View 3 RepliesI am missing three drivers in my device manager. They are listed under other drivers and when I look at the properties there is no information given as to what its for.The first two say base system device and the third one says coprocessor. None of them can be updated from the manager because it cannot find the drivers online. I believe the first two have to do with nvidea but everytime I try to download the driver it does not work. I have no idea if I am even on the right path. This is the last issue I am having from my windows 7
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an old HP Pavillion 751 desktop with a P4 2Ghz. I put a new AGP vid card in and loaded Windows 7 32bit. The OS loaded fine, but the system will not boot at all. It's just a reboot loop. I cannot get Windows 7 to even display on the screen for half second to press F8. I tried doing a startup repair also, but it will not boot. I then tried to load Vista...same exact result. I had XP running fine on here. The HD and RAM are good, no issues there. What is the reason this system will not run with either Vista or 7, even with a brand new 'aero' compatible video card?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP pavilion P6000 with windows 7.About a couple of months after I purchased the computer,I would turn it on and it would just loop the HP splash screen over and over. I called HP and after hours trying this and that I was told to disconnect any plugs from the computer and push the start button for 2 seconds to discharge any static then it would start right up, that worked for a few weeks Started happening over and over, sent the computer back to HP (after hrs. of tech support) they replaced the motherboard. That worked for about a month then same thing happened again.
Sent it back again (after hrs. of tech support) HP replaced something to do with the possessor, work for a while. Now every time I boot up I have the same problem again looping the HP splash screen until I discharge the static, then it works until I shut it off.
The volume icon on the taskbar reads "No Audio Output Device is Installed". No sound whatsoever not even out of the headphone jack. HP does not make a driver update. They told me my computer is too slow to run Windows 7. Funny, because I'm running 7 as I type this! Works great, other than this issue.
If there isn't a driver, I can of course get a USB or Express card sound card, right?
I have an HP Pavillion DV6500 laptop that came pre installed with 32bit Vista.
Right now I am using Windows 7 Evaluation Copy Build 7100 32bit.
I'm wondering if there's any way to upgrade to 64bit windows 7 when the upgrade disc comes out in October or even now.
I don't mind having to reformat the hard drive.
Can I possibly reformat the hard drive now and install a fresh copy of windows 7 rc 64bit?
I tried talking to HP support about this, but they wouldn't give me a direct answer to any question.
They wouldn't even tell me if my laptop could support 64bit. (I did some research, and I think it can.)
So I just installed windows 7 recently on my sisters HP pavillion dv5000
There are a number of problems. First the keyboard is wack. After I type a few words it'll jump to a middle of a sentence before or 2 words before and start from there as I type. like I'll write hey how are you and it goes between h and ow and starts the cursor all the way over there or it'll be gone and start no where. and it'll go to the post button or something.
Another issue but not as big is the fact that there is a mute button if you are familiar with the HP pavillion DV5000 and when you press it the light goes on, if you turn on the mute. This always happens. It happened when I still use windows XP, now that I changed it to windows 7 however it no longer works. If I press mute or even if I don't the button is not turned on.
Any one can help? ESPECIALLY with the wacky keyboard situation. I can't type anything without it going back midway and start to type out of the wrong section of it.
Sound Issue: whenever I hibernate then restore windows the sound is gone! I cannot get it back unless I restart my PC.
Anyone here have any HP notebook or let alone any notebook at all that when you go to put it to sleep if hangs for a while then goes to sleep but comes back out? any known fixes?

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have an HP Pavillion dv9000 series laptop that came with a media center remote.
right now im using MediaMonkey for my music instead of WMP. i had the remote working in vista (original OS) but it wont recognize my remote and crashes MM when i just recently tried using it.
would installing the vista driver work or do i need something else?
I just did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my HP Pavillion dv6812nr and after which, my graphic card isn't being recognized. The OS recognizes the graphics and a "non-PnP graphic card" not my NVIDIA.
When I checked the Device Manager some of my drivers weren't recognized, hence I tried updating then. Now my OS can see NVIDIA, but still does not use it as the graphic card. Now my screen looks crappy and can't use the AERO feature.
I just installed win xp pro 32bit on a pavillion a1000n desktop pc, and now the display isn't working correctly. The color resolution won't go higher than 4bit? and I can't adjust display more than 620 x 480. For some reason the video driver isn't working.
View 1 Replies View Relateda few days ago, I formatted my HP pavillion dv6870ej laptop (core 2 duo 2.8, 3GB, SATA 320GB drive, Nvidia 8400M)
it came with vista and performance was really good.
I installed win 7 rc (I need it to be a legit copy, and the 1-year evaluation offer wins my attention)
I updated all drivers and ran a radersync..
I was expecting a slimmer, faster OS.
but Win 7, while acceptable still feels a little behind vista, most notable is the application launch time, office 2007 word or excel takes about twice the time to launch on Windows 7 than on vista.
GUI also feels a little bit slow, while still responsive it does not have the screaming fast feeling I had with vista.
my WEI scores are 5.1 - 5.8 in all categories, except for display , aero graphics is 2.2 (!!!), and gaming graphics is 5.1
could any of you point me to what could be wrong ? what can't I see the performance boost and why is it slower than vista ?
My hp pavillion dv9000 lights up when I turn it on, but HDD, fan, monitor are dead. What could it be?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an HP dv6 win 7 laptop. I hadn't used the onboard camera for a few weeks so I am not aware of the exact date it went missing? It is no longer lsited in device manager. I tried to go back, using an earlier restore date (bios in safe mode) but as luck would have it I couldn't go back far enough. I found the last date that I used it but as mentioned that date wasn't available as restore date...I am thinking that since I purchased this laptop at a pawn shop, missing original start up disc of course, that I may be resolved to just purchasing a usb plug in camera?
