Find The Program Thats Taking Up All The Bandwidth?
Dec 1, 2011
Seems like whenver I boot this computer up from sleep mode, it starts doing something that takes up a chunk of bandwidth. identify what is slowing down my Internet so much?
There is 3 PCs and 2 macbook in my house First, when i moved to the new house there is only my friend laptop n my PC It got 1MBps speed and everything is good Then, we got another housemate using Mac and PC, obviously the internet is slowing The speed is down greatly even i have to wait a lil bit to access certain site now, recently i've got a parasite who also uses mac n now i cannot access everything, even i can't even Access GOOGLE (COME ON!!)The time that I can access smoothly is when the mac user is asleep N the one who troubled is not only me, but my friend who uses Win Laptop Even now i have to wait 15 minutes (by continuously hitting refresh) to create this thread so, is Mac got strong antenna or some special feature to hog internet? And is there anyway to see who uses internet in the shared network?
I was wondering if there are any programs out to that I can have on my computer running in the background that watch how much comes in and out of my computer. I'm not looking for speeds of my upload and download (I have Raindrop for that), I want to know exactly how much I've gone through in a certain amount of time.
Cannot find 'file ///C:/Program%20files%20(x86)/Wajam/IE/res/wajam.html' make sure the path or internet address is correct. This just started this morning for every internet address I try to access.
Some application(s) on my computer is modifying of MP3 files. When I look at the time and date, on a mp3 folder that I haven't modified in months or years, it shows the current date and the last time it was modified.
This issue is messing up my local and online backup because it is backing up the same files over and over because something is modifying my folder/files.Is there a way to find out which program in modifying my mp3's? I am using Itunes 10 on Windows 7.
The issue here is all my programs would freeze and I was like wth is going on? So after it happened a couple of times, I finally figured out what was going on. The system was using cpu power ranging from 20 to 50 percent and my ram was using roughly 20 to 32 percent. The weird thing about this is my computer cpu usually is around 2-5 percent and ram is around 5-12 percent when doing normal day activities.I have a vortex 120 gb and I have it updated to the latest software. My hypothesis is that there is a system defragging working in the background because I see my hard drive space going up and down. It'll go down 20gb and go back up. Sometimes goes down a lot sometimes not that much.I have three programs and I've tried closing all three.
Bitdefender-no auto defrag Iobit advance system care- I turned auto defrag off but even it the settings it's already checkmark not to defrag ssd tuneuputilites- turned off auto defrag also and same thing as earlier, there's already a checkmark to not defrag ssd edit(forgot to mention that I turned system auto defrag off also)I ran antivirus scan and malware scan already with no luck.So here's where the big mystery comes into play. Even though there is cpu usage and ram usage when I go to windows task manager, I can't find anything that shows it's using ram and cpu even though it is.Very annoying with everything freezing. Even if I restart it still continues.
just wondering if it is possible to find out if a certain program was running on my computer at a given time. I'm not talking about a scheduled task, but I had a program running at night, woke up and it wasn't running, so is there a way to tell what time it was last running or stopped?
so again how do I fix this message that keeps popping up? windows cannot find 'C:Program FilesTOSHIBATPHMTPCHWMsg.exe'....last answer I go from you guys was not to us a pc cleaner. I have been trying to install a weather programme. I have had a lot of problems so un-installed it. When I try to manually delete a few remaining files I get a message that "Errorther instance of the program's .exe file is running. Program will be terminated." How do I find this to get rid of it? Nothing shows up outside of the programme files (x86) when I search.
I am having an import wizard problem in MS Access 2007. In trying to fix the problem, I am trying to register dao60.dll ans msado15.dll. Unfortunately, it doesn't recognize Program Files (x86) and the .dlls are not in Program Files
I recently formatted my computer and today i went to razer's website to download the drivers for my razer deathadder. During installation a driver came up asking my permission to install it says G-Spy. I clicked yes... =/ because i became accustomed to clicking yes to everything ugh! When I go to All Program, I cannot find Accessories in the list. I know it was between XPS Viewer and Corel Paint Shop, but it is not there anymore. Don't have a clue as to why it is gone. How do I get it back?
