I have tried all the threads and nothing is working for me. I have been working very hard to get my cd drive to appear in my computer since yesterday. On this morning I cut my computer on and it recognized the cd drive but as soon as I restarted my computer over it disappeared. Does anybody have anymore solutions to getting my drive to work every time I boot my system up. I mean every time I restart my computer I see the light flashing on the drive and I can hit the eject and it comes open but as soon as my system boots all the way up it stops.
The problem likely started when I cloned my drive to a new Seagate drive using a Seatools *Seagate** utility, which I believe is actually made by Acronis. The final fix was installing new drivers for the Hard drive from Intel "Intel Rapid Storage Technology"
Symptoms = Failure code when trying to start indexing = 0x8e5e0247 Search function would not work properly Indexing was not working Could not get Windows update to install
windows 7 indexing is not running acronis clone Intel Rapid Storage Technology 0x8e5e0247 windows update not working
I have a HP dv6910us Pavilion and the DVD is not listed in Device Manager. DVD Tray opens and light comes on but does not play DVD. 1st USB port on left side gets - USB Device Not Recognized. One under it works and one on the right side works.OS Windows7 Ultimate. It is running kind of screwy so I wanted to reinstall Windows7 but with the DVD not operating Can't do it. Seems like maybe something in the register got erased or corrupted. If I can get the DVD and USB port to work I won't have to reinstall Windows 7

