Mar 24, 2011In order to change the language on the web, I was told to go to Inernet Option - Browser - Language. Where can I find Internet Option? It is not among menu items on the internet.

Nov 10, 2012I got Windows Ultimate and decided to let it install language packs I don't need (I didnt actually know they'd take a huge amount of space). Part way through the installation I cancel one of the language packs and the whole update finishes (This was a fresh install). Now in the history it says some of the language packs installed successfully but in "control panel>Change Display Language" there is only English.I'm quite sure a few language packs did install because the SSD free space was shrinking after every install.

May 8, 2011I think I have some kind of malware. I am unable to use many functions on my computer, I always get the same error message "C:windowssystem32 strui.exe. The system could not find the environment option that was entered." I can't open system restore, because I get that same error message. I think its any .exe operations that I cannot use. My malware program won't open normally but when I tried it in safe mode, it didnt find any problems.
I also tried system restore in safe mode and from the boot screen, and it told me system protection was turned off, so I tried to turn it back on and the security tab that was needed to do this was missing. I don't have the windows 7 install disc because it was a factory install. I can't install any new programs and now I keep getting error messages saying I may have counterfeit software. In the bottom right corner of the desktop it says "Windows 7 Build 7600 This copy of Windows is not genuine".

Oct 1, 2011I just reformatted my computer and installed Windows 7 64bit. I can access the internet just fine on Google Chrome. I can download at the fastest speed my connection will allow. Some programs, 2 in particular, won't allow connections but others will. Examples are: Ventrilo, and PlayOnline will access the internet, but GSC and Final Fantasy XI will not allow connections. I've gone through the router and opened ports for them, disabled UAC and windows firewall. I do not have any other firewall or virus scanner installed yet as they interfered on previous systems setting up my commonly used programs. I've also tried running the programs as administrator to no avail.

Does anyone know how to change the looks of IE8, I have done system restore and all the other resets that I know. The page color changed, the layout has changed and it has all sorts of things I do not wish to have on the page, even the font size seems to have changed. I run Norton 360 2012 and have good protection.

Nov 25, 2009Ok so I have a fairly new computer that had Vista on it. I got the free upgrade and upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium. I've been using 7 for about 3 weeks now with no problems at all. Then out of nowhere approx 3-4 days ago, the internet doesn't seem to want to cooperate. Once in a while web pages wouldnt load and now most of the time my browser will fail to load any pages. I called my ISP tech support and everything is fine on their end, and I can confirm that I am indeed connected because I can play multiplayer games, use utorrent and occasionally msn messenger.I've tried both Firefox 3.5.5 (default) and IE 8. It appears that there is some conflict somewhere that is denying me internet access. I need this resolved ASAP since most of my school notes are online and it's midterm/finals time.
While talking to tech support I was advised that restoring windows to a backup may solve the problem. So I did that with a backup that was 3 days old and it worked for maybe an hour then I had the same problem.I should also note that I am NOT using wireless. I have a wired cable connection.When the browser does decide to work, I find that it is very slow. Even my download speeds on utorrent have decreased drastically.

Mar 24, 2011My Desktop is connected to my router vie WiFi and it says I have connection to the Internet. However, i cannot access any website, be it by typing in the name or the IP address.At the same time, I can ping all websites. I can find them via tracert, which also nicely resolves the IP adresses of any sites I type in. I also tried two different WiFi dongles (Cisco and D-Link) both have identical problems.I reset the winsocket and i tried to log in as another user - to no avail.To make things even stranger, I cannot even access the router (192.168.1.1), but i CAN access the NAS connected to the router (192.168.1.100).The laptop which is connected to the router via WiFi has no troubles accessing either the router or the outside world so I am fairly certain that the problem lies with my computer and not with the access point.My computer gets his IP via DHCP (fixed on 105) and is within the same subnetmask as the router and has the routers IP adress as standard gateway (all that via dhcp).

Sep 13, 2012On a Laptop with Windows Home Premium (Acer OEM) I have Windows Defender installedThen downloaded AVG Antivirus around 1:st week of August. After the end of trial period AVG asked me if I want to upgrade to paid version or remain using free version with restricted options. I chose to keep the free version.After som days Windows error center recommend me with a Flag to install a Antivirus product and offer a Web page with alternative product. I then wanted to try any other Antivirus product.I decided to try Bullgard Security, downloaded it and then started installation. During installation Bullgard ask me if it first should remove previous security products and listed Windows Defender and AVG as installed or if I want them to remain in the system.
I chose to leave them and get through with the installation and Bullgard then want to restart Windows. During login and start up procedures Bullgard installation program started automatically. Its asked again if I want to first uninstall the other security product. This time I answered Yes and was then asked if I want to uninstall the other product one by one. It then started AVG uninstall program. If You use default options AVG keeps some minimal security detection and remains on the computer. In the tray You see the AVG icon, but because it was in the normally hided section I didn't see that AVG was loaded after the Restart of Windows.Suddenly I couldn't reach any Web pages whit any browser, also I couldn't run installation program that download a part from the net before it could start installation so Bullgard couldn't bee installed.
Window says that I have Internet connection and You can use for instance Windows update and several programs update function. I first used AVG installation file to repair AVG. I then used normal Control Panel - Uninstall for AVG and AVG uninstall program started. I go to advanced options and chose to totally uninstall AVG and delete all user data. I also on another computer downloaded a AVG-tool that detects remaining AVG installation and files and then remove them. It couldn't find any thing.After next restart the http protocol error still remains, I first think it was faulty DNS settings for the network adapter and manually set them as another functional Laptven if I put in IP-address in the browser address field it says it can't reach that page and installation program that want to download parts from the Internet and for instance Spotify says that there is no Internet connection.

Also, when I see the blue screen, I read that the driver "anodlwfx.sys" (System security filter, or something like that) is causing the problem for every bsod, I removed the file from windows folder, and computer worked perfectly, but I coudn't go to the internet, the used system restore, to restore that missing file.

I am assigned an IP address fine.
