I honestly cant recall changing my login to a laptop, but my password now doesnt work, so I assume I did. My login has the Administrator privilidges.
Luckily we do have a standard user login / password that does work.
Ironically , I was going to make some backup disks , as its a fairly new laptop, but cant now login to do this. Windows 7 laptop. Toshiba.
I have an Aspire Acer 4730z that I bought used. The person who owned it created an administrative password and without that password I cant do much of anything. I cant download anything. Ive tried downloading Abode Reader and it wont even let me do that because I need the admin password. I was wondering if there was a way to reset the admin password?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSitting here in class and our professor was telling us admin it disabled by default in Vista/Windows 7 now for security reasons. I mentioned you can access it from a command prompt based program that comes in a bootable iso format you burn on disc.
I can not for the life of me remember what the name of that program was but a couple years ago I was working on a Win Vista system that got a virus that locked out the user by changing the user account passwords.
We Googled, found this program you burn on a CD and it brings up a menu that will allow you to reset the user account password, or log into the admin account.

I am signed in with a standard user account with no password.
