When I want to copy a text from a web page into Word , it will not copy the FULL page. From left to righ,t it will cut off about 10-15% of the document on the right side of the page.. I tried moving the arrows on the top of the page and it doesn't seem to help.
Suddenly, whenever I copy anything in Word 07, the copied text is bracketed with square brackets. They are gray color, and they are not reflected in the clipboard contents, so I believe they are non-printing characters.I have never had this happen before, and can't figure out what is going on.This occurs when using the mouse or CTRL-c to copy. It shows in Print, outline, and Web views.
Ok this is wierd I have a client using Office 2007 pro and some of her docs that she recently updated and the problem is when she prints the docs text that she deleted is printing over the top of new text she inserted into the doc.
Now when you have said doc open in WORD the deleted text is not there in any view and does NOT show in "print preview".
I opened said doc with WORDPAD and the deleted text shows up at the bottom so its still in the word doc somewhere imbedded so it prints over the top of the actual text in the doc.
Whenever I paste a image from web into MS word, MS Words says connecting the server for information, please wait or press Esc to cancel, sometime the copying takes anywhere from 30 sec to 1 min or more. Whats the purpose of connecting the server.
For some reason, auto text does not work in one document that I have with a letterhead. Sometimes it does and other times not. The auto text options are all there but they do not work if I type the first three or four letters. They do work, however, if I open a blank document, but not in this particularly letterhead.I know when I first starting using the new computer, it asked me about saving the normal doc on this particular document and I don't remember if I did or did not. After that I believe is when it was no longer Only with this particular document with letterhead. I tried deleting the normal doc and copying from another computer, but still the same problem.
In word 2010, I have a table of contents page and I justified the text to give it a clean look so that chapter headings are in line as well as the page numbers. When I print the page my printer does not print the justified text. Is this caused by my printer or is it in word? and how can i fix it?
For unknown reason, I suddenly encountered problem with highlighting text on Internet Explorer (8) and words document (office 2003). I also have problem with dragging a cell (for copying a formula) to other cells in excel. I tried to play around with my keyboard (pause/break and scroll lock key), sometimes it worked for once, but I it won't work the next time I tried.
FYI, I am using windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and a razer keyboard (using windows default driver). I probably can try to install the driver from razor, however, i thought there is probably a simple fix for the issue i.e. a certain key from the keyboard got activated by accident (my little daughter sometimes punched the keyboard for fun).
I am trying to create a template with specific styling to be used by our group. Any document created with this template should be saved to a shared network folder. I'd like to know if this is possible...When I right click on my template and choose NEW, the resulting document should use...- the default text font face, size and colour that I specified.- the default paragraph spacing and indentation rules that I specified.
I would like to know if its possible (and how to do it if so) to justify a paragraph of text in Word 2007 to gradually get narrower. What I mean is, id like the first line of text to be longer than the one after and so on until I end up with something like this,I want the 2nd line to start further to right of first line and end closer to left and so on. Im struggling to show an example but hope you know what I mean. Basically centre justified but going down in a V shape
I have a project where I need to search a large amount of text files on my home PC. I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. My research indicated this feature was available in Windows 7.
If you do a search in Windows XP, you get a bunch of fields. You can pick to search for text INSIDE the particular sub folder structure.
I have found this feature in Windows 7, but it is different. I have tried using wild cards but it does not seem to work properly.
All of the sudden, when I want to copy and paste something in the same document, the formatted text (whether that be a certain font or bold) does not transfer over to the pasted text. For instance, if I wanted to copy the following bolded word word and then paste it anywhere else in the document, I now get this: word (without the bold). This applies to other cutting and pasting problems: this applies to other fonts and formatting (bold, my Greek font, etc). One more example: before today, if I wanted to cut a text out of my New Testament Greek program right in the middle of a paragraph, the Greek font (or whatever font) would paste normally no matter what font the target MS Word text was in.
I normally use Word 2003 for documents, although I use Outlook 2010. This morning I opened a Word 2010 document and after quite a while of some sort of an installation, I was able to open the Word 2010 document. I did not think too much of it, except that later I was sending an e-mail and attached a Word 2003 document and when I went to check it (i.e. open it up) it opened in Word 2010. How do I disable Word 2010 as my default program to open Word documents. I do not want to uninstall the program, but at this point I am not ready to learn how to use Word 2010.
Have been using WORD 2007.But, I just downloaded and installed Open Office. But I only want to use it for its Spreadsheet. However, it looks like its word processing component has taken over. Now, my WORD documents are being opened by Open Office which I do not want. How can I make WORD the Default word processing program (again)?
how I can copy my Favorites from one PC to another? I've just had a new PC that's running on Windows 7 with IE9 and I'd like to get my Favorites from my old PC that runs on XP and IE8.
I'm being a little lazy and I know the answer already, but I'm asking anyway in the vain hope.....
