View 2 RepliesI recently purchased a couple of new Dell Vostro 3700 laptops with Win7 on them in my office. One of them started getting a message about a week ago stating that the machine is low on memory and instructing the user to close all programs and shut down. This does not make any sense to me as it is a brand new machine with 4GB of memory available. Normally I would think the user had too many programs running, but he is getting it even when there are only a couple of programs running.
In the mean time, we purchased another Dell Vostro 3700. I went through the process of getting it set up. After I installed the final program, it gave me the same error message. I removed the program and installed a more up-to-date version. It seems to be working fine. So I figured the other was the same issue. I followed the same steps. It just got the error message agian. There goes my theory.
what could be eating up the memory on a brand new machine?
My friend is trying to access a particular website (youconvertit.com) but gets HTTP 403 errors (access forbidden) whenever he does. Other web activity is fine.
1. When I take MY laptop round to his house, I can connect to the site no problem.
2. When we take HIS laptop to another neighbour's, he gets the same 403 message.
3. MY laptop is still connecting OK.
I have a lenovo u400, my processor is an i5 and it run around 50 C when doing normal browsing. runs at 60-70 C when watching movies or light gaming. My Tj. max is 100 C, never seen it pass 75 C. I just bought my laptop a month ago, so I don't know what's the deal. When I touch the bottom of my laptop is feels pretty cool.I have ran malwarebytes and MSE and have not found anything. I have also ran a memory test and everything looks fine.It usually happens when I'm watching a video from a website. My computer just reboots, no bsod or error message. I don't know what to do next. What can I do to troubleshoot this further?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new HP laptop with Win7 x64 installed on. When I close the laptop it should go to sleep mode, so when I would open it and turn it on, it should start normally. Instead, it gives me a message screen, where it asks if I want to start Windows in safe mode or start windows normally. It seems like the OS doesn't go to normal sleep mode, instead it crashes. When I click on the sound icon in the tray it takes very very long to open the master volume slider. Why is it processing so long for a simple thing like this?

It's not a big problem but it's very annoying...
I'm using Windows 7 RC 32 bit.
After a Windows update today I noticed when I went to turn off my PC that there was some sort of Message pop up on the Desktop just before it shut Down. I was unable to read it so I did another restart and shut down and again got something that pop up on the Desktop again just as it shut down and I dont have a clue what it is
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I'm trying to upgrade from the 6801 build (32-bit) to the 7100 build so both my laptops are on the same build.... 7100 is way more stable also..
Anyways I put in my Windows 7 7100 DVD, restart the comp... I hit a key to boot from CD, it tries to boot and comes up with a screen that says:
"Windows boot Manager"
Error I/O
0xc00000e9
And I cant get 6801 off this comp. It's now starting be become unstable, it will blue screen and restart on my often.
I've installed Windows 7 from booting from the disk formatting my HDD, all went well until the installation restarted my machine. I then get the error 'sync out of range' message. I've read in other forums that the answer to this is to start in safe mode and update drivers or lower res, the thing is, is that on your first start from the installation it wont let me start in safe mode, it tells me the 'i cannot start for the first time in safe mode restart in normal mode.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having a lot of trouble getting my computer to stay on for more than a couple of hours ever since installing Windows 7. Since I got past reinstalling all my programs and started actually using the computer I noticed these error messages coming up when I was running iTunes and firefox at the same time. After a while of testing I discovered that in fact iTunes alone was enough to trigger the message. I have since discovered that in fact I don't need to be running anything, and the memory still runs rampant.
At first I thought this was a virtual memory issue. I tried turning that off, which made it worse. I then tried spllitting my virtual memory evenly between my non-system drives. This helped quite a lot, but still the computer will be unuseable after only a couple of hours depending on what I am doing. Eventually if try and continue using the computer the screen will just go completely black.
I have found that in Resource monitor even when I don't run any programs my 'modifed' memory and to some extent my 'In use' memory just climb and climb. I also note that wmpnetwk.exe appears to be using more than its fair share. It drops back every so often, but I have seen it climb to more than 1.5 gig while the system is idle. At the moment it has 4,002,098KB under 'Commit' and 1,155,960KB under 'Working Set'.
How to ID the Process that Issued a Error Message in Windows 7 ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Dell Inspiron Laptop with Windows 7 Home preium OS. Five days before my friend installed MS Visual Studio and Sql Server 2008 in my laptop. From that day onwards, whenever, i am switch on my laptop, a message ""This action can not be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "switch to" to activate the busy program and correct the problem". Eventhough Switch to button is clikced the Windows startup will raise up. After 10 to 15 times of click, the message dissaperas. Also, I am observing that my WiFi connection takes a long time to connect to my office internet after this. Previously, once the screen appears, this will turn and catch the connection immediately. Now, after this message dissappears, then only the WiFi is detecting the network. Now, I have uninstalled Visual studio and MS Sql server from my laptop but not from my registry still.
