View 0 Replies View RelatedI know I can change all the icon sizes. I was wondering if its possible to have different sized icons on the desktop at the same time? Either inherently through windows 7 or through a 3rd party app? I'm running a business, I would like to have all business related icons large and all the others small.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get several peoples opinion. I believe that a small disk that is bootable similar to a ssd is better that a large one full of data. There is less disk to deframent and it should be faster. The larger data disk will contain most of the files many of which will not be used a large part of the time. One can keep larger files such as pictures or videos in that data disk. I probably prefer a small ssd(less than 100GB) but am not sure that is the best way to go right now. Later on when the price and quality of ssd goes down I could substitute that drive for the small hd partition or drive.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running Office 2010 on Windows 7 64-bit. I just created my first PowerPoint presentation containing 30 slides, all containing images, with a total of 35 images overall. All of the images together add up to less than 6 MB. During the creation of the slides I was careful to follow the guidelines for Sizing Digital Images For Powerpoint. However, when I save the presentation to disk, it is over 55 MB! I have tried to Compress Pictures from the Format toolbar-- no effect. In fact, file size of the presentation was larger after this. If I go to File>Info>Optimize Media Compatibility, this option is GRAYED OUT and does not work! I want to be able to send this presentation as an email attachment, but 55MB is way too big!
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to find the registry key that will change the desktop icon size to small.
This is mainly for new users, or for the default user. I have workstations that have several people sharing them and need this for everyone.
I have looked in these locations: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsShellBags1DesktopIconSize And HKey_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktopWindowMetricsShell Icon Size I played with both these settings for myself, and the desktop icons do not change. If I reboot, the first key value goes back to 32, and the second key stays at 96. But my icons never change in size. I am looking for any way to do this in the registry. I could try copying the ntuser.dat but fear I will still have issues with paths, and other defaults that will cause the same problem I had originally.
I need to split a folder containing several levels of subfolders into dvdr sizes for backup. I would like to retain not only the folder name but subfolders names.
Ex. C:PicturesSummer is 7gb and i would like to split it into C:folder1picturessummer and C:folder2my picturessummer
Any one know of a util? RAR/ZIP is an option but I would really like viewable access to the files on any disc. The folder I need to split is quite large 70GB.

I've been trying to find a way to change the default icon size in Windows 7. My machine defaults to 'small' icon size, but I prefer the 'large' one, in just about every case. Instead of needing to manually change the size for each individual folder, is there a way I can set 'large' to be the default for all folders? I couldn't find anything in the control panel and haven't been able to find anything about setting a default size yet.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just got a new laptop with windows 7. Every thing is fine except all programs are working fine and I can see everything on the screen on all programs, except one! That would be a camera program by canon called camrera launcher. The image is so large I cannot get to the bottom to operate the controls. If I change the resolution that messes up every thing else. So I need to fix this screen....