One of my HDD's is failing quickly and I 'suspect' that it's the current drive that the beta is installed on (although I'm still not certain) and rather than go through all the nuisance of partitioning / installing on another drive, is there a way to copy the current install (6801) holus bolus to another drive and repair / modify the boot records / registry to make it function?
Alternatively, could I make a bootable image and use that to re-install on a new drive? I've never created an 'image' so that's new territory for me.
As I said, I doubt it's possible but as I've already spent days 'setting up' 6801, I really don't feel like doing it all again so soon, but the way my rigs been acting up, I may not have a choice.
(I've already installed a total of 5 fresh installations in the last couple of days and it's getting time consuming and tiresome)

I have a folder called Mystuff on the Desktop which contains all my files. I try to copy to a folder named Backup on Drive D, but it wants to copy only files that have changed since my last copy.I have tried doing a 'send to' to Documents but it does the same thing. How can I copy all files in the folder to Drive D then to USB Drive H? It seems I was able to do this up until recently has something in WIN 7 changed?
the last hour I was organizing all my bookmarks on Firefox 5 into folders and sub- folders.I had to do a lot of copying and pasting, and I noticed firefox was not responding everytime I copied or pasted.for example I was copying and pasting folder with thousands of bookmarks(2000-12K)And it wasn't fast! I am quite disappointed with the performance. Not only that, but after I finished copying when I selected one of the bookmarks in the folder, it was not responsive for a few seconds.copying, pasting, and selecting took between 10s to 1m!!! This is a lot of time to wait just to move bookmarks around!
I have LiveMail on my machine at home and at work. Sometimes a new mail address or correction comes into one and I want to copy it to the other. Since LiveMail has no way to save a single item and then transfer it, I want to be able to copy the entire "contacts.edb" to my other machine. But since the "users" directories are not quite identical, it doesn't take, LiveMail shuts down and reboots with the old contacts file.
Emptying the contacts and reimporting will not do. For one thing, I have Chinese characters inside the names and addresses, and these are all stripped on the reimport. For another, it seems a time-consuming solution.
Adding everything just duplicates the entries.
Is there some easy way to do this? I tried copying both the ebd and the pat files, but they contain directory links particular to each computer.
I've just got a new PC and while trying to copy over files from my old computer, I keep getting various BSODs (codes 24, A and others). These happen either during copying files between harddisks, or just creating RARs on harddisks. I suspected the old harddisks first, but the errors keep popping up even after disconnecting the old drive and just working with the new one. So after reading around on the forums a bit, my guess are a faulty harddrive or RAM. I already ran a chkdsk /r /f on all drives. I also tried the Windows built-in memory check with the default settings, which didn't seem to turn up any errors. I will try Memtest86 next. However, it would be nice if anybody else could have a look at the dump files, maybe it's something else entirely?
System Specs: Windows 7 Professional 64bit OEM, original installation System installation/age: a couple of days
On my main SSD HD (Win 7) my new ATI drivers failed to install and subsequently I get the BSOD when it tries to boot windows. I've tried using the Win 7 DVD to repair it and tried to Safe Boot but both options have failed. But I've installed Win 7 on another drive I had kicking around and was able to successfully install the same ATI drivers.
Now is there a way I can just copy over the good drivers over onto the original drive
We update our client's software *.exe programs by storing the update code in a blob record in a server based MySQL database.
When the user logs on to the main program on his PC, if there are updates, a dialog message displays and the updates are written from the server to the local directory -- the same directory as the main program resides.
This has worked very well on XP (where we used *program files* as the directory). It has also worked fine in vista and 32bit windows 7 (where we use the user's app data oaming directory.
On Windows 7 64-bit however, the update fails. It opens the file name of the updated program with zero bytes and then displays the message:
"Could not write to... c:Users[user]AppDataRoaming.. etc."
I've tried running the main program as administrator. I've turned off UAC. I suspect this is a security issue, but is there any workaround?
I was transferring several 3GB files from one computer to another over a wired network. On one file, about 80% through, a message box came up saying there was a problem with the transfer. Two options: "Try Again" and "Cancel". Hit "Try Again", the progress bar finishes, and the file disappears from both computers. Search of entire hard drives finds nothing. What happened and why? Recovery software will probably not help me because both disks have been written to since the error.
i noticed something really strange. i tried copying three iso files from my laptop to my external HDD. the problem is that after one iso is copied the copying process stops and resumes again after a pause and after that it pauses again and the third file starts. why it pauses to copy? i tries usb 3.0 and 2.0.in usb 3.0 the spped is around 94-95K Mbps. but once it starts to copy the second iso it drops to around 30K Mbps.its same with both the external HDDs.
I am trying to copy some files to my external hard disk but some certain files doesn't want to move or copy at all no matter how many times I have tried. I also formatted my HDD to NTFS but no result.
