I've recently been having this problem where whenever my wireless internet disconnects, it's indicates it's reconnecting but never actually connects. I've tried turning the connection adapter on and off but it's still stuck saying it's reconnecting.
I used to use an old XP desktop with direct connection and it stayed connected, used my vista laptop with direct connection and it stayed connected, and now with my new Windows 7 desktop the internet does not stay connected. It just disconnects and reconnects in a split second. This interferes while I'm playing games (3 different games), it'll tell me I have lost connection, and when I check my internet connection it says I'm connected. Sometimes I see the little internet connection icon on the bottom say X then a little loading circle then back online in a second.
Since a day or 4/5 my internet disconnects exactly every hour for a couple of secconds. I don't know how it started but its pretty annoying and i really would like some help with this problem, i searched the internet i've done a full antivirus scan couldnt find anything.
i did a clean install of windows 7 due to reg problems at the start of this year.before that the wifi went fine it did not disconnect of me and windows was not saying that it can find the network.so the problem is that when i am in my room it runs very slow at times and disconnects and windows says there is no wifi but if i move outside my door it finds it and connects i find this odd since windows says it a good connection almost full bars and speed running at 54(the top speed) and 48 it the connection speed and signal drop down low at times (but only in my room no where else) any ideas? My laptop, running Windows 7, has been experiencing problems with staying connected to the internet. Sometimes within 10 minutes the internet is lost twice. It automatically reconnects after a couple minutes and it's smooth sailing from thereon out. Then it could be a couple of hours later before it disconnects again.here doesn't seem to be a clear pattern as to when it shuts off connection.I've updated the drivers, tried to remove as much as I could from the start up programmes as well as the services, though I am not sure how to check if there are software conflicts. I've used CCleaner to clean up as much as I can, including the registry. I have tried Belarc for the first time to try and look into problems, but am not well versed in it. The programmes that I know of that remain connected to the internet while my laptop is on include AVG, Firefox/Chrome, Skype, Windows Firewall. I am not sure what other kind of info I can provide, but could post running programmes or anything else you would suggest.
I powered it back on and all was well save my CPU fan being rather loud. Closer inspection revealed a blade broke off the fan. I replaced the fan thus morning and it seemed to run fine.I had an issue connecting to the internet, so I powered off, reconnected all the cables and rebooted the router and modem, and it seemed to fix it.I went on using the computer and got a dialogue box telling me that the internet disconnected. I attempted to reconnect and it failed. A couple of minutes later my computer froze. I had mouse control but that's it. I gave it a hard restart and it still didn't connect.I went out with a friend, came back and it connected no problem.I was playing a game and saw the internet disconnected again, then PC froze again.I restarted then ran avg, no problems
Sometimes my Internet Explorer will randomly disconnect from the internet. Sometimes it will disconnect when I have left the computer for 10 minutes. Sometimes it will disconnect right in the middle of surfing the internet. It is only Internet Explorer because my anti-virus and my stand alone download manager will continue to be connected.
I have Windows 7 Pro and Internet Explorer9. I've had this problem before when I was on Windows XP and it only happens when I have had DSL (didn't happen when I had cable internet).
Well the other day a "friend" put a spyware on my computer and monitored me for a while all because he want me to get a amd crapdozer (coz he HATES intel and thinks amd is actually good) computer. Anyway when he told me he was monitoring me i got pissed so i downloaded like 3 spyware/malware removals (would of put malwarebytes only, but friend decided to block me from doing that) anyway i made a deal with the friend and he decided to remove the spyware. So i decided to remove my extra security software (comodo firewally, pctools spyware doctor i think) and i kept my avast free. While my computer was infected i was playing around with ALOT of settings in comodo fire wall and after installing it my internet has been disconnecting (only in my computer). Now i think that my messing around with comodo has created this problem but im not sure. For example if i want to load google it takes ages and alot of times and after a while it will disconnect.
I have noticed that during both of these times, my internet stops working. A process (which i believe relates to my Ralink Wireless LAN Card) called "svchost.exe" takes a lot of memory and the service name is "wudfsvc". Then I check the performance tab and my CPU's performance spikes 25-40% constantly. Then, the only time I receive the bluescreen is when I try to shut down my computer (if my cpu usage isn't spiking and I do have access to the internet, it shuts down fine and normal, it is only during this weird random event that I get bluescreen trying to shut down). I had installed drivers for my videocard, but that is about it. I did NOT install any drivers relating to my LAN card.
note that this occurs randomly and that particular service is always running at 150k memory usage. However, the only time I get this bluescreen is when the CPU usage starts to spike, my internet goes down and I try to shut down my computer.Upon restarting my computer if this happens, it gets stuck on the splashscreen. So I end up turning it off completely and doing a normal boot up and the computer works perfectly fine.
