I use the Media Centre TV listings to record shows, but sometimes the guide lists information for a different episode than the one that is being aired. I am recording broadcast TV over the air. Is it possible to edit this information so that it is for the show actually aired? Even being able to edit the episode title and the original date aired would be a help in keeping track of what I have already recordrd.
View 1 RepliesWithin the last couple days, Media Center/Recorded TV has started displaying a message "WMC could not find any shared libraries on your network or there is no content in those libraries."The directory it uses to record is "C:UsersPublicRecorded TV" and I can see prior recordings and new recordings in this directory. If I go into "Tasks" and select this directory as a library it shows as already selected and tells me no changes will be made to my libraries list on selecting "finish".I can click on one of the recorded program files in file manager and it will launch WMC and play just fine - the recorded programs just don't show up in the WMC/Recorded TV where they should.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI use whs (both 2003 and 2011) to backup my Windows 7 media server, have several cablecard tuners, but if I ever need to restore (from earlier version) or even re-format this computer, recorded programs will not play again (cannot play recordings from another computer is the message). Any way of save/restore the current drm info before I restore from earlier version or even re-format????? Screen capture programs are crap.

I recently purchased a Leadtek DTV2000 H Plus TV tuner card. The card has many cool features, and is supplied with software from Leadtek.
I have managed to configure Media Center for the new card, however whilst I am using Media Center with my new card I am not able to access any program guides, to see what other channels are showing, determine what I want to watch next, etc.
Program guide information is displayed when I use the Leadtek software, just not when I am using Media Center.
If anybody has any suggestions on how to enable program guide information in Media Center it will be greatly appreciated.
I've tried loading media center but when I do I get the message "Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a software restriction policy. For more information, contact your system administrator." The computer is my home PC, I am the only administrator... I'm assuming one of the programs my buddy put on my computer is stopping the program from running. He said the programs would make my computer run better. I had to manually turn on windows media center before from my control panel before. I also tried running the program as admin or even finding the ehshell.exe and running it from their.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recently bought a computer from a friend (2nd hand). I ran msinfo32.exe in the run box and it shoot out the system information. On there I notice that the manufacture was incorrect and so it the model number. The desktop is a dell and the model is Inspiron 570 MT. I wanted to change it back to these vales but was unable to.I tried using regedit searching under to change data under the name Base Board Manufacturer, system family, system Manufacture and system product name. I've successfully replaced it with the correct manufacture and product name but as I recheck msinfo32.exe it was still unchanged. I tried restarting it hoping that it would refresh the msinfo32.exe but all it did was restoring all the data that I edited.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded my Media Centre from Vista x64 to Windows 7 x64.Previously when watching recorded TV I could use the skip fwd/back buttons on my remote &/or keyboard to skip fwd 30 secs, or back 7 seconds; however this no longer works. They do however work perfectly when watching/listening to Movies/Music.The on screen skip buttons still perform the same task (fwd 30s, back 7s).Reading other forum posts I gather this is because the skip buttons are looking for the next track and by its nature recorded TV doesn't have any tracks.Is there a way of editing the registry to reprogram the buttons to skip fwd a specified time frame when watching recorded TV? I'm using a logitech dinovo edge keyboard for which I've installed the latest drivers. I also use my iPhone with JumiMouse as a Remote and a Hauppage TV Tuner Remote, all the above have the same problem.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI'm in grave problem here. I just installed windows 7 x64 a few days back. And initially I installed the 32bit version of k-lite codec pack for my windows media player. The media center worked fine then. It was loading my ffdshow and ac3filter along as I checked it.But then yesterday I noticed that the same pop-up od recommended/express install of WMP came again. Initially I thought that it must be some bug or something, but then when my MKV and AVI files didn't work in WMC, I realized that somehow WMP x64 got triggered, and now it is using the x64 bit of WMP in WMC. And I just wanna revert back to 32-bit WMP in WMC.

This DVD player is an external player and I have no problem with playback on my Dual boot with Vista Home Premium.
Any suggestions?
I can't get eithe WMP or MC to play a DVD. I've set the region code. WMP acts like it will play, but then just goes blank, and MC says it cannot play the DVD. These are original discs, not burned copies. I have a custom built system, with 2 graphics cards (GTX 260 and a GT 220) 6 GB of RAM, and an i7 processor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently my music files [it might be with other types of files too, I haven't checked] have somehow changed the security setting so that I can't do anything with them, I can't edit the info in iTunes and I can't delete the files. About the only thing I can do is move the file. I have figured out how to fix this problem one by one with each file (going into properties, security tab, and changing the permissions), however, I've only been able to do this one by one and with each new file the same problem persists. Is there any way I can change some sort of setting or something that allows me to have full control over all files? I am the sole user of the computer, therefore I am the administrator.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi performed multiple googles. but for the life of me i can not find the regedit for the value that controls the timeout for programs that "appear" to be unresponsive. the exact problem.is that when a game is loading a map or something that like midway the games window title bar displays the Not Responding. and if you click it dulls out and window and brings up that prompt to end the program or wait for it to respond.
i know there is a regkey for a value somewhere that tells w/e windows uses to classify a program as not responsive in milliseconds. or some odd measure of time.
i just need the regkey for the timeout value. god i hope someone knows what i am talking about.

I used to run media centre wired and it worked fine. Trying to clean up cables running all over the place Ive tried wirelessly yet its almost to the point that it doesnt work at all as its incredibly slow and takes about a minute to react to controller input.Im running a TP-LINKTD-W8930N 300Mbps router.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHave a Dell Vostro 3500 running Win 7 32 bit. When trying to view a pdf from within IE, it will attempt to open it with Windows Media Center. Adobe Reader has been installed, and when checking file assocaitions in Windows and IE, they are set to Adobe Reader. Now, if you save the pdf to the desktop, or some other location on the hard drive, it will then open with Adobe Reader as it should.

On my main computer I have added my folders of music and movies to the libaray ....
In the HTCP remote computer I set the home group etc ... I open Media Center .. I can scroll to shared and see my main computer but non of the files appear.
I have gone to the main computer and checked share this folder etc ... Still cant view the files.
What am I doing wrong ?
While playing a DVD in Windows 7 Media Center (in version 7100, 7203, and 7260) that has been copies to the hard drive (in Video_TS format with AnyDVDHD-v6.5.5 running in the background), and using the My Movies plugin (tried both v2.54 and the new v2.55), if I press STOP on my Media Center Remote, the DVD stops, but is more in a Paused state. Let me see If I can clarify what is going on.
1. DVD's in Video_TS format play fine, can pause, FF, Rew, etc without any issues.
2. If I press stop, the DVD does stop. Then I would normally hit the BACK button to go back to the movie list. However, when I hit the BACK button I go to a new blank screen (with the media center blue background). I then hit BACK again, and am takin to a screen with movie details. If I hit BACK a third time, I would then return to the movie list.
3. However, once back in the movie list, I can see the stopped DVD in the lower left corner of the screen.
4. I can't seem to stop the movie like in Vista Media Center (which would automatically take me back to the movie list.
5. Also, if I click on the movie in the lower left corner of the screen, it comes up and starts the movie from where I left off. With Vista Media Center, a stopped movie would actually start over from the beginning.
Has anyone seen this problem, and know of a way to make it work like Vista Media Center?
