I used the Windows 7 usb/dvd tool to install Win8, but now i want to use the stick for other stuff again. When I put the stick in it just connects and then disconnects every 15 seconds or so. Tried to right click and format, but it fails, guessing because it disconnects. Also tried using diskpart in cmd but had the same results.
View 1 RepliesTwo weeks ago I bought a DELL Inspiron 1545 - T4500, and I had no problems with it. It connected to my Wireless Internet, and my parents' one without a hitch. However, at the weekend, one minute it was connected to the wireless, and the next minute it lost the signal. I tried to re-connect it, but no luck. It sees the network, says that it is connected to it with full strength, however in the 'Currently connected to:' section at the top of the pop-up, it says 'Unidentified Network, No Internet Access'. And when I try to go onto the internet, it says 'Server not found'.I have tried the diagnostic test, and it gives the error that 'The Default Gateway is not available'. I have tried turning off the modem and router, and unplugging everything, but it still isnt working. Interestingly, my old laptop (XP, about 4yrs old) IS working. Also, I have tried to link to my parents wireless and a friend's and neither are working on the new PC.

I have a brand new 16GB drive that I am trying to use so it has PLENTY of space on it. Anyway, I go to run to tool and it gets to the part where it says formatting and then it says something like "we are unable to copy your files, check the USB drive and the ISO and try again."

View 0 Replies View RelatedI've never quote seen this problem, but I'm trying to burn the ISO for Windows 7 with the Microsoft download tool, and it can't find the dvd drive. Unfortunately the tool does not give you the option to search for it.
The only thing I can see that might be it is in Device Manager it shows up as a CD-ROM. Yet the drive functions and burns fine. I just upgraded to latest firmware. Drive is Asus DRW-1814BLT.
and how is dvd+r sony 4.7 gb 120 min ok discs to burn ? my product key on here?

I do not get this error with any other program I attempt to run, or download and install. I need to create a bootable usb drive or dvd to do a upgrade repair of my 7 installation. My original windows 7 DVD does not contain SP1. I have downloaded the SP1 iso and just need this too to work.

I had scandisk on an old computer and also a super anti spyware from the same computer. I put the flashdrive in and copied it to the flashdrive. Now i need to know in easy steps how to put it on my laptop. I copied my pics from old computer this way but when I right click on the program i don't know what to do next. Do I just copy and paste it into the program files or what ? I am getting so frustrated because I am not that great using the computer this way.

I had the installer of Fedora 15 in my freshly reformatted USB flashdrive and used LiveUSB Creator to convert Fedora 15's ISO to a bootable installer in my USB flashdrive. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Win 7 RC Ultimate 64 bit for a while. Works great. The only problem so far is that it will not stay in "sleep" mode(not the hybernation). It goes there, the light on the box is blinking and after about 10 sec it wakes up. Can't figure out what wakes it up though. I dual boot on the same machine to Vista Home Prem 32 bit and it goes to sleep fine and stays there. So, I don't think it is hardware.

I would set it and a little time forward and the machine would be started again. Today I was reading some additional suggestions. It said it may be a slide show. I don't have any slide shows set up but after some thinking I decided to turn off the Windows Personalization desktop theme that I had on my computer. I chose to have them rotate some beautiful desktop themes every 10 seconds. Once I turned off all but one of the themes, I have not had any additional problems with my computer staying in sleep mode. I like the various desktop background changing but I also like the ability to use sleep mode.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to update something on the desktop via Windows Update, I can download and install updates. BUT, when I go to the notification bar, it says that there are updates available again, even though I already installed those same updates.
I have tried shutting down the computer to install the updates, which does download and install, but the update icon still appears on the "Shut down" button. It's weird because in the update history it will say that I performed the updates that day, but still says there are available ones.

Windows 7 64bit home edition..My Laptop - HP mini 1000 with XP I play this game, Trickster Online.. and they have a "stay connected for 100+hrs" event..On my laptop with XP, it will stay connected until I Disconnect it.On my PC, it will stay connected for like 5-20mins, then log everything out. EVEN if i am still using the internet.. (its not Idle!)
I've tried the following:
-Turned off "Disable this to save power"
-Turned all my Windows power settings to "never hibernate, no screensaver, etc" even no shutting off of the monitor.
-Tried Wireless and wired, (Both same results)
-Reformating the computer to get rid of any rogue programs messing the net up
-Updateing drivers and Windows
All of a sudden I am getting an error that the print spooler is not running out of the blue. The printer had been working up to then?

Intel 2.3 ghz duel core, cpu. upgraded to 4 gig of ram. done months ago. New 750 gig HDD. New to this install. just bought it. Installed with a dell windows 7 disk. It activated fine. had a few problem with the install. could not install Windows 7 usb dvd tool could not install Office 2010. Did get NOD 32 install and all the windows updates. I figured there was aglitch in the install. I formated and reinstalled windows 7 from a usb drive i created on another computer. that i just installed the windows 7 usb dvd tool on. windows loaded fine, so first thing i tried to install the windows 7 usb dvd tool would not install. so formated and started again. All went well windows 7 activated fine. tried to install the windows 7 usb dvd tool again no joy. so I went ahead and installed all the updates. NOD 32. windows office all went well. tried again to install the Win 7 usb dvd tool no joy. I have googled the problem there is no info out there on this problem. I searched the problem in this forum nothing. I had this tool running on the original install before i started this whole thing and it worked fine. Any suggestion would be great! Nothing invested but time!

I have a windows 7 printer but since I can't keep the spooler running it won't let me install it. I have tried manually and using the fix it program but all that does is restart the service and it will stop on it's own.
