Windows Live Mail Will Not Open / How To Save Email Database
Oct 13, 2011
I am using Windows 7 in a Dell Inspiron and my live mail on my desktop will no longer open. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but my battery went dead while the computer was on two days ago, but I've been able to get into the mail since.Windows Live Mail could not be started. The application was unable to open the Windows Live Mail message store. Windows Live mail was unable to locate the message database. If you've moved the database files to a new location, click OK to rest the database path to that location. Otherwise, click Cancel to proceed, any existing messages found will be available under Orphaned Accounts (0x00000000.2) If I click ok or cancel, I get: Quote: Windows live mail could not be started. The application was unable to open the Windows live message store. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. (0x8007002) So far, to attempt to remedy it: Run a disk check Restarted three times Run Repair on the Live stuff Tried system restore to four days ago I even removed my anti-virus (temporary of course) None of the above has any affect. How can I save my emails without being able to open the mail program itself? As one of the few idiots, I did not back up my emails. Where are the located? I figure if I can find them, pull them into another folder and the reload the Live stuff.
I cannot open my email, either saved or new. New e-mail messages will download, but will not open. I get this message: "A problem occurred while trying to open this message. A problem has occurred. Please try again." A few days ago, all was well.
I am used to Outlook Express and when saving an incoming message I have the choice of which folder to save it to. Now I have Windows Live Mail and figure it must be the same in this regard, but I cant find any choice other than Save or Save as File. So, when I click Save it ends up in the Draft folder and then I have to drag it to the folder I really want it in. How do I save to other folders than the Draft one?
I did the SP1 update on the weekend. I don't know if this is why this has happened but Windows live Mail, when opened, is now empty. All of my emails, settings, contacts and accounts are gone. I can see all the folders when I look under C:Users... but I don't know how to restore all of it.
I can receive e-mails but I cannot send any e-mails. When I press the new e-mail button this message pops up: A problem occured while trying to open this message. A problem has occurred. Please try again. I have checked all of the server information. It is all correct. I am in an office with 4 other people and we all use the same e-mail provider.
Ive been googling this issue for quite some time and people have the same issue, but specific to them. their isp, email etc. I cannot send any emails using Windows Live Mail. Every time i go to send, it fails to connect to server with this message:-
i can download email from my email server but i cannot reply, forward or create new email, for all i get a message that says 'a problem occured while openning this message, a problem has occured, try again. or 'an error occurred while trying to forward to replying to this message. there is no error reason provided or error number. it worked fine for a few years and then this error message starting to occur. i have checked the server addresses for incoming/outgoing and they appear to be correct?
My installation of Windows Live Mail automatically checks for and retrieves email even though I have set it NOT to do that.
In Tools - Options - General I unchecked "Send and receive messages at startup" and "Check for new messages every [time is grayed out]" Yet the program still automatically checks for email and downloads it.
I have my Hotmail account set up, and I could sort of see that account automatically retrieveing mail, but I also have other accounts set up through my ISP and through my own domain, and these are also being automatically checked even though I have cleared the checkboxes described above.
I have closed the program and rebooted since unchecking those boxes (this has been going on for an extended time, several weeks at least). Am I missing some option somewhere, or is this just broken? I can't imagine it's the intended behavior. I'm running Windows 7 x64, Windows Live Mail Version 2009 (Build 14.0.8089.0726).
Installed Windows 7 Service Pack 1 yesterday. Today, Windows Live Mail is asking for my username and password for my Comcast mail account. The name & password provided are correct. When I OK, the box just keeps reappearing. When I cancel, error message states a wrong password was provided. I am using Firefox as my browser. When I try to open my Comcast mail from the Comcast site, it times out. I AM able to send emails from Live Mail...
Evening all, I recently upgraded to Win 7 Home Premier from XP Home and I am not impressed. When I try to send email using Windows Live Mail 2011 I get the following mesage Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this could be Server problems. network problems or along period of inactivity.Subject FW: Update on keeping fit.Server Error. 451Server Response 451 invalid Smtp line should end with CRLF.Server 'mail.btinternet.comWindows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0FProtocol: SMTPPort 25Secure (SSL):No.
I am having trouble with Windows Live Mail sending e-mails 10 to 20 times and the recipient can not open any of them. It seems to be mainly e-mails with Video Clips and Photos attached. I don't know whether somebody sent me a bug or if it is a fault in the computer. It is a Dell computer and brand new in Feb 2011.
