View 2 Replies View RelatedI dual booted windows 8 and 7 and everything worked. But then the wireless would not work. It won't let me connect or it wil connect and give me limited something. But I go to windows 8 and I can connect. It gives me a 802.11n driver in device manager and there is no yellow triangle.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a Win 7 64 laptop less than a month old that spontaneously stopped connecting to the internet but says it's connecting to network devices just fine. I first noticed when I attempted to connect to my Verizon hot spot, then I connected to a restaurant's wifi. In both cases it said I had a connection but wasn't connected to the internet. I'm now on my home network trying to resolve and have the same problem. I've uninstalled, rebooted, then reinstalled the driver for the network card. I attempted to install a newer device driver from the manufacturer but it tells me there's no device connected even though I can see it in the device manager and can both uninstall and reinstall it.
When I run ipconfig (and when I look at my router) I can see I'm getting an IP address but again, I can't get on the internet. I've released and renewed the IP address. The device is set to automatically obtain an IP address and DNS servers. I've cleared my DNS cache. I've tried to reinstall TCP/IP v4. I can't ping either a URL or an IP address.
What haven't I thought of? I'm relatively new to Windows 7 so am unfamiliar with it's quirks.
I don't know what's up, I am pretty sure it's connecting, but the server isn't respondinG or something. At the bottom right, it has the 4 bars then it has a triangle on it and on N&SC ( network and sharing center it has NAME-PC and then Identifying to the right of that. I've tried system restore to see if its the antivirus, that doesn't help, tried resetting the winsock catalog, I just don't know what's wrong,
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've just started to encounter a problem with Win7. My PC is fine until I connect to the net using wireless. I use a dongle and can connect it to the PC without issue and everything works correctly. However when I connect to the internet my pc freezes and thats it I need to forcefully restart. I've tried closing programs in the taskmanager so I'm left with the bare essentials but something is killing it.I've tried booting in safe mode with networking and this WILL work and allows me to browse and work the PC as normal, however booting back in normal mode produces the same issue.I've tried a clean boot and booted with only system requirements and not any startup items but the problem persists

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy brother recently installed windows 7 on his pc, and since then we have had internet connection issues, but it is ok when you run laptops wirelessly (hope that makes sense!) which are running vista and xp. the network provider (orange) who say everything is fine. although i am not entirely convinced because we have low status and slow connections as soon as soon as it hits about 5.30pm. how do i check if throttling is happening?also, he recently installed a brand new processor and a brand new graphics card put in. it is a nivida geforce gt 220.i am an avid user of secondlife and this constantly crashes out the connection, which is only reconnected after a restart. if i watch or use anything such as Internet, any video or music streaming off any other site, or online gaming that has a high graphic content, the internet connection drops out too, and i get a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it. if i run the repair and diagnose thing that comes up - it says there is no issue detected. but clearly there is something wrong. my brother also separated the logins so my brother and i have different passwords. the connection drops on both logins. if i stick to text based internet sites, then it stays connected a whole lot longer. i can go for hours without having to restart. however, if i break into videochat on msn or gmail chat, there is a lot of breakups in sound, and lag in type chat - going into cam chat crashes me out again totally.if i unplug the live box, and replug it - i have to restart the whole system. in fact if i restart the system it connects straight away - unfortunately, if i return to the same stream - a few minutes in, it crashes again. it's driving me crazy!anyone any idea what i can do. i have no idea about computers at all...i have googled but don't get the responses as i am not entirely sure what i am looking for as i am not computer minded.computer spec:dell inspiron 530intel core duo cpu e6750 2.66ghzprocessor: 4gb (2.75gb useable)32bit operating systemwindows 7 orange network, livebox

View 14 Replies View RelatedA few days ago i was trying to connect my laptop to my ps3.To do this i was changing setting etc but never got it to work anyway. The next day i turn the computer on and can't connect to the internet.I think it was something to do with dns.I uninstalled and reinstalled my usb modem and software and always get full connection bars and says its connected, but in the bottom right hand corner it says network "no internet access" with a yellow triangle over it.It was because i was changing all of the settings in network and sharing senter, but being the wally i am, never wrote down the original settings. Whatever i did i am fairly certain i did it in the change adapter settings.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSometimes when my connection disconnects, my windows 7 home premium thinks that I'm still connected so I can't reconnect to internet untill I reboot my computer which's pretty annoying. As you can in the screenshot bellow, the network's tray icon appears as if I was still connected so there's nothing I can do untill I have rebooted
View 6 Replies View RelatedI built a new computer last August. Everything worked except my wireless. Move on to today, and still, the only issue I've ever had is with my wireless. Cabled internet works fine. Wireless does not. I've even upgraded my motherboard in this timeframe too.