I have a Netgear N600 Dual band router WNDR3400 and I believe a WNR2000 wireless adapter.Apparently this router is a dual band, I set up 2 different networks when doing the initial install, but yet my computer only sees the 2nd network? What other info do you guys need to help me figure out why it keeps dropping the connection?
whenever i try to view video on Internet or any flash my windows 7 machine disconnects the huawei modem (even with updated drivers and firmware) and thus also the internet access. non-video internet works fine. the very same modem don't disconnect during video-viewing when installed on another machine! what to do?
I just had our internet upgraded to 20MB DL Comcast high speed cable. There are 3 computers on the network. 1 Wired, 2 Wireless. I'm the only computer savvy individual in the household and I don't know what the problem is.I am CONSTANTLY disconnecting from the router even while just browsing the web. I just did for a second while I was typing this up. I'm only about 35-40 feet away from the router, there's nothing to interfere with. My drivers are up to date.
When my desktop computer wakes from sleeping it takes approx. 20-30 seconds to connect to the internet. From what I remember, several things happened just a little bit prior to my noticing that this was occuring- 1. I installed Skype (I remember installing Skype on one of my computers before and it kept the computer from sleeping, I don't remember if I was able to fix it or had to do a system restore, so Skype has been a problem in the past although not this specific problem), 2. I ran Combofix for a virus infection, and 3. I got a new modem from the phone company after the old one quit working.I'm really not sure what the problem is, ie if it is one of the things above or something else completely, as I uninstalled Skype and the problem persisted (was not able to do a system restore to before Skype being installed due to Combofix deleting my system restore points) and my laptop is connected to the same router that is hooked up to the new modem that my desktop is and my laptop is connected to the internet immediately after waking from sleeping so I'm not sure how it could be a problem with the new modem if my laptop connects but the desktop doesn't. I've tried doing various fixes and tweaks from googling around but haven't been successful in finding anything
Prior to Windows 7 64bit my other computer used XP 32bit. The clock was always off by several hours and it seemed like time wasnt being kept when the computer was off and the time was very slow when it was on. I read that it was due to a coin battery that was basically shutting off. I didnt really pay attention to it cause i dont need the time to be correct on it and aside from that and a clicking harddrive, the computer would run fine.Since the harddrive was clicky, i ended up buying another harddrive and tossing the old one. I installed Windows 7 64bit on it and to my surprise going on for atleast a month now, the time was correct. When id turn off the computer for the night and power it on in the morning the time was correct. All this time i thought it was the battery but nope everything worked fine. The time was always correct no matter what. Now the problem. About 2 days ago the power turned off suddenly due to someone plugging in a heater. The heater basically shuts down the house when everyone has things powered on (tv, entertainment centers, computers etc). After that power outage the computer reverted back to its old problem. From that moment on, the clock on the bottom right is once again behind. The time after turn off does not save and now for some reason the internet on that PC disconnects randomly on its own unless i actually go in the control panel and disable and reenable the adapter. A rundown below on whats going on...
- Clock is slow. Its 7am while the clock would read something like 2pm.
- Internet disconnects randomly and must be re-enabled in the control panel.
- The adapter is sometimes stuck in an Indentifying Network infinite loop.
- NOTHING was changed in terms of hardware, only thing different is the harddrive.
This is a PC not a laptop. I cannot figure out whats going on with this, all the proper services are started too. The PC does connect to a router which also connects to the PC im using now and as of now, my net works fine just not on the other PC.
My internet is connected to a laptop downstairs as well as mine (sometimes but rarely). I often cant connect. It comes up with a box that says "Connect to a Network" and for options, "Troubleshoot problems" or "Tell me more about Internet connection problems". I click "Troubleshoot problems" about 5,000 times a day (no joke) and about 20 of those times it fixes the problem. The other times it does nothing and I have to go shut off the downstairs computer and unplug and plug back in the router about 10 times. Then sometimes is works for 10 minutes or so, and sometimes it doesn't. If I ever do get it working, it never ever stays working. Most times when the internet does connect, it works for about 30 seconds then shows a yellow triangle warning said with an exclamation mark stating "limited access". My SGS2 phone connects just fine. So does the laptop downstairs and any other gadgets except for my desktop! This is frustrating as anything!
