View 1 Replies View RelatedI attend college full-time via online and on of my courses requires(!) using the VM (virtual machine) to complete the assignments. I connect fine, but once inside everything is unbelievably slow. Everything loads in blocks visually, like puzzle pieces, and will kick me out of the console if I do not input every minute or two. I am told it is the result of using a wireless connection vs "hard-wire." What can I do to "bring it up to speed"?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi would like to connect using RDC from my netbook (using windows 7 starter) to my desktop (using windows 7 professional) on the road.
i have followed all the steps here: Allow Remote Desktop connections from outside your home network when i try to connect i get the dreaded "remote desktop can't connect to the remote computer" error message.
I have Windows 7 and have a wireless internet set up. If someone else connects to the network, I cannot connect with my computer. The network is encrypted, WEP I believe. The password is 26 digits long (don't know if that helps)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 3 computers with Windows 7 Pro.
I can use remote control between 2 of them, but I can not connect from any of those two to the third one. All the services needed for remote control are running, and I have tried several tutorials on how to set up remote control...and nothing. Again, only on third computer remote control does not work. On that computer I have 2 accounts: one standard and one admin. I have put admin account under "Select users" and did not help. Tried with enabled Administrator account and nothing. Below you will see the picture which describes the problem. I can not select who can connect.
I know this is far less related to Windows 7 issues (completely unrelated :P), and more related to hardware and such, but anyway. I am on an absolutely pathetic internet connection of 20gb a month (Internet in New Zealand was monopolised by Telecom, and the industry went nowhere for years, our speeds are stupid and the prices would be considered unacceptable in many countries). Me and a friend do a lot of data sharing, and he also hosts a minecraft server, which uses a lot of internet. Luckily for me, he moved in 4 houses down from me. Our solution was going to be for me to connect to his wifi connection from my house, and just to be safe, from his end I would be restricted to his Lan network, but not internet data :P.However after fruitless attempts to make a home made yagi antenna from everything from a fly cover for a large dish to a kitchen wok, nothing worked and we ran short of ideas. Does anyone know of a cheap way we could accomplish this? We could buy a yagi antenna (for those of you that don't know thats like long range wifi antenna
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have my Windows 7 Ultimate PC here and I can connect to my worksite via the built-in VPN software in windows 7 no problem whatsoever.
I've just built a second PC and installed Windows 7 Home Premium on it, it is sitting here right next to me on my same network and it refuses to connect via VPN.
Username and Password is OK, I've perfectly mirrored the VPN configuration between the two machines and one connects and the other won't.
I've tried turning off all of the windows firewalls on the problematic system with no success.
Everytime it get's to verifying username and password and then it stalls there and eventually comes back with a 619 error. I've checked the logging, but I can't see anything useful there (but maybe i don't know what to look for?).
I have both of these things and my recent internet still come up on my laptop, how can i connect or use my router to get wifi, need this for work asap.
