View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed some software's on my laptop after some time it's getting restart but,Not booting windows 7 only again & again getting restart.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI spilled cereal on my laptop and half the keys stopped working. Obviously, I need to get the keyboard replaced, but I'm just wondering if there is a way to restart the computer without using the keyboard? I am currently stuck on the Windows Error Recovery screen and since the enter key doesn't work, I can't get it to start normally, in safe mode, etc.Computer is a Toshiba Satellite L755 running Windows 7.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running MS Windows 7 Home Premium on a Dell laptop. Normally, the screen saver works as expected. About half the time, after I log off and shut down, the screen saver is not enabled when I restart.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to upgrade Vista to Windows7 Home Premium and I got this message after the installer copied ~2GB of files on my PC:
"setup can't continue. restart the computer and restart setup. when prompted try getting the latest updates."
I restarted the PC and restarted the setup and I got the same message. I updated the Mother Board Bios and restarted the setup I got the same message. I have tried both options (get update and no update during the setup). And it didn't work.
I do not want to do custom install (fresh install) on my computer.
example: Playing Diablo III while talking with friends on mumble. The game suddenly freezes and I wait to see if it shoud come back, and it never does.So I press Ctrl-Alt-Del to close the program, and the status says "Not responding" I close the program and wait like 5-10 sec until I can see it's closed in "task manager" and i try to start the program again. This happens, the cursor shows that it's "thinking" for like 2-3 sec, then nothing happens. Same problem occurs with Skype, these are the programs im 100% sure to crash everytime.I've tried to open them all as administrator.Tried compatible modessystem recoveryStart up Repair (windows 7 feature I believe)
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Gateway runs great until a restart is requested by me or a program. A few days ago, it would restart just fine. When I select Restart, the computer appears to shut down fine, it beeps to restart, the Windows 7 screen begins to open but it freezes with three colored dots on the screen. It always stops in exactly the same place.
If I kill power, then boot again I get an offer for Windows to repair itself. If I let it, it cannot repair. If I select Boot Windows Normally, all is well. Except for this one problem, things are really running well. Odd. I've run Chkdsk, SFC/ SCANNOW, and PC Pitstop Optimize3. Nothing finds a problem or fixes anything.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1440, and after it crashed while I was out for Dinner yesterday, I have been encountering so many problems..Yesterday, I was able to get back into my "Account" and access my desktop, but after a few minutes of being on, every single program/application I had opened turned "Not Responding" and stayed that way.
Now today.. I thought it had gotten better, so I did virus scans, registry updates, defragmenting, all of that, and my Laptop worked fine for a few hours. Then it became worse.
I scheduled a Disk Check, and when it finished, it restarted my laptop, but after the Windows Logo that pops up, all I get is a black screen and a cursor that I can move around. This not only occurs in Normal Mode, but Safe Mode, Safe Mode + Network, and Safe Mode + Command Prompt
I'm having a problem loading windows as well. My computer mid use was starting to seriously lag and when I restarted it it began the dreaded system repair system restore loop. It tries to repair itself again and again and then says it can't and asks if you want to shut it down. This has happened once before and it took me forever looking thru forums to find the solution. I just can't remember what I did. I wanna say I did something with a command line. I don't have a windows disc. And I don't believe I did a complete factory reset the last time either.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was shutting down my laptop last night and there was a program (Adobe Reader, I think) that caused it to wait before shutting down. I left it assuming it would eventually shut down. I pushed the power button this morning to turn the computer on, and it says "resuming Windows" and then goes to the screen that says "Logging off". It has been hung up on that screen for over 30 minutes now, so who knows how long it did that last night when it was supposed to shut down. I can press and hold the power button to get it to power down, but when I press the power button again, it starts the same "resuming Windows" stuff all over again. I tried tapping the F8 button when it was restarting, but no luck. I can't use my computer at all, This is a pretty new laptop (Dell), so this is especially frustrating. Not to mention I have LOTS of work to do and I everything is on that laptop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I restart windows my computer bluescreens. It started happening about two months ago. If needed here are my computer specs: I'm not sure why but I always get this message after I sign in: Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer has been running very slowly lately after I restart it. On average after I restart, it takes noticeably longer to launch and run programs. If I leave it sitting on my desk running, somewhere between 12-36 hours after I restarted, it will run just fine. I defrag my drive regularly, and also run virus scans regularly with Malwarebytes and a few other tools. This has been a problem for a while and I've tried a lot of things to fix it with no luck, including registry defraggers / optimizers, cleaning temp files, CleanMem, and several other tools. I'd love some ideas for things to try.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI when I opt to restart my computer, it will not. As an example, if I download an update and restart it will not. The computer goes into a loop at the initial startup. Like it is hanging up and get it to the last step. Now if I press the button to the turn it on, it boots up fine.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I do a "restart", on the computer screen I could see "log out", a few seconds later, "shutdown." At this point, the system stalls at "shutdown." I waiting for over 5 minutes, and it was still stalled at "shutdown." To continue working with my computer, at the ""Shut down stall", I remove the power cord from my computer. About a minute later, I reconnect my power cord and click the power button. After that there is no problem. Except when I do a "Restart."

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two computers and I use them both a lot. They are both for work. I have Input Defender to allow me to use my mouse on both screens. Unfortunately, quite often my laptop seems to boot up and isn't connected to the network at all. I have to restart it and / or just wait till it decides to connect. Sometimes hours.
How can I figure out why it's not connecting to the the network and / or Internet.
I experienced this problem since I tried to consult my constant BSOD problem in my computer to a 'computer technician', resulting couple of problems, HDD failure and she made a so-called 'tweak' on my BIOS, to make the long story short, she didn't solved my BSOD problem. Ended up buying a new hard disk. I bought a new hard disk and a legit computer technician installed it. No BSOD or anything, my computer runs smoothly and runs like a brand new one, but the problem is my computer won't start after a successful restart. Monitor's light is blinking and the CPU's fan is still running as well as the CPU power button.

Half way through the install I get the following message "Setup can't continue. Restart the computer and restart Setup. When prompted, try getting the latest updates."
I'm trying to install on a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC (DV6733tx) with Vista service pack 1 installed and 4GB of memory. From the compatibility tests that I have run there shouldn't be any problems.
My partner has also installed from the same disk and it installed properly so we know it's not the disk.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions? I've tried on three separate occasions now and while each time it's progressed a little further, I still end up with the above error message.
this computer is working away for surveillance purposes. It has been crashing since installation, maybe once every two days. The computer does not restart neither shuts down. It justs freezes, and happened once when I was there. I tried to turn on the display but it acted like nothing was connected, so I could not see if there was a BSOD.I opened the Event Viewer and the last event I can see (for example this very last time, the computer froze at 04:29 AM), under "Error" category, it displays: The device, DeviceHarddisk0DR0 has a bad block. The error appears 3158 times, from 01:12 AM to the time of the crash.Do I have to replace the HDD or would it be something else? [code]

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Napster service ..and when I play the files after about maybe 25-30 files I start getting a popup saying Media Revocation and Renewel "You must restart the machine to continue content processing" which I did..then it works for another magical number and continues again.I updated Microsoft Security Component Upgrade. This issue seems to be new to windows 7 as I never had this in Xp using the same Napster service and the media played fine.I have not been able to find a solution to end this loop of Media Revocation and Renewel Error Message.

I got a bleeping computer. What is basically happening is, that if I restart my computer, it takes forever. If I try shut down, it usually shuts down after a long long log off OR it freezes in logging off. It is really annoying and I tried to clean up my system, registers and it didn't work. I am running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