Current specs are:
Mobo: Asus Crosshair IV Formula
GPU: HD 5870
CPU: Phenom II X6 1055T
RAM: 4GB of Ripjaw somethingblah
I've tried one internal N network card, and 2-3 sticks. The current one I'm trying is a TP-Link TL-WN81N 300Mpbs N Network adapter. I've used two different routers. My PS3 & iPhone connect fine. My Xbox 360 and PSP both struggle, sometimes connecting but usually not.Wireless on this computer, the issue, connects to the network fine. But it won't enable a internet connection, I never get wireless internet. Every now and then it'll work fine like nothing is wrong and other times it'll be super slow but literally 99.5% of the time it will be connected but with no internet.
i have 3 laptops running and today 1 would not connect to the internet unless through a cable , the laptop does not pick up any wireless networks at all were usually it picked up 5 or 6?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 7 and having trouble with the internet not connecting when I start-up my computer. I get the yellow error symbol on the bottom right on the internrt icon. I find I have to uninstall the Realteck network driver and then re-install it for the internet to connect. I have to do this each time I have to start my computer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine just bought a new laptop with windows 7 a week ago and has a belkin N150 router. After setting up the network everything was running fine and fast. Internet explorer and frostwire both worked plenty fine, but thats it. Firefox and Opera browsers both say they cannot connect to the internet, nor does the uTorrent program, and when we tried to use the mcafee antivirus from comcast it keeps coming up with an error along the lines of "unable to establish connection".
Well naturally I disabled both windows and the router's firewalls...still no luck. Then I plugged in the ethernet cable directly to the laptop, skipping the router...still no luck. Unless Comcast has some sort of stranglehold on which programs it will allow to use its internet, I believe it to be a windows issue. I have only worked with XP primarily and i know little about Windows 7. What would cause only internet explorer to have connections and leave everything else out?
I have two operating systems installed on my Sony Vaio VPCF115FG, Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
Wi-Fi is working fine on both, however, LAN connections are only working on Windows 8 but not Windows 7. It reads the LAN connection in Windows 7 but it does not actually connect to the internet. I honestly tried everything, including uninstalling the LAN driver and reinstalling it, no use.
This is an error I received before: [URL]
I've recently been having this problem where whenever my wireless internet disconnects, it's indicates it's reconnecting but never actually connects. I've tried turning the connection adapter on and off but it's still stuck saying it's reconnecting.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just bought my Dell inspiron laptop windows 7 today when I first turned it on I set up my home wireless connection and it was working fine. I was streaming a movie on Netflix when my Internet connection was lost. I have not been able to get Internet since then. It says I'm connected to my home wifi but that I have no Internet connection and the web browser will not load. I have a toshiba laptop windows xp an iPod an xbox360 and they all connect perfectly to the wifi. It was working fine then it just disconnected I have not gotten any Internet connection for hours and I please want to know what I can do to solve this problem. Many others seem to have a similar problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I have a wireless connection at home which I use for my laptop. The problem is that quite frequently(not every time) when I start the laptop up it takes a long time for it to connect, which eventually ends with it not connecting at all. My solution for this is to restart the modem, but is there any way this can be avoided?
View 9 Replies View RelatedHave my modem connected to a switch and my desktop and laptop connected to the switch. The internet works flawlessly on my desktop with no problems at all. The laptop is connecting to the network but is not connecting to the internet. It tells me " 'Local Area Connection' not a valid ip configuration."
I have tried using the flushDNS script but it doesn't work. It hangs up on ipconfig /renew, gives me an error, and then completes the rest. The error is "unable to connect to your DHCP server"
When my new laptop boots up and I click on Internet Explorer, I am not autmatically connected to internet. This is not true of my other laptop and desktop at home.
Is there some setup thing I have to do so I can avoid having to always hit the additional button to connect?
I currently have two computers in my house. One has windows xp and the other has windows 7. When I try to connect to the Internet wirelessly the windows xp computer ALWAYS works. On the other hand the windows 7 computer is only able to get Internet access around 10% of the time.
The windows 7 computer is able to connect but there is never any Internet access. I get this picture with bars and an exclamation point on it. I've tried resetting the router but this is only a temporary solution that lasts maybe a few hours.
My laptop is on a network and is connected to the network and internet but when I try pulling up the internet it says it cannot connect that it is disabled!