I am using 350 GB hard disk. C: is 100 which I am fine with.D: is 250 GB. (Though it is showing as 229 GB). I have used 74 GB of space in it. But "My computer" is showing as 7.8 GB free. I am unable to find what happened to another 160 GB. I did not find a way to identify which program/file is using this space?
Trying to trouble shoot the reason I can't open a pdf or create one with windows 7 - was working but hasn't worked since April. I have the latest Adobe Air and Adobe flash player 10 on my computer. I saw a post that said to change the default but I don't see the pdf extension in my list
when I <ctrl>B in WORDS 2010 I don't get what I should - i.e. bold font typing - but some unclear (to me) response. How do I restore the original function of <ctrl>B?
I was wondering this because i have an ssd for my boot, and a hdd for my storage. i am installing borderlands 2 on the hdd and i need to get to the program files. are they on the one on the c drive or where else? I am wondering because last time i looked i didnt see them there
i recently got a new hard drive in which the guy had to rewrite a partition on it. i updated all the drivers and for some reason i cannot install these two microsoft updates everytime i try it fails, and doesnt tell me why it fails, and when the hard drive and windows 7 was installed and it was working, all the memory on the local disk drive was taken up except for 200mb which is strange because it only had the OS installed and any windows essiantal programs.
svchost is using too much bandwidth. I am monitoring with NetLimiter 3 Pro. For example, from 5 to 6 AM it downloaded 268 MB and uploaded 6 MB. This is a problem since my internet provider sets a 400 MB/day download limit, so in less than 2 hours the limit is used up. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit with SP 1 installed.
This problem started a few months ago. I've had this computer since December. I'm having the same problem with my wife's computer (Windows 7, 32-bit).
I have checked for malware with Norton 360, Webroot, Windows Defender, and a few other freebee programs. Other than a few cookies with low threat levels and "Power Reg Scheduler" there was nothing there. I have removed these few items. I have also run Wisefixer, that fixed over 200 supposed registry errors. None of this has had an effect.
the screen will get very dim at the windows icon where it pulses against a black background..could this indicate I need a bigger power supply? (I read that somewhere recently, hehe)When I use my iphone, xbox, or any torrent program, my computer slows down and my mouse stutters for lack of a better term. It waits a few seconds before jumping to where ever it was that I moved my mouse. This is stopping me from using the computer when I watch netflix or anything else where data is being transfered. I'm not sure what Hijack This found, but here's the log it provides and if there's anything else I need to post, just let me know where to go and I'll post it here ASAP.
After installing a new Virgin Superhub and finding I had internet access I thought that everything was working fine but later on this morning I found out that my Home Network ie wifes pc and the broadband connection to my main television set was offline. After googling a while and finding an article at the Virgin Media site I found out that the Default setting when installing the virgin superhub was as a router which meant that it had blocked off my Buffalo Airstation router and hence the no internet on secondary PC and TV. I had to enter the admin pages of the Virgin superhub and re-install it as a cable modem and when I eventually rebooted my system, and after a couple of tweaks I finally had my home network up and running again. I use Comodo Dragon as my default browser and a couple of hours ago I noticed a slow up of my main Win7 OS PC broadband connection which shouldn't really be as I have upgraded from a 10Mb connection to a 30Mb connection and my internet has seldom hung like this. It seems to be an entry of svchost.exe that is causing the problem. I did a scan with Process Explorer screen shots below. The svchost entry with PID 1892 is linked to "Local System Network Restricted" and to the service Superfetch. On the Comodo CIS Summary screen at the same time I saw that even though Comodo Dragon is running it is not shown and again svchost is using 90+% of my bandwidth. And when checking the Firewall Events screen I saw that some of Comodo Dragons functions had been blocked.
