i have recently just formatted and re-installed windows 7, steam and counter strike source and previously i used to run my game at 1920x1080 but since formatting it no longer gives me the option of 1920x1080 in the video settings?
my LG w2243s worked fine on my computer before i upgraded to windows 7 from XP proffessional. now it doesn't recognise it. and wont let me adjust the resolution to the monitors settings, i tried updating the driver, but was told i already have the best driver available. my monitor is not listed in DEVICE MANAGER and when i download the driver from LG, it does nothing when i click it..
I have a new computer and monitor. It worked perfectly and the monitor was installed emmediately without me doing anything. So it all worked perfectly - until one day my SSD broke. So i had to send the SSD back - and got a new one. Great, I thought, now it will all work perfectly again. But, as I have finished everything and be happily in my account, my monitor wont let me set the 1920x1080 setting...its not even listed. OK, I thought, then I will install the driver. So I installed it from the CD delivered together with the monitor when i got it, but theres still no 1920x180 - setting listed. I tried nearly every driver download for my monitor and searched nearly the whole internet for solutions, but it was all the same. as highest the highest two are 1856x1392 and 1920x1440 - which looks horrible. So, the best resolution is 1400x1050 - which is just too wide. My monitor is the Samsung SyncMaster S22A300 LED-Monitor with, as said, 1920x1080 Shall i contact the management?

Every time I try to run a program (fullscreen) with lower resolution than the monitor (1920x1080) it gives screen waiting ... and only comes out if I press alt tab ... how do I fix this? I called the tech support .. and said that it has seven windows drive yet .. anyone know what do I get?
I recently updated my nVidia drivers to the latest and also my SiSandra Lite software (for quick access to accurate specs of my PC). After updating SiSandra Lite, I looked at the GPU section. As usual it loaded the primary monitor first where everything was fine. I then changed to look at my secondary and my primary monitor turned off and my desktop was shifted to my second. Now when I boot my computer, my primary comes on, but after the pre and post bios. Only when Grub comes on does something appear on my primary monitor, but it's very low resolution (compared to what it used to be). The windows 7 loading bar appears on my primary but before the logo can appear and glow, it swaps to my secondary monitor where it stays.
Windows 7 cannot detect my primary monitor trying both screen resolution detection and it's missing from the devices menu. Really confused about this whole business.I realise this may have been posted as a problem before. I did find little snippets of information about it but nothing sufficient.
I know this computer can do it. I've done in Windows 7 and on Ubuntu before.
When I open screen resolution, the highest one displayed is 1600x1200. When I got to my adapter settings and click "List Modes" the highest one shown is 1920x1440, though when that one's clicked, my monitor says "mode not supported"..
I've tried using powerstrip. But when i get to the part where you install the driver, it won't let me install it. i click it over and over and over again, but nothing happens.. no error message or anything, it just won't go...
I've been trying to get this to work for hours. I have some embedded graphics intel chip thing.. i couldn't find an exact name anywhere..
If you have, I would like to have a screenshot of your desktop with the picture below as a desktop background. My intention is to promote virtualization technology and demonstrate graphically how you can run several operating systems on the same machine at the very same time. Here are the instructions:
1. Make sure that your screen mode truly is 1920x1080, (I don't want to have the wallpaper rescaled in the screen shot). Make the following picture temporarily your desktop wallpaper:
2. Open a window and arrange it as the black rectangle in green in the following picture:
This window could be paint, notepad or any software that opens a standard windows 7 window with Aero translucency. I want this window to look like a typical hardware demanding FPS game (such as Crysis 2 och Battlefield 3 or similar) running in windowed mode in Windows 7.
3. Make sure there are no desktop icons covering the green shaded parts of the image above and make sure that the window you have added is active. Press "SHIFT + PrintScreen" to capture the screen.
4. Open Windows Paint or similar software and paste the screenshot by pressing "CTRL-v".
5. Save the picture as 24-bit PNG, BMP or TIFF (NOT JPEG or any image format below 24-bit!), and submit it as is back onto these forums. You can upload it to e.g. "imageshack.us" but make sure you set the "Do not resize" (!) option.
