Drives me nuts when I'm trying to browse the internet...a bit of OCD I suppose. Is there anyway to disable it so the icons on the taskbar aren't lit up?

How do i disable the feature that says Print cartridges are not compatible on a HP Photosmart C309G Printer. The cartridges fit in the printer but do not have 4 copper contacts on the bottom. That may be the reason they won't work.
I got a new laptop (DELL XPS 172nd Generation Intel Core i5-2450M processor) recently and I had it returned for having lag spikes that would happen whenever it felt like. (gaming, videos, Reddit, etc.). Dell sent me a new computer that also has the same problem, lag spikes that give off a noise that you would expect from a transformer.
In various forums, including this one, I've seen users post questions about the same problem. But none of the solutions works on my Gateway laptop PC with Windows 7 and Elan pointing device. Here's the problem: My mousepad clicks without my clicking it.It has sent e-mails I wasn't ready to send, it has closed windows I didn't want closed, it selects text i didn't select and -- most infuriating -- it creates new insertion points in Microsoft Word documents wherever the cursor happens to be hovering (it does this when I pause typing momentarily. When I resume typing, the text is inserted in the different place in the document, usually in the middle of an already-completed paragraph.)

In device manager to disable mouse pad is grayed out. To uninstall it doesn't work because it just comes back when I reboot. (On another computer before this)This is a new 64 bit Lenovo win 7 home premium. I need to get rid of it because I accidentally use it when typing or something with the palm of my hand.
Does anyone know of anything that will fully disable mouse acceleration in W7? Turning the "precision" off in CPanel, and setting up Mouse keys to change the accelerate rates does not fully disable acceleration in all games. I have a g5 mouse and have tried using set-point to override the O/S, but that still does not fully disable it in all games.
I have a desktop running Windows 7 64. I have a problem with my mouse wheel. Every time I roll it forward slightly, I get the blue screen of death. How do I disable my mouse wheel? After I put my computer to sleep I can turn it back on by moving the mouse or touching the keys. How do I disable that? My wireless mouse is very sensitive, even glitchy, and sometimes the computer turns on randomly in the middle of the night. Now I have to turn off the mouse before putting the computer to sleep. My old DELL(XP) wakes by pushing the power button. How to I make it so that the computer only wakes after pushing the power button?
My computer at my work has Multi-screen, I've got 8 Monitor on my computer and I use them all to my work --the Primary is my desktop and the other 7 is for informations to my clients at work.

I'm not sure if this is a hardware or Windows 7 issue. Is it possible to disable the touchpad and click bar on a Gateway LT4004u by adding a USB mouse? An elderly user keeps resting her hand on the click bar and is having trouble using the touchpad to move the cursor.
Synaptic Lux Pad V7.4 on PS/2 Port. Cursor works but tapping and L.H click does not work. Everything working ok with an external mouse on USB. Re-installed driver program for above but same problem.
System: Toshiba Satellite A205 S4777 32 bit laptop w/ 2GB RAM, originally Vista Home Premium, clean install of Win 7 Home Premium.Since the clean install of Win 7 I no longer have the Synaptics touchpad listed in device manager. I found it's folder in Windows old files, which is the former Vista system. I copied it over to my Program Files in Win 7, but it still doesn't appearin device manager.I wouldn't care except for the fact that when I type on the keyboard the movement of my palms moves the insertion point or causes the screen to minimize. Could someone direct me as to the steps I need to take to re-install this touch pad?

It fails and after a reboot it reverts back to not installed. Some things I have tried. I completely removed all .Net installs, I ran the .Net cleanup utility
'The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available'. This is an error I get when I try to install the Games For Windows Live Marketplace onto my PC. From my understanding it may be because I am missing the Windows Installer Package .msi? Yet I cannot find a download that works with Windows 7... Is my assumption correct? Does anyone have a working link for Windows 7 64-bit? If not, what can I do about this irritating error that's stopping me from installing a fair few things. I also get messages whenever I install anything on steam, as, when it tries to mess with visual c+++ it tells me I am missing 'vc_red.msi' ...is this related?
I recently bought an Acer desktop computer running W-7. I cannot get either the Power Options or the Screen saver part to work. I set them but they do not hold.

HomeGroup is a new feature introduced by Windows 7 which aims to simplify the process of sharing content and devices on your home network. In older versions of Windows, sharing content was a tedious and sometimes painful process, especially for home users. By using HomeGroups, you can now access all shared content in your home network with just one click. I know it sounds to good to be true. That's why, in this article, I will show what a HomeGroup is, how it works, how to create one and join your home computers to it. Also, I'll show how to change the password of your HomeGroup and how to retrieve it in case you forgot it.
Libraries are one of the coolest features introduced by Windows 7. They can help people organize their files and folders very efficiently. By using libraries, you can easily build a system so that you can always find what you want in seconds. Not only that, but you can also sort, tag or edit files and folders with just a few clicks. In this article I will explain what libraries are, show how they work and how to create new ones. Also, I'll show how to add new folders to a library, how to modify its properties and how to delete a library.
Is it possible to emulate that "sliding" feature where you can switch to different windows so easily? I can't believe it's not a built in feature it would be so much easier to navigate through windows than having to point and click on them!
I've got an odd thing happening.. it seems the Jumplists feature has been turned off and I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn them back on.
I recall reading some time ago about a new feature in Windows 7 for user generated error reporting that would allow a user to record their desktop / take periodic screenshots while they replicated an error, which would then allow them to forward / email the report to someone who could offer help.
I can't seem to locate this feature in Windows 7 Ultimate, and i'm having trouble locating any articles talking about the feature.
