Cybersnipa Sonar 5.1 Headset - No Sound?
Jun 5, 2012I have a Cybersnipa Sonar 5.1 Headset and after i installed the driver from their website I have no more sound. I have tested this on 2 other Win 7 PC's and had the same result and I have contacted their support with no real resolution. I have also tried uninstalling the driver, but there is still no sound. Is there a way to completely remove the drivers that they installed or to revert back to the previous drivers?

Mar 29, 2012I have recently loaded Windows 7 (Home Premium) on to a Dell Dimension 2400 (32 bit). Installation went smoothly but screen resolution is stuck at 480 x 640 which makes the computer practically unworkable. I understand (but am nor sure) that Dell does not support Windows 7 on this machine and the only solution is a new video card.

I downloaded the drivers from the Dell website, and figured it would solve my problem of not being able to change the resolution. It didn't.
Now I am stuck. Is this computer just not able to handle Windows 7?

Aug 4, 2011I installed a clean version of windows 7 ultimate and everything seemed to run fine for a few weeks, then I started getting messages saying that the display driver has crashed and recovered.So I went to the nvidia site and downloaded the drivers for my graphic card, but now sometimes the computer completely freezes up, making me manually power down and restart the computer again.I uninstalled the nvidia drivers from their site, but I still get the freeze up nearly every day.I also have the yellow exclamation mark under other devices video controller in device manager, and can't find a driver for it.

ALL MODELS x86 32-bit WDDM 1.1:
1) Download the Catalyst 9.11 32-bit driver Suite for Windows 7 from here - Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM - Click on
ATI Radeon™ Video Card Drivers
2) Extract the driver folder by running the .exe you downloaded. It will extract to C:ATI
3) Close installer after extraction. No longer necessary. Do not continue with install here.
4) Download my attachment (CL_91526.rar) and extract the .inf file from it. Save to desktop or anywhere you want.
5) Copy and paste the CL_91526.inf you just extracted directly overwriting the original at this location - C:ATISupport9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enuDriverPackagesDriversDisplayW7_INF
6) Go to device manager and right click on your video card. (Standard VGA or otherwise.) Update driver software, browse my computer, let me pick, have disk, browse.
7) Navigate to C:ATISupport9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enuDriverPackagesDriversDisplayW7_INF
8) Click (or double click) on the CL_91526.inf
9) Click ok, then click next and let it install. If it complains that it is not signed, click the part to let it install anyway.
10) Reboot if necessary. Pick an Aero theme by right clicking on desktop, Personalize. (If you previously had a working driver from ATI's site installed, you may skip this step.)
11) Run setup.exe in C:ATISupport9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enuDriver
and let it complete to install the CCC, should you want the functionality. Custom mode is best used here instead of express mode, when it asks.
12) Install ATI Tray Tools (attsetup.rar in my attachments) if you wish to overclock. Ensure adequate cooling. Disclaimer - Should you choose to overclock, responsibility falls entirely on you.
13) Update your WEI score. Start menu | right click Computer | Properties | click Windows Experience Index
If you have a different AGP card, let me know. I will make you a custom .inf.

May 19, 2011I need to install Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7 (64-bit, SP1). Firstly, there's no download link for Windows 7 on the Microsoft Download page as apparently all Windows 7 installations already have IE8 installed. Mine doesn't - I have IE9, and on add/remove Windows components, IE9 is my only option.
Secondly, using the download link for IE8 for Vista x64 doesn't work, even when running with compatibility mode for Vista, the installation fails, for an unknown reason.
Thirdly, downloading the developer pack IEAK8 and using that to generate my own custom build of IE8 for Win7 failed because despite choosing the x64 option, it refuses to build anything except an x86 version, which of course won't run on my x64 OS. I'm kinda running out of options here. There doesn't seem to be a version of IE8 available for Windows 7 - but surely developers etc must be able to install it for troubleshooting?.

Aug 27, 2010I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop. I could not load into Windows so I tried the command prompt and did DISKPART, and activated a hidden partition, which is the E Drive. Now the problem is I cannot get back into the Command Prompt because I believe the E Drive is activated and not the C Drive.I have the Toshiba Recovery Disk, but when I load it up, it goes to the Starting Windows screen and then after that, a black screen with only the mouse arrow. Also, going through Safe Mode gets me back to the Starting Windows screen and then the black screen again. I think I need to get into the Command Prompt to fix the DISKPART to activate the C Drive, but I'm not sure.

Apr 12, 2012Basically, the screensaver won't work in Windows 7. My laptop is a 32bit system with 2GB of RAM so not old. I upgraded about a year ago from Vista to Windows 7. Symptoms: the screensaver doesn't work - the screen is just blank. When I try to change the screensaver in Control Panel and preview it, it won't preview even after 'Apply'. There are only 4 or so screensaver options such as Bubbles and Mystify but none seem to work. I am aware of a problem with the Bubbles screensaver via the internet but am not sure if this is a problem. I sometimes get an error box up when I awake the laptop (error OXc0000017). When I tried to install a new screensaver, it wouldn't install and I got the same error message/code. I have changed the power settings now so the display never goes off but I don't think this will change things.

I'm using wireless keyboard and when ever the machine is turned on, it wouldn't respond for the keyboard or mouse at the login screen. I have to force shut down and turn it on back to make it recognize. The second time works like a charm. Sometimes audio won't work for the first time but force restart solves it. I don't know why but I did install all the drivers.
