I saved a "dashboard" from a system that I bought. As the "save as type", I left it as "all files". When opening this later, it was not as expected. After trial and error, I discovered it should have been saved as "Web Page, complete" to get the desired page required.how to change the document already saved to "Web Page, complete". I have left it as a default setting but need to change the incorrect saving.

However, the sound is not played.The sounds applet in control panel has the "Print Complete" sound defined correctly and the Test button plays the sound. So I do not have an audio problem, and the .wav file is not blocked.I have looked for any options that could control the sound, but have not found any.

When I try to print the document, only one column prints per page. I have tried selecting all the columns and changing the print selection but this just shrinks the column size, and prints it smaller. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a wireless LAN sharing internet through a Mac Book Pro, i have no problems connecting to this with Ubuntu, an android phone, and other Apple products. The only system that i'm having problems with is the windows partition....The network is listed in available connections, but seems to have the wrong WEP key because it fails to connect. However I cannot delete the connection and start again as the network is not listed in 'Manage Wireless Networks'.
I'm stuck!! I cannot scan for updates because even when the notebook is plugged directly into the router it will not connect to the internet. I can just about get onto my neighbours WiFi network, but it is very poor strength and cuts out, so can't really use that. I know the hardware in the computer is fine because the Ubuntu partition works.
I just bought a new computer with a 256 disk partitioned into 2 drives: C (called OS) and D (Data). The computer writes everything to the smaller C drive, leaving D completely empty.I only have about 25G left on C and would like to find a way to change the way files are saved or some other workaround that will let me take advantage of the entire disk.I am not a very tech person - a mid-level user, so I need a solution, which will not create problems of programs not recognizing their paths afterwards.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhenever a PDF document is selected in Windows Explorer, the document is being Previewed, I am unable to make specific changes to that document when I open it in either Acrobat Pro or Foxit.
The specific changes include: note annotations, adding lines, objects, text boxes, call out boxes, images.
For some reason, highlighting doesn't produce the same error (weird?) Preview seems to be stealing the permissions to save a file because i guess it is accessing the file too.
The error is: Quote: The document could not be saved. The file may be read-only, or opened by another user, save the document with a different name or in a
different folder The solution is to de-select the document from Explorer and then save the file. However, this is extremely irritating. I select the document in Explorer before I open it, so of course the file is still selected! In order to get around this, I have to manually de-select any file that I want to save, OR turn off Preview.
Any workaround for this so that Preview doesn't take over when I want to make changes to a file?
How do you change what icon appears for a microsoft word document, while using windows 7. In windows XP you could go to "file type" tab in the folder option and choose what icon you wanted to appear for any file type. How do you do that in Windows 7.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm on a brand new HP computer running Windows 7 and everytime I download a file from the internet or even save files from local programs to my desktop, they are saved as some sort of hidden file...or at least they behave similar to hidden files. The difference is if I open up an Explorer window and browse to my desktop, I can see them there that way, but there is no icon on my desktop for the file. I CAN see the the saved file on my desktop if I turn "view hidden files" on...but when I look at the properties of said files, they are not actually marked "hidden." I can even copy/paste that same file in my desktop and I will see the copied file show up visually on the desktop, but still not the original file unless I browse to the desktop in an Explorer window.When right clicking the desktop, "Show desktop icons" is turned on and I can view all of my other desktop file icons, shortcuts, etc.

I have rebooted and everything seemed to be fine, but ... I've noticed, that slovak/czech programs do not work properly and still using Russian codepage even if windows is showing that current locale for non-unicode program is set to Slovak.Re-setting of this option did not work, so I've downloaded some diagnostic tools and it shows: [code] So my question is: how can I change EBCDIC code page in windows 7 (for example in registry)? I load firefox, same issue. I load Crome, it worked for 1 day then same issue. It used to login in fine last week. It logs in fine on my 2 other PCs and my Kindlefire.I have checked for viruses with Avast and A-Malware Bytes in safe mode - nothing. These 2 pick up 98% of stuff. Personally I dont think its a virusn IE9 - Deleted browsing history, cookies, temp internet files, everything under the Geneeral/Browsing History section. Did a disk cleanup, put the site inthe trusted zone, turned off popup blocker just in case, Cleared SSL state, Reset IE9. Zippo

