this does not stop me from accessing my router using the method described above.
