Adjust Screen Resolution To 1680 X 1080 (recommended For 17" Laptop)
Apr 12, 2012
I want to adjust my screen resolution to 1680 x 1080 (recommended for 17" Laptop). But the only option available is 1366 x 780. How do I get additional options?
well i downloaded Windows 7 and now everything is HUGE. It says the size of my monitor does not meet the requirements to run over 600 resolution. however, i have a monitor well capable of running that.
I have a dell 2300 and the only drivers i can find are for xp on their site. I have been told maybe the graphics card is not strong enough, however, it is only 4 years old. Is it that big of a deal.
I need some help. I am not currently at my computer but i will update with system stats. when i get back.
I am using windows 7 professorial for my clients . Usually this PCs are connected to Tv Screen that play some media contents .this media needs to be run under 1920x1080 resolution .sometime we my customer turn off the TV , or unplug the cable it reset the resolution to default like 1280x720 Is there any way to "lock" the screen resolution at 1920 x 1080 and not leave this up to Windows?
I have a Dell E197FP Monitor I hooked up to my new Windows 7 box. Windows won't give me a resolution over 1280 x 1024, even though I was running at a higher resolution on my XP system before. I know Win 7 supports higher resolutions, because it gave me higher options when hooked to a CRT monitor I used first.
My laptop screen was procken and I replace it with a new screen. The new screen show more brightness and rong color compare with any other screen. Do I have to give the screen back to the company or I could adjust the color. the new screen is LG for example the yahoo messenger windows look reddesh Violet on any computer, but on my new laptop screen look blu Violet. Also in general the view is more lighter color more brighter than normal you feel a little fant.
I have an eeepc 1000he with a viewsonic 22inch screen VX2255wmb. I have been using both for a while now with the dual screen setup without any problem. Since a couple days now, my external monitor won't show the optimal resolution which is 1600*1050. In the screen resolution set up page in windows 7,
it used to highlight the optimal ones that respected the aspect ratio of the screen but now it just shows all of them and when I set it up at 1600*1050, I get an error message on the external monitor saying that the configuration I chose is out of range. Now the highest resolution I can use is 1400*1050.
I dual boot with windows xp and I don't have this problem with it. I didnt use any driver for both Os, just plugged the monitor in and it worked.
My desktop pc upstairs has a screen resolution 1900x1600, my laptop downstairs 1920x1080 (fullHD). When i open a RDP from the laptop to my desktop upstairs the screen is full size on the laptop but the icons and everthink is small, can this be bigger?
i have toshiba laptop satelliet P205-S7469 my screen resolution is coming very bad after i download window seven so how can i permanently avoid this problem?
I am using windows seven ultimate. I have accidentally choosen Display 2. In the screen resolution and now my laptop doesn't start in normal mode. Its like I have to connect to an external display like a laptop to view my Desktop. I can only access it using safe mode..
But in the last couple months, once in a blue moon I couldn't change my screen brightness, and now in the last couple days it's gotten a whole lot worse. Usually, I can't change brightness either via my 'fn -/+' hotkeys or via the actual brightness slider in the power panel. A full reboot or simple hibernation then reboot both let me change brightness again. But the last couple days, restarting the computer just puts the brightness on either fully dimmed or fully bright, and I still can't change it.
This is an HP G60 laptop, and I've had windows seven for a year on it. Like I said above it only started a couple months ago then got worse this week, and what I've found on google so far was all for newly-updated-to-seven issues. My drivers all seem to be up to date according to the windows update driver function.
So here is my problem. I have an Acer Aspire 4540 laptop that I recently repaired after laying in my closet with a broken display for some time. So I took it to a repair center and got my new 14' LED display installed. Everything on my laptop is working fine, even my screen is working fine. The only issue I've noticed is that when I try to increase or decrease my screen brightness it cycles between the max and min settings rather than dimming or brightening respectively.
Now, I know I've had this issue before but I can't remember if it was already like this before the screen broke. I have tried rolling back, uninstalling and reinstalling my drivers several times yet the issue is still there.
Im running on Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and my graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD4200.
I know this is a small issue but I need to fix it since I spend a lot of time in front of my laptop.
On my old dell inspiron 8600, after I installed Windows 7 ultimate and update the video driver, I can adjust the highest screen resolution to 1920 x 1200.
but everytime when I restart the laptop, it will go back to 1280 x 1024
My Samsung laptop's mousepad is so sensitive that I can just barely brush against it and it takes me to who-knows-where, and it's extremely aggravating. I can't find anywhere in the mouse settings to adjust the mousepad - just the mouse pointer and hardware.
