Has anyone any idea on what is the difference between Windows 7 Home Premium Gold and "standard" edition? It is available from Dutch retailers, but they were unable to give me an answer. Googling forums and Microsoft web site (including Dutch one) also did not bring any results, except for more offers.
Could it be SP1 version or there is more to it?
How can I get the most out of my fresh Windows 7 installation? I have a Lenovo B570 with a 2nd Gen i3 processor and 4GB DDR3 RAM. 500 GB HD.I use my computer daily and work from home on my computer. View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically what happens is there's a sudden slowdown in computer performance. For example if I'm listening to a live stream, watching a video, or playing a game it will suddenly all go into slow motion for a few seconds and then return to normal speed. I know it's more of a global problem because I can see it happening with other programs, too. When a web page is loading the load speed may suddenly go very slowly for a few seconds, or even if I'm typing in Microsoft Word I'll keep hitting keys, and the keystrokes will be logged, but no words will appear for a few seconds and then it will suddenly have to catch up.
What I've tried to do: A friend suggested my CPU was overloaded, but I checked my CPU usage and it's always quite low, as in below 50% as far as I've ever seen. Someone else suggested defragmenting my hard drive, which I did using TuneUp Utilities, but if anything that made the problem worse, because now in addition to slowing down sometimes things will just stop for a few seconds, or web pages will time out but when I reload them they work fine. My machine: I'm using a Lenovo Ideapad, intel Core i7, 4 GB RAM.
Is it normal for Windows 7 Home Premium to have multiple boot options at the F8 safe mode menu? (I.e. "Enable boot Logging" "Dosable unsigned drivers" etc etc). I thought there were only three boot options: Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, and Safe Mode with command line..... It seems my safe mode prompt has those three plus all the others.

while installing 7 H.P. it gets to completing installation then freezes up after computer reboots a warning message appears stating windows 7 has failed to install and resume after reboot, and then the same warning message appears.
I tried the roll back installation option and a message flashes on and off to quickly to read.

Yesterday I was messing around on my brand-new laptop, and I was stupid enough to try a keygen to get Ultimate (I had HP). Surprising. It worked but the copy wasn't genuine obviously. So then I rebooted, pressed F8 at boot. An ran Toshibas recovery to try to get the computer to its out of box state. I got stuck at initializomg (either that or I was impaptient) so I turned off the laptop. Then when I truer to boot I got bootmgr is missing. I have an old vista Hp disk so I installed that for the time being. So my question is, how do I get it back to the original state? I do t have any important data or anything.

I restored from Carbonite online back up service to my current Win7 Laptop. In the restoration process, it created a user from the previous machine's setup. I now have 2 user's which I would like to replace with "NO USERS" (since I am the sole user). (I use individual file passwords to protect my personal or confidential files.) I can live with one User which would have control over the entire computer rather than an Administrator with other users with different levels of access.
I am concerned with possibly losing access to the files under the new user if I delete the current users.
Acer laptop I3 processor would not accept updates also all previous updates disappeared tried microsoft fixit to no avail tried the reg fix but didnt work finally after reloading the op system has fixed that problem but now I am left with a very slow computer used msconfig stopped all programs loading on startup this didn't improve anything where do I go from there?

I added the system health report to the same folder as the rest of the stuff, under the name "performanceanalysis.html". Let me know if you need any information that is absent from those files.
The BSOD usually occurs when the computer hibernates, restarts, or turns off. The computer will take an exceptionally long amount of time on the "turning off" screen, then the fan will start running loudly and the BSOD appears.
I want to know whether Windows 7 Home Basic Edition will support Ms Office 2007 Enterprise Edition ? Can we able install ? Will it Support ?