When I copy text from a file/document and then paste it into another file/document I have one of three things happen. One it will copy the text correctly, though if I press enter to go to a new line its as if the clipboard was emptied because I cannot paste again, two it will not paste anything as if I didn't copy before, or three it will paste a screenshot of what is currently on my screen into the document.If it does copy and paste correctly then when I open a new file or folder, the clipboard will empty so I can't paste the same thing into two different documents unless both documents were open when I fist copied the text.This issue also occurs whe trying to copy/cut files and move them to a new/different directory(if the paste location is not already open then the clipboard appears to empty).

Recently I opened the folder and the look has changed. On the general tab I no longer see "home page", "temporary internet files", etc. I only see, browsing history and appearance options. I wanted to change my home change in the address box, but it doesn't appear. How can I change it back to the way it use to look? I've scanned my laptop for potential viruses using AVG-anti-virus and Malwarebytes anti-malware....both came up clean.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi have an intel i5 2400 cpu, combined with 4gb ddr3 memory. mobo is dh67bl - revision 3. no gpu installed.power supply is via corsair vx450.problem i been facing:
1) bsod saying that a clock interrupt wasnt recd. [url]
2) bsod saying: page fault in non paging area. couldnt grab a screenshot for this.
3) display randomly goes off for a split second and reappears.. but the color of the panes go blue (i havent chosen blue. my setting is for clear pane.)[url] this error solves itself after random number of hours/mins
4) display vanishes for a split second and reappears, and a small balloon at the bottom right corner prompts that the display driver had stopped working.
5) system plain hangs/stops responding. randomly happens.. but more so while on Internet, or after hrs of it idling, i come back to the comp and try to scroll the content onscreen.sometime it revives from the stuck state as if nothing happened, sometimes i have to give it a cold boot.
6) while reading forums with blue bands.. the blue bands kinda form blurry bars which stretch till the end of the screen. i tried to grab a screenshot but the screenshots were clean. the bands moved as i dragged the image about.
7) also, my comp's display went off one day and within a second came back with a blue-ish hue. it restored itself but again has gone back to blue-ish.
other relevant information:
windows 7 x64
no other os resides/installed on system
full retail version
os was installed in july.
I've installed StarDock Deskscapes lately , but I've uninstalled it because of a few bugs . After the uninstall , i can't seem to change themes or access the themes page at all . Any help ? I also got Fences Pro .

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy sister sends me jpeg photos from her phone as attachments in gmail. In the email, the preview pic looks normal. When I click View, the pic is enlarged, but flipped 90 degrees. If I download the pic, it's flipped 90 degrees. If I open the pic in windows live photo gallery, I can rotate it, but will get a bunch of pop up error messages saying This photo cannot be saved because of a problem with the photo's file properties. Then it says there's a problem with windows live photo gallery and shuts down. This pic flipping in gmail started about a week ago. Previously her pics displayed correctly. She says she's doing nothing out of the ordinary. I just tried loading the photo into MsPaint. I was able to rotate it and save it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I save a file to my desktop, I have to go into the folder options for the desktop and select to view all hidden files. The files I save, when I check their properties, are no longer hidden. I have to go through this process ANY time I save a file to my desktop, no matter the file type.
Files saved to other folders aren't hidden.
trying to make some basic changes to the screen personalization but they wont stick. I'm in administrator mode, by the way. Every time I log back in, they revert.In particular, Im trying to change the way a slideshow is displayed. I go to Desktop Background and change Position to Fit. I Save Changes and all seems to be well. I also save the desktop theme under My Themes. But when I log back in it goes back to Stretch. Am I missing some kind of permissions thing? Or do I just not understand how desktop themes get saved?