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium. My wireless connection has been working on and off for a while, but now it just refuses to work. The other computers in the wireless network are working just fine, so it must be definitely something in my laptop.I can detect the network just fine, with good signal. It says:
Media State: Enabled IPv4 Connectivity: No internet access IPv6 Connectivity: No internet access
Also, in the activity there are Bytes sent and received, but I cannot connect to any webpage either with Chrome of Firefox I'm using McAfee Security Center. I tried turning off the firewall, but it still doesn't work.
Recently my computer has been force closing applications like Photoshop and Windows Explorer. It usually happens when I right click in Explorer or try to open anything in Photoshop. When it happens, a dialogue box comes up that says "Windows Explorer has stopped working" or "Adobe Photoshop has stopped working" Under the details it displays this information:
Problem signature: Problem Event Name:APPCRASH Application Name:Explorer.EXE Application Version:6.1.7600.16768 Application Timestamp:4d688122
I have updated my Vaio All in One PC (VGC-VA1 ) to Windows 7 . Sony Vaio no longer suppot this machine running under Windows 7 . However Most of supplied Vista drivers do work . It seems the X700 mobility, ATI Display Driver installs and works properly (8.561.0.0) , however the Catalyst Control panel does not .
So the Catalyst Control Panel no longer works , It does seem to install, using Sony's provided Vista drivers , though there's compatibility issues
I do like the options in Catalyst control in general , so how can I get it working
This issue is for people who can't seem to figure out why after signing into rockstar social club, that the game won't pop up to start the game.
Make sure you have installed all windows updates to where windows update says "There are no more updates available". You should be with Service Pack 1 after installing updates.
There's 2 folder in the C drive labeled "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)". The thing with the game is that it installs it into Program Files (x86). To keep from it doing that, here's what you need to do.
Go to your C drive and go into "Program Files". Create a new folder in there called "Rockstar Games".
Open up the installation of the game disk or downloaded ones that you are using the crack files for. When it asks for the destination folder of the installation, edit it and make it install into "C:Program FilesRockstar Games" (Have to do that for both social club and the original game).
After installation is complete, install the patch V1.0.7.0. It will install it into "C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar Games". Once patch is complete, copy contents from that folder that was said in this paragraph into C:Program FilesRockstar Games.
After that, launch the application and make sure you put in the key and sign into the social club. The game should launch just like mine did.
This is the official tutorial of how to get GTA IV to run on windows 7 64-bit.
I just ran into a very irritating problem. When I try to alt tab, the bar flashes up for a minute, then is gone. If I press and hold alt tab, it flickers continuously, but I cannot swap windows (easily). When this happens, the windows key also fails to work. The odd thing is that this doesn't happen immediatly, only after a couple hours. Unplugging the keyboard and plugging back in doesn't help, but restarting fixes it.
I'm running a Windows 7 Home premium 64 Dell laptop and for the past few days I've been facing a lot of lag and programs hanging. Because that was nothing new I brushed it aside. At first it was just itunes but then the antimalware and firefox (which I deleted in an angry rage but then installed again later) stopped responding. Last night, I was able to get itunes and firefox working again and I ran a few scans with McAfee and my lagging malwarebytes but nothing turned up so I thought I just needed to clean up some files. This morning, I booted up, logged on and was preparing to do my daily computer scans when the whole thing froze. I couldn't open up the task manager, close any programs, nothing, so I forced it to shut down. When I went to restart, after the Dell logo came up, I was graced with a black screen and then the message: Bootmgr is missing, press ctrl+alt+dlt to reRECOVERY (and then there are some random symbols after that).
So I recently ordered a PC from CyberPowerPC. I ordered a 120gb Intel 320 SSD, a 2TB HDD, and a 60gb OCZ Agility 3 Intel SRT Drive. When I got the PC, the boot drive was the 2TB hard drive for some reason. So I bought a program called Paragon that migrated my OS to my SSD. It worked! But then it told me to activate my SSD in the boot menu in my BIOS. I have an ASRock Professional Gen3 Z68 Fatal1ty Mobo with an Intel 2700k.I look in my BIOS, and there are 3 things listed there. My HDD, my CD drive, and Disabled. It says Disabled as if the SSD is not on or something. As of now, I am panicking and I have no idea what to do. I have been switching around what partitions should be active in my Windows 7 CD but nothing is working! Does it have something to do with the SRT drive?
I got windows xp and windows 7 working together, but Windows XP is not working well. I have no sound in XP, no wireless internet, and the maximum resolution is 1024by768. I am using Windows XP Pro. I got it to work perfect in Virtualbox, but alas on the computer not really. And, even though my comp has 8gb of ram at 2.53 Ghz, XP only recognizes 2gb or ram at 1.1 ghz. It's a 32 bit XP, but still it should recognize 4 gb of ram at the full prcessing speed, shouldn't it? (Using intel core i5 460M @ 2.53 Ghz 2cores and 2 hyperthreading). Windows 7 still works great. Also, whenever I want to start windows XP, I have to set in BIOS IDE or for windows 7 SATA, if I don't set it respectively for this systems I get a Blue Screen of Death. It's kinda annoying having to go into BIOS all the time. I have a TB of RAM, split into two 500gb hard drives. Windows 7 home premium is installed on C:, and windows XP is installed as a partion on my other hard drive E:, which I partioned 200 gb out of 500 for Windows XP.
I have a PC that I originally had Windows 2003 on. With Win2K3, I can send a wakeonlan (magic) packet (WOL) and get it to power on remotely from my home network/LAN. I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, in a dual-boot configuration, i.e., so I can boot the machine to either Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit or Win2K3. As mentioned, I can power the machine up remotely (from my home network/LAN), but if I've LAST booted into Windows 7, then shutdown, it doesn't respond to the WOL packet. I've confirmed that if I boot into Win2K3, then shutdown, the WOL works fine. I have another PC that has both Win2K3 and Windows 7 (also dual boot), and that works fine with WOL. One difference between the one that doesn't work vs. the one that works is that the one that works is a machine that I just built a couple of weeks ago, which uses an MSI 880gm-E43 motherboard. The one that doesn't work also has an MSI motherboard, but it's an older one, an MSI K9NBPM2-FID.
I have a win 7 lenovo. The USB ports do not detect mouse and flash drives. But they work when I use Linux (I use Fedora 16, dual boot). How do get it working? I tried uninstalling ports in device manager and rebooted the system but the problem continues to exist.
unable to install XP PRO on same HD as WIN 7 and am getting Error Message STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0XC0000034,0X00000000, 0X00000000)Could i t be caused by AHCI the laptop came with would it help to hange in the BIOS SATA operation from AHCI to ATA? will the WIN 7 still work with the ATA?
Windows 7 has Windows XP Mode. As of 2 days ago, I can no longer access it, so all my XP software is not functioning. How can I restore that function? It keeps on asking me for ID and password. I never had ID and password to enter XP Mode before.

I am running windows 7 Home premium on a Samsung laptop 64bit , 3.00 GB ram dual core CPU T4500. I had to send computer to be repaired under warranty and the hard disk was replaced. after this repair, I was trying start a game software and this would not run because it said that D3DX9_45.dll was mising in my computer. I have tried the DirectX upgrade and it starts loading ok, but at the end of the installation an error comes up saying that Direct could not be installed. I have also found that the windows update is not working because the service is not running. I have looked in the service data and the Windows update is running.
I've had problems with my antivirus and their support site said to input the following in the command prompt. Now my network gadget doesn't see my network card, my GPU Monitor gadget doesn't see my Graphics card, and my 7-sidbar gagdet won't load properly and is displaying the message "WScriptError: Error: -2146827859, Automation server can't create object" what to do so that my gadgets work again?

I have three USB ports on my Gateway laptop and none of them are working. I've tried un-installing them through the Device Manager, but the action gets hung up and I have to stop it (I've let it run for 10+ minutes) through the task manager. When I re-open the Device Manager the USB all the controllers are still there.
I bought an expansion drive because I wanted to back up my photos and other files. After I did that I was going to reinstall a clean version of Windows 7 as my laptop hasn't been working well lately.
