Windows 7 x 64 "run as admin" password won't work, when right click on an installer, however if I log out I can log in as admin with the same password? It was working recently as right click on app tried updating the pw in the admin account to a new pw, back in user account, same thing.
I just bought this computer from someone off craigs list and I cant access the admin password. I don't have a cd to download windows. How can I bypass it?
The problem is that I had setup a domain on my laptop and then changed to home computer on windows 7 machine. It gave me a message that changes will come to effect after restart the machine, which I did. When it restarted it is asking me for admin password, which I don't remember and docent allow me to change the userid so that I can log back ( it shows admin I'd on the screen which I can't change).
Now I can't log back and have lot of important stuff on my laptop , don't want to reinstall and don't have a reset cd also
I restarted my computer because it was acting slow and funny. when i tried to log in to my account the password didnt work anymore. i ended up just rebooting my whole computer. seems to work fine now.
i changed my admin password and have forgot it i have heard you need to reinstall windows 7 i don't have a recovery disk i want to know if there is any other way of recovering the password?
I recently changed the password of my admin account on my computer but when I then tried to log in with the new password it didn't work, i even tried my old and it didn't work either. I also have a guest account which i can access without any password. Is there any way to solve this problem from the guest account, without having to reinstall the whole windows? By the way, I don't have admin privileges on the guest account and I'm running Windows 7 x32 if someone wonders.
I have Windows 7 32-bit(official RTM, clean install) only 1 account on it which of course is Admin.Sometimes when I press the Windows button + l to lock the screen and come back after a few minutes, enter the password but Windows 7 reports it as wrong password all the time. I have had the same password for 3 years so I know for sure I entered it correctly all in lower case. Also, if I deliberately try to enter a wrong password when my normal one doesn't work, I get the white round circle indicating that its being processed. Then after like 3 minutes, Windows 7 reports it as being the wrong password (the correct behavior from Windows 7 would have been to reject the the wrong password immediately). So I have to do a manual shutdown as it's the option left. I have tried to reinstall Windows 7 many times but this problem just keeps happening randomly.
I kind of miss the XP OS setup where it makes you assign the admin password during setup. Am I missing the place to do that in a Windows 7 setup or is it just done after the install?
Lost administrator password on windows 7. I must have accidentally mistyped my admin PW when trying to change it. I don't want to get locked out completely. I do not have a back up or restore/repair disc. Is there any way around it besides using the disc, or USB, or complete reinstall? Just wiped the HD and had to start over so don't really want to do that again. My personal account is just fine and I can access that. However, without admin pw, I am very very limited.
i forgot my password my admin password and in the guest account uac system ask a password everytime i install something!!! I have an Aspire Acer 4730z that I bought used. The person who owned it created an administrative password and without that password I cant do much of anything. I cant download anything. Ive tried downloading Abode Reader and it wont even let me do that because I need the admin password. I was wondering if there was a way to reset the admin password?

Sitting here in class and our professor was telling us admin it disabled by default in Vista/Windows 7 now for security reasons. I mentioned you can access it from a command prompt based program that comes in a bootable iso format you burn on disc.
I can not for the life of me remember what the name of that program was but a couple years ago I was working on a Win Vista system that got a virus that locked out the user by changing the user account passwords.
We Googled, found this program you burn on a CD and it brings up a menu that will allow you to reset the user account password, or log into the admin account.
I have tried to enable the $ shares on a windows 7 64 bit machine in a workgroup.i have tried the regedit that is suggested on the internet and added the Qword without success. Has anyone successfully done it?
Not sure if it was a virus, spyware, or hacker, but something wiped out all of the passwords in windows 7 professional. I am signed in with a standard user account with no password. I've attempted to use different software such as <software name removed>, and password pro to retrieve passwords, but neither of them can find the SAM or any accounts with passwords. This system is on a peer to peer network and is being used as the server. Is there anything I can do to get admin rights back and get logged in as the administrator?
ok so i was messing around in the control prompt (cmd) menu and i came across the password change option. i didnt think i changed it but apparently i did. no i cannot log on to my user account which is administrator. i have no reset disc and no other acount. what can i do?
A techie friend set up my son's mini notebook which has Windows 7. When my partner set up my brand new PC he set up an account in my name, so there are now two accounts on the machine, Admin and Mine. I can use my account for most daily things, but I need to be the Administrator because I don't have rights to do some stuff. Problem is he's forgot the Admin password .... so I can't log in as the Admin. What can I do? How do I change this password?
Recently, I've changed my admin password and forgot already what I had typed. Now, I'm using the guest account and do not know what should I do to restore back the password as in the guest account many things can not do! So, what should I do now to restore back or to get back into my admin account?
I have a minor technical question I would love help on. I have the UAC on and log in as a standard user for protection. There are a few programs that I would like to run automatically when windows starts that require a password EVERY time I start windows, or if I select them manually. Is there any reason certain programs due to their permissions need an admin password to run and other don't?
I could not find the difference looking in the security section of properties comparing it with a program that runs as an admin. HELP! I would like to run these programs automatically as windows boots without typing in the admin password for each program.
i have an acer laptop and changed my password and work fine till i tried to restored my computer to an earlier date after which now i cannot sign in as the admin says my password is invalid.
We are a small business with a number of field workers who are out and about all the time. The will need to pick up new connections at hotels and the like, but every time they want to add a new wifi connection they are required to put in the Administrator Password. My question is, is it possible to turn this off, so that they can add whatever network connection they want but still keep the admin password for adding new programmes and the like.
I recently created a password and have regretfully forgotten it. I have no windows 7 disk and no other users on my laptop. I have not setup any password reset options i.e. system restore disk etc.
How can I restore my computer or just change my password?