First of all I weren't sure if this question should go into the GPU section but I think it's linked to windows 7!I have an eyfinity set up with 3 x 1080p monitors. When I play a game in eyefinity I turn my screens on to act as one 5760x1080, but when I'm finished playing games I turn it back to 3 separate monitors for general reasons. I was wondering if there is any software or programs out there that has the ability to set your 5760x1080 display to eyefinity when gaming but at the same time when not gaming it lets you use your monitors separately. For example I usually have 1 monitor for for each purpose(internet/editing/social media) but with eyefinity turned on everything is spread over the 3 screens.
banging my head with this issue...i have an ati radeon hd 5850 and samsung syncmaster 2233SW monitor....in the games the resolution being displayed is very low, somewhere in the 1280 x 1024 type of regions...though in the game settings its showing 1920 x 1080 .rivers are latest...11.12 amd vision engine control centerbtw my desktop resolution iv put at 1280 x 800 ...wen i put it at 1920 x 1080 in the desktop d sides of the screen get cut...evn my monitors auto adjustment function doesn
I have Dell Optiplex GX260 system. I intalled Windows 7 Ultimate on that. The resolution of screen is fine but it is not supporting 1280 x 1024 resolution and videos are not playing properly. It was not taking audio drivers as well but when I ran the SoundMax drivers for XP in compatibility mode they were installed. But display drivers are not getting installed. I even tried the various driver from Nvidia for XP/Vista/Win 7, but none of them works.
I just got a computer for free, a Dell Studio 1555. When I got it, it would try to boot, then come to a screen that said that bootmgr.exe was missing. Sometimes I got a message that said something like mpio.sys was corrupted or missing. I have a Win 7 disk, so I put it in and tried to repair the installation. Each time I ran it, it said that the repair had failed. I tried to reinstall windows 7, and It made it to the first restart in the process. It showed the "Starting Windows" screen, but the colors of the windows logo never appeared, then I got the missing bootmgr screen. I decided to install Ubuntu and see if that worked, and it did (I installed it alongside the Windows installation). It was Ubuntu 10.04. I thought, "OK, so i'll just use this as a Linux machine"...and I decided to go back and reinstall so that I could use the entire hard drive. It never worked correctly again. Each subsequent time that I installed Ubuntu, I was told something along the lines of "Gnome Power Manager did not install correctly" and got a slow and choppy Ubuntu installation.Tried to install 11.10, and it failed completely. I opened the Ubuntu live from my usb drive, and opened the disk utility. I now cannot format, reformat, partition, or delete partitions on the drive. Is all of this just a case of a hard drive on its last legs, or is there something else going on here?
Ok i have windows 7, Recently i have found out that i have a full list of errors that happened pretty much overnight:Here's the list 1. I can't go onto Control Panel It say's " This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator" I AM THE ADMIN.. I am the only account too. 2. My Task bar is missing, When i go ctrl-alt-del i see no option to open up my task bar. [FIXED] 3. I cant RIGHT click on anything on my desktop, as well as my folders and stuff. Although i can right click while playing games or browsing the internet, so my mouse is definitely not broken. So u must be thinking, this guy has a virus for sure... Well if i do have a virus it must be made by ******* Bill Gates. Because i can't find it.I have the FULL version of Trend Micro Cillin as well as Norton 360, I've just recently downloaded Malvare Bytes, and that couldn't find anything as well. I've done a full system scam on both anti-virus programs, i see no viruses. I did get a virus a week ago, but Norton quickly picked it up, I'm thinking it may have changed a few settings in my computer before i managed to delete it.
I have recently been running my computer for really long periods and have only just turned it off last night. When I turned it on this morning it did a file corrupt scan which sometimes randomly happens. When windows fully loaded the screen resolution had been changed, almost to safe mode resolution.
So iI have tried changing the resolution (Normal is 1920x1080), with no luck. Even though it says it is on 1920x1080 (recommmended), I know for a fact that it's not actually that resolution. You can tell by this photo that the desktop is way to large for 1920x1080. Unfortunetly I do not have a photo of my original desktop resolution .I have installed the latest NVIDIA graphics driver, and it is the right driver for my card. Also checked all windows updates.
