View 2 Replies View Relatedive just recently installed Windows 7 Build 7100 on my eMachines E525 laptop, & i can't adjust the screen brightness with the 'fn' key anymore.
View 9 Replies View RelatedBut in the last couple months, once in a blue moon I couldn't change my screen brightness, and now in the last couple days it's gotten a whole lot worse. Usually, I can't change brightness either via my 'fn -/+' hotkeys or via the actual brightness slider in the power panel. A full reboot or simple hibernation then reboot both let me change brightness again. But the last couple days, restarting the computer just puts the brightness on either fully dimmed or fully bright, and I still can't change it.
This is an HP G60 laptop, and I've had windows seven for a year on it. Like I said above it only started a couple months ago then got worse this week, and what I've found on google so far was all for newly-updated-to-seven issues. My drivers all seem to be up to date according to the windows update driver function.
well i downloaded Windows 7 and now everything is HUGE. It says the size of my monitor does not meet the requirements to run over 600 resolution. however, i have a monitor well capable of running that.
I have a dell 2300 and the only drivers i can find are for xp on their site. I have been told maybe the graphics card is not strong enough, however, it is only 4 years old. Is it that big of a deal.
I need some help. I am not currently at my computer but i will update with system stats. when i get back.
My laptop screen was procken and I replace it with a new screen. The new screen show more brightness and rong color compare with any other screen. Do I have to give the screen back to the company or I could adjust the color. the new screen is LG for example the yahoo messenger windows look reddesh Violet on any computer, but on my new laptop screen look blu Violet. Also in general the view is more lighter color more brighter than normal you feel a little fant.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo here is my problem. I have an Acer Aspire 4540 laptop that I recently repaired after laying in my closet with a broken display for some time. So I took it to a repair center and got my new 14' LED display installed. Everything on my laptop is working fine, even my screen is working fine. The only issue I've noticed is that when I try to increase or decrease my screen brightness it cycles between the max and min settings rather than dimming or brightening respectively.
Now, I know I've had this issue before but I can't remember if it was already like this before the screen broke. I have tried rolling back, uninstalling and reinstalling my drivers several times yet the issue is still there.
Im running on Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and my graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD4200.
I know this is a small issue but I need to fix it since I spend a lot of time in front of my laptop.
On my old dell inspiron 8600, after I installed Windows 7 ultimate and update the video driver, I can adjust the highest screen resolution to 1920 x 1200.
but everytime when I restart the laptop, it will go back to 1280 x 1024
I will need to manually adjust that back.
Does anyone know how to fix that problem?
My laptop is using NVIDIA Geforce FX Go5200 card.
I want to adjust my screen resolution to 1680 x 1080 (recommended for 17" Laptop). But the only option available is 1366 x 780. How do I get additional options?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the HP notebook I own adjusted to max resolution (1366 x 768)- "recommended". I have to scroll over to see everything, on any screen. Tried to adjust- other settings only make the screen larger. I want it smaller, so everthing fits on ONE normal page size- no scrolling required to see all of display.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just updated my Sony Vaio Laptop to windows 7 from xp home. Everything is working fine apart from the viewable window size. There is a black sourround around any viewable screen about an inch thick, I have tried to adjust the resolution and the max available is 1024 x 768. Font size is set to smaller but still this very annoying screen remains.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have installed Team Fortress 2 and Combat Arms EU on to my Asus F7Se laptop with the Radeon HD 3400 series graphics card and when ever I run either game the screen resolution goes all screwy! It is like when you are watching a 4:3 TV program on a 16:9 TV.
All of my settings are correct within Windows and the game. I have noticed that when I start a game there is a message that windows is changing the theme back to basic (or something like that).
Yesterday I turned on my desktop PC and the desktop screen, all the icons and the toolbar was much larger than they have ever been before. I have searched the forums and they all say to change the screen resolution. I have checked this and it is 1024 x 768 and the dpi is 100% at 96. I have tried clicking the desktop and scrolling the mouse back too but nothing has worked. Another forum suggested upgrading the graphics driver which I did but that just made it worse so I uninstalled that. I also did a System Restore and that didn't work either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I open WMP12 with a shortcut, it opens a nearly full-size window in the center of my screen. When I open a wmv file such as I get with an email, the window that opens is in upper left corner of my screen and is about 2" square. I always drag it to nearly full-screen size and watch it and then close, hoping that it will retain the final size. Not so. I have looked for settings to correct this in both Windows and WMP, but have obviously missed something, as often happens. Suggestions?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way in which you can change the size of the user picture in the logon screen... What I mean here... is that, no matter the picture you use for it, the logon screen shows it at a "fixed" size... but sometimes, it is shown in a little frame, while in other PC's, you can see it bigger... I don't know if it's matter of resolutions... I hope I'm getting understood. is there a way to control or change that?See ya!!!

Some of the windows wont appear in their full size on my screen. for example, on open office org, I have a document that needs recovering, and every time i open the program the window pops up. i cant get to the ok button though, because the full window doesn't appear on my screen size.

Windows are restricted to a part of the whole desktop. Please note that the explorer window in the attached picture is maximized, but not occupying the whole desktop as expected! (In fact I can move windows to the right side, but not maximize to it. Also when moving windows there, it snaps *not* to the edge of the screen but to to the same wrong line where the edge of the maximized window is.)
What is this? What causes this? How can I disable this? Only restart helps by now..
