View 1 RepliesI'm posting this on my phone so it may be sloppy , but anyways.my Internet just ran out 2 days ago and I just got it renewed. At first my Internet didn't work so I called the company and got it fixed. They activated my internet and now it says I'm connected but whenever I use something that requires Internet it won't load. Also now there is a 2 infront of the name my network has now

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Desktop is connected to my router vie WiFi and it says I have connection to the Internet. However, i cannot access any website, be it by typing in the name or the IP address. At the same time, I can ping all websites. I can find them via tracert, which also nicely resolves the IP adresses of any sites I type in. I also tried two different WiFi dongles (Cisco and D-Link) both have identical problems.I reset the winsocket and i tried to log in as another user - to no avail. To make things even stranger, I cannot even access the router (192.168.1.1), but i CAN access the NAS connected to the router (192.168.1.100).The laptop which is connected to the router via WiFi has no troubles accessing either the router or the outside world so I am fairly certain that the problem lies with my computer and not with the access point. My computer gets his IP via DHCP (fixed on 105) and is within the same subnetmask as the router and has the routers IP adress as standard gateway (all that via dhcp).

I have a Compaq Laptop It run on Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit. It is having this problem that the wireless internet won't connect, I have done system restore so many times and every time it still won't work, sometime it will.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt's "connected" on the base computer, my desktop. However, my laptop has that annoying spinning circle thingy for a bit, then shows the bars with the exclamation point.I have absolutely NO internet access because of this. I don't understand...it worked before in this same setup! Same password, same ad-hoc/computer-to-computer network, same PCI wireless card and antenna.
View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically my internet explorer doesn't work. It just hangs on loading pages and eventually gets this error:
"This program cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes: You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address."
I can still access the internet through chrome and Firefox though so it's an IE issue. I also can play online games fine.
Anyway, programs like Skype that use IE to load stuff such as adding contacts doesn't work. I have tried the following things:
-Reset internet explorer
-Downgraded to IE8
I am running windows 7 32 bit and am on cable.
sometimes on internet explorer in windows seven my back key (above on the left of internet explorer) doesn't work. I click on it but nothing happen like I do not click on it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm copying and pasting my original post from SevenForums:I am certain that my Internet problems are resultant from a virus that I had downloaded. A friend and I determined that the virus was a Sirefef variation.Whenever I try to connect to any website in any browser aside from Internet Explorer x64 (Chrome, Firefox), the page will not load, and in Chrome, I get the following:This webpage is not availableThe webpage at <any url here> might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.Error 137 (net::ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED): Unknown error. Firefox does not give any error message, aside from stating that it cannot connect to the webpage.I have run: MBAM (found some things; removed), TDSSKiller (found nothing), Microsoft Security Scanner (found some things; removed), and SUPERAntiSpyware (found nothing). When attempting to update, MBAM displays this error: I have tried "netsh winsock reset" and a few variations, and none have worked. My firewall seems to be bugged, but I do not know how to fix it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue that has been an on and off problem for the past month. I currently am using a browser called torch which is a chrome style browser. But my main browser is firefox. Whenever firefox is open I cannot browse the web and when I try web pages do not load on any browser that I try to use, although I am able to use both ipads that are in the house and any applications/programs works fine with the internet. View 1 Replies View Relatedalright so my laptop used to run windows 7, but had to reinstall operative system and only had a xp cd lying around, so i installed that. Problem is now that i need drivers to get the internet and usb ports working, but have no way of getting the files on the computer I tried to burn the files onto a cd, but when i insert it and open it, the cd shows as empty. Btw the cd was burned from another laptop with windows 7 if that is of any importance?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 Home Premium on my sister's laptop, and when I was completing the first updates (like 100 of them), the computer gave me blue screen. I turned the computer back on and the internet wouldn't work at all! I reinstalled windows 7 again, and this time I didn't do any updates. I went to the device manager and selected the Atheros AR5007 driver and selected "update". Halfway through, the computer gave me BSOD. I rolled back the driver to previous version and all works well now.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhile struggling to get rid of the win7 security 2012 virus I believe I accidentally deleted a registry key that had to do with my internet instead of one of the ones for the virus. I am not very tech savvy but I can navigate around a computer fairly well with the right guidance. I did not make a copy of the registry keys before attempting to edit them, and for some reason I have no restore dates before I made this mistake to use system restore. Now whenever I open my internet browser (internet explorer 8) I receive a: internet explorer cannot display this webpage. I have connectivity with my router but limited access. I tried trouble shooting and got a message saying there was an error with the DNS. Possibly just a list of what registry keys could possibly cause just my internet to go down. If I can find out which one I deleted I should be able to manually type it in.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI re-installed my copy of windows 7 Home Premium, went to HP's website and installed the drivers I thought were needed. My network controller still displays the little yellow triangle. Wireless doesn't work at all, and wired just says "internet unavailable" (something along those lines) and has the yellow triangle next to it. I tried re-installing the network controller drivers but it seems they are installed because it just asks if I would like to uninstall or repair. Heres the page I downloaded drivers from. All the links seem to take me to the same drivers, I believe my model is HP ENVY 14t-1000. Tried downloading the drivers for HP ENVY 14t-1000 CTO Notebook PC, and HP ENVY 14-1000xx Notebook PC so far no luck.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhenever I connect to my wireless internet, be it when booting up the computer or changing to it via the modem cables, it refuses to work. The only way it works is if I click on the network computer in the bottom right corner and then troubleshoot for a couple mins, until the computer automatically fixes the problem. Im guessing a service or something isn't working.Ive tried buying new modem to wireless modem cables but still no luck. Obviously using Windows 7 (Ultimate)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI formatted both my laptop and desktop computer. When i did with my laptop, everything was great. Wireless still worked. Of course i have my linksys router connected to get the wireless.
I then formatted my desktop. Its a dell. When i did this, everything seemed great. However, i noticed that if i remove my wireless router and just connect my cable modem wired, it works. However, when i connect my wireless router, then my wireless internet works but my WIRED connection does not work. It has this message that says can't connect.
I don't think this has ever happened before. I mean, there were many times where my desktop got formatted and my wired internet worked and i could not get my wireless connection to work. But never had i had my wireless work and my wired connection not work. The one thing i did this time was after i installed the drivers with my windows cd, i then deleted the old windows file that was about 25 gb.
I was fixing a laptop that was having several issues, (special keys wouldn't work properly, internet explorer would crash, PDF files wouldn't open, etc) and I found a suspicious file (C:User<user>AppDataRoamingElofenmoma.exe) that was booting on startup. Virustotal hit me with only 3 results for a trojan, which is actually quite low, but this file was clearly the problem, the details seemed to be in russian and it's Regedit entry was random letters.
So I cleaned all evidence of this file and now the keyboard works properly, but I'm still having problems with executable. Most of the times when I open a program nothing shows up, yet the process is running, after opening it 3 or 4 times one window finally opens, but there's still 3 or 4 idle processes before it with no window in sight. Some times when I force close the first process all the other windows suddenly show up. I also noticed that the processes for setups, chrome, internet explorer tend to stay idle even after closing them normally (in the program itself, manually closing the process works).Usually I would just format the PC, but this is a very complicated PC to format, the owner has tons of certificates that he needs and most of them he doesn't even remember how to reinstall them again.
My friends tell me that they are using Internet Boosters and tells me that this really works. And i don't know if its true. Maybe they thought it boosts their internet because they think it really does. So people, does this softwares for boosting the internet really work? if it does, can you give me a reliable one?

anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.
1) there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter
there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!