I have just purchased a 9600GT which is capable of a resolution of 2560x1600 but my monitor is only stated to be 1680-1050, My question is this, would it do my monitor any damage to force upon it the said 2560-1600?
i have used to connect to my pc (vista x64 Radeon 4670) through vnc that is connected to a fullhd tv via hdmi. When i shut down the tv nothing happened to the screen resolution when connected through vnc but now with Windows 7 x64.
when i turn off the tv the resolution changes to some lower and i cant use the whole 1920x1080 and after turning the tv on again it resizes to the full resolution but with icons on desktop without any order! Is there any way to Windows 7 not automatic change resolution when turning off the tv like in vista?
, i am running windows 7 on a flattron lg screen my resolution does not look right. my computer has me at 800x 600 is that the right setting i thought it was1024x600
I am using 64-bit Windows 7, an LG W2363D monitor and an Nvidia GTX 560 ti. The monitor is connected using a DVI to DVI cable.I have had this computer for about a month, running fine at 1920x1080 resolution. However suddenly the resolution has dropped down to something very low, I think this was after some updates.Going into control panel or the Nvidia control panel, the computer still says that it is at 1920x1080 but this is obviously not true.It has been stuck at this low resolution for 2 days now.
I have tried everything to keep the screen resolution at it's max but to no avail. When I change pages the screen reduces to a small size. After repeated attempts to keep the screen size to it's fullest the size changes back to small. Yes, I had done everything that the help section said to do and hit the apply button and keep changes. It only stays for a one page then reverts back to the small screen.
while playin games like red faction guerrilla or far cry 2 suddenly the screen goes blank and then new resolution takes effect then again after some time it gets hanged
i recently upgraded my OS from winxp sp3 to win7 pro. Before the upgrade my native screen resolution is 1360x768 and after the upgrade, it has changed to 1900x1080, i dont like the change although it gives me bigger space on my desktop, but it seems everything on my screen are smaller than before. I always design in photoshop and when i make banners, its really small i dont see the details. I tried to change the resolution back to 1360x768 but when i do, its not that sharp, kinda blurry.
Font was way too small in my webmail. I set resolution at 200 on my little Acer notebook with Windows 7. It made everything bigger except for the email I was trying to enlarge for easier reading.. Now I can't find a way to get back to lower resolution. Control panel is so expanded that the screen will not show needed settings.
I was wondering if it's actually possible to change my screen resolution to anything I want. I have tried the right click then Screen resolution but it doesn't display the screen resolution I need.Specifically I need my screen resolution to be 1600x900.Computer specs if it helps: Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2 OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 460 @ 2.53GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 37 Stepping 5 Processor Count: 4 RAM: 7989 Mb Graphics Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics, -325 Mb Hard Drives: C: Total - 456088 MB, Free - 99351 MB; D: Total - 20546 MB, Free - 2986 MB; F: Total - 99 MB, Free - 81 MB; Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard, 144A Antivirus: Norton 360, Updated and Enabled
I just got Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and all is great except for one thing. I had the resolution set at the recommended setting (1024 x 768) and all looked normal except on the taskbar. I couldn't get to the Start button or internet icon because it was too far to the left and off screen.
I changed the resolution to 800 x 600 and can see the buttons now but everything else to view is huge! I only want to set the taskbar to see all the buttons on the left. My monitor is the same one I used on the old computer with the resolution set at 1024 x 768 and all was fine on that.
My OS is Windows 7 32-bit. I'm using 2 monitors. The first one is from my laptop, Thinkpad T400 which has a resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels. The second one is a 18.5-inch LCD (G900HD from BENQ), which has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.
I need to use both of them at the same time (to view more windows simultaneously). We all know that this is possible if we choose the right option in "Control PanelAppearance and PersonalizationDisplayScreen Resolution".
My problem is that I cannot choose the right setting for my second resolution, because its native resolution (1366 x 768) does not appear in the suggested list, as you can see from the below picture:
As a result, text and images displayed in my second monitor seem to be blurry. So my question is how to set my second monitor's resolution back to its original state?
I use asus 14 inch along with windows 7. recently i have installed the sims 3. but when i cannot play this game with full screen. i get black bars on each side of the screen.. its very irritating.