My sent messages are not being saved in sent Items folder either on server in IMAP or in Sent Items folder in Live mail, also not saving with POP account either, they just seem to disappear on me.
Every so often - not each time I open Windows Live Mail but daily or every other day there is no inbox. Also my (only) email account has disappeared. When I make the account again the inbox reappears (including all the mail that I had already deleted).I use Windows 7 64 bit.
In Microsoft Outlook, if you open an email you've received and click on the "delete" icon, the email window just closes and takes you back to the main Outlook window. This is an option that you set in the preferences, but Windows Mail either doesn't have it or I just can't find it.
What happens in Windows Mail is that when you click on the delete icon, instead of closing the email and going back to the main window, it just goes to the next email.
I have set up a large group distribution list of about 150 email addresses. I'm certain some are bad. What's happening is that when I try to send to the group the bad email addresses are preventing the message to go through to the good emails.
I have bought a new computer with Windows 7 preinstalled. Before setting it up I backed up all my outstanding emails (204 .dbx files) and email addresses (one .wab file size 176kb) from my old computer on to a memory stick. I now want to import them into Windows Live Mail. I have gone through the recommended procedure for the emails, but only some of them have come across. I have been totally unable to import the addresses. The only procedures I have found seem to relate to a different version of Live Mail because they tell me to click on things that don't appear on my screen! It occurs to me that maybe not all the messages are being imported because I haven't imported the relevant contact details. Could this be the case? By the way I can't go back to the old computer as it has completely died, which is why I replaced it.
I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but I was forced to by a new cpu and have taken my old C: drive and hooked it up as a slave. Now I need to get the old emails to windows live messenger.
I also ordered another motherboard for the old computer and will at some point attempt to put the slave back in and hope it boots up normal so I may be able to work this that way.
I can't even find the outlook express emails, and Im not even sure if I could read them if I could find them. also, as most of you know, there is no outlook express for windows 7, so I don't know how common this problem is, but I can't find much that helps.
Is there a way to have windows mail live have all 5 of my email accounts in one folder rather having them separately and if i get mail in each account i have to down the menu to each account and open them up? I would like to have all of them in one inbox when i get mail like outlook and windows mail?
I just got my new laptop with windows 7 home professional. I downloaded windows live mail and all is working well with my hotmail and gmail accounts; however, when I click an email link within a website it switches to live mail, but no email box pops up (with the address in it) in livemail. Any ideas?
While away from home, can a pop3 account be accessed by live mail? I am with Shaw (Canada) and their online e-mail access sucks. I need to be able to download to my computer when away from home for extended periods of time.
I have a new HP pavilion pc with windows 7. I set up (I think) Windows Live Mail and I do receive e-mails. The problem is when I go to Windows Live Mail, I get a screen that distorts my background and the email headers are a bright blue with white letters that I can't read. when I x-out of mail the screen goes black and then restores to the normal background.
I have three user accounts on my pc; the mail account that I use will not open windows live mail (the main screen for live mail displays but the application never fully opens. My other accounts will allow me to open live mail, is there any way to copy files from one account to another or are there
Avast Internet Security tries to send me mail and everytime I get this"Multiple Content-Type header - HIGH DANGER!"So I get a blank email. How can I get a copy of my License file from them when this keeps happening? Is there something I can turn off so I can receive email from them?
I have two dell computers. Before, I used to be able to go to craigslist, etc and click on the link and it open a blank email. Now, the links don't open. I checked and still have windows live essentials. I tried to make windows live mail my default in the programs area, but even thou I clicked on 'ok' at end, it won't stay there. I have google chrome as my email too.
Whenever I run a game like Team Fortress 2 (in full screen but I'm not sure if it happens in windowed) it will automatically open Windows Live Mail and sit there in the background until I close it. How do I fix this?
When I get messages from someone sending from outlook with a link inside the message, it doesn't show up as a link in my email, and I cannot click on it and open it. I am using windows live mail on a 64 bit windows 7 computer.
People send me photos, documents, etc with the attachments and Im unable to open them. When I click on them, it tries to open with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007 / enter a Product key. I dont have that program installed. The people who are sending me these things dont have the program either. How can I set it to open in a different program?