I am having an Acer Aspire 1680 notebook with an AC'97 compatible soundcard apparently from Conexant, however unfortunately Windows 7 does not seem to recognise it automatically. I can install the XP drivers successfully but then all playback is stuttering and laggy. I also searched for Vista AC97 drivers respectively Vista Conexant drivers but they all do not appear to be compatible.
Does anybody know whether there is a working driver for Windows 7?
i'm having some trouble with my screen resolution . i set it at (800x600) cause i'm using a 51 inch big screen hd tv. it go's full screen but then for no reason it puts the bars back on the sides of the screen. i checked and it still reads (800x600) and i can't get it to change back to full screen until i reboot. works fine in vista . i'm not seeing anything about drivers failing so i'm not sure what's happening.
i have just purchased an LG W2261Vits native resolution is 1920 x 1080when i connect my win 7 machine - using my vga cable on my toshiba satelite u300, using Mobile Inte965 Express Chipset i cannot get it to use 1920 x 1080the max resolution is 1680 x 1050list all modes does not show 1920 x 1080
Does anyone use there 1080p HDTV as a monitor? If so do you think that the font's, icon's and the rest of the display make things apear to small although you have more room on screen etc?.
for the past month i have had an issue where before the log in screen would show, it would be a blank screen with a cursor, that i could move. (It worked normal in safe mode) I normally would just ignore this problem and it seemed to go back to normal after a little while. Well yesterday it didn't go away, so i went online looking for a solution, in safe mode. I've read to disable/enable drivers, re-install drivers, just plenty of things. And the result of all this is that my screen resolution wont go back to normal, and there is a black border around my screen, around a half inch. Also, my computer has been running EXTREME slow lately.
I have a 42 inch Sharp LCD TV, and a Lenovo T500 laptop running windows 7 as my main OS. I use VGA to connect to my TV. Any attempt to display 1920 by 1080 on my TV results in my TV telling me to switch to 1600 by 1200 because the video mode is not supported. 1920 by 1080 works fine on windows XP, same machine, same TV.
Games would not run well at 1920 by 1080, so I've ignored it up till now (because I tried several times and cannot get it to work). I like 1920 by 1080 for writing code though. Any way to fix this?
video card:
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
Switchable graphics is currently disabled.
Windows 7 version: release candidate (it's free) (32 bit, yay for unused RAM)
I have recently been running my computer for really long periods and have only just turned it off last night. When I turned it on this morning it did a file corrupt scan which sometimes randomly happens. When windows fully loaded the screen resolution had been changed, almost to safe mode resolution.
So iI have tried changing the resolution (Normal is 1920x1080), with no luck. Even though it says it is on 1920x1080 (recommmended), I know for a fact that it's not actually that resolution. You can tell by this photo that the desktop is way to large for 1920x1080. Unfortunetly I do not have a photo of my original desktop resolution .I have installed the latest NVIDIA graphics driver, and it is the right driver for my card. Also checked all windows updates.
I have just purchased a 9600GT which is capable of a resolution of 2560x1600 but my monitor is only stated to be 1680-1050, My question is this, would it do my monitor any damage to force upon it the said 2560-1600?
i have used to connect to my pc (vista x64 Radeon 4670) through vnc that is connected to a fullhd tv via hdmi. When i shut down the tv nothing happened to the screen resolution when connected through vnc but now with Windows 7 x64.
when i turn off the tv the resolution changes to some lower and i cant use the whole 1920x1080 and after turning the tv on again it resizes to the full resolution but with icons on desktop without any order! Is there any way to Windows 7 not automatic change resolution when turning off the tv like in vista?
, i am running windows 7 on a flattron lg screen my resolution does not look right. my computer has me at 800x 600 is that the right setting i thought it was1024x600
I have tried everything to keep the screen resolution at it's max but to no avail. When I change pages the screen reduces to a small size. After repeated attempts to keep the screen size to it's fullest the size changes back to small. Yes, I had done everything that the help section said to do and hit the apply button and keep changes. It only stays for a one page then reverts back to the small screen.
i recently upgraded my OS from winxp sp3 to win7 pro. Before the upgrade my native screen resolution is 1360x768 and after the upgrade, it has changed to 1900x1080, i dont like the change although it gives me bigger space on my desktop, but it seems everything on my screen are smaller than before. I always design in photoshop and when i make banners, its really small i dont see the details. I tried to change the resolution back to 1360x768 but when i do, its not that sharp, kinda blurry.