I tried to get onto the internet this morning on the computer and it would'nt let me, so I restarted it, twice and still it was the same? It has the bars in the bottom right corner but there is a red cross going through, when I click this, to connect to my internet, there are no connections available to choose from, yet I still have internet on my blackberry, wifi on the iphone, and on the ipad?
my internet connection has stopped connecting to the internet automatically which means in order to connect to the internet I have to manually click the connect button usually about 5 times before a connection is established, just wondering what the cause may be & if there is a solution to this problem?
A few days ago i was trying to connect my laptop to my ps3.To do this i was changing setting etc but never got it to work anyway. The next day i turn the computer on and can't connect to the internet.I think it was something to do with dns.I uninstalled and reinstalled my usb modem and software and always get full connection bars and says its connected, but in the bottom right hand corner it says network "no internet access" with a yellow triangle over it.It was because i was changing all of the settings in network and sharing senter, but being the wally i am, never wrote down the original settings. Whatever i did i am fairly certain i did it in the change adapter settings.
Sometimes when my connection disconnects, my windows 7 home premium thinks that I'm still connected so I can't reconnect to internet untill I reboot my computer which's pretty annoying. As you can in the screenshot bellow, the network's tray icon appears as if I was still connected so there's nothing I can do untill I have rebooted
I built a new computer last August. Everything worked except my wireless. Move on to today, and still, the only issue I've ever had is with my wireless. Cabled internet works fine. Wireless does not. I've even upgraded my motherboard in this timeframe too.
Current specs are:
Mobo: Asus Crosshair IV Formula GPU: HD 5870 CPU: Phenom II X6 1055T RAM: 4GB of Ripjaw somethingblah
I've tried one internal N network card, and 2-3 sticks. The current one I'm trying is a TP-Link TL-WN81N 300Mpbs N Network adapter. I've used two different routers. My PS3 & iPhone connect fine. My Xbox 360 and PSP both struggle, sometimes connecting but usually not.Wireless on this computer, the issue, connects to the network fine. But it won't enable a internet connection, I never get wireless internet. Every now and then it'll work fine like nothing is wrong and other times it'll be super slow but literally 99.5% of the time it will be connected but with no internet.
i have 3 laptops running and today 1 would not connect to the internet unless through a cable , the laptop does not pick up any wireless networks at all were usually it picked up 5 or 6?
I am running Windows 7 and having trouble with the internet not connecting when I start-up my computer. I get the yellow error symbol on the bottom right on the internrt icon. I find I have to uninstall the Realteck network driver and then re-install it for the internet to connect. I have to do this each time I have to start my computer.
I am an owner of a dell studio 17 laptop. It was pre installed with windows vista, 2 days back I upgraded my laptop to windows 7 ultimate x64. Since then I am unable to connect to my internet.
I jst bought a new wired internet connection. But when I try to connect it says error 961 - The remote connection was denied because the user name and password combination you provided is not recognized, or the selected authentication protocol is not permitted on the remote access server. but when i try with my cousins' laptop it works perfect i'm trying to sove this from last 4 days ,also reinstalled Windows bu not working
A friend of mine just bought a new laptop with windows 7 a week ago and has a belkin N150 router. After setting up the network everything was running fine and fast. Internet explorer and frostwire both worked plenty fine, but thats it. Firefox and Opera browsers both say they cannot connect to the internet, nor does the uTorrent program, and when we tried to use the mcafee antivirus from comcast it keeps coming up with an error along the lines of "unable to establish connection".
Well naturally I disabled both windows and the router's firewalls...still no luck. Then I plugged in the ethernet cable directly to the laptop, skipping the router...still no luck. Unless Comcast has some sort of stranglehold on which programs it will allow to use its internet, I believe it to be a windows issue. I have only worked with XP primarily and i know little about Windows 7. What would cause only internet explorer to have connections and leave everything else out?
can I connect a windows 7 laptop to the internet to do Google searches via ethernet cable without having a paid internet provider? This computer will not be involved in email.
I dual booted windows 8 and 7 and everything worked. But then the wireless would not work. It won't let me connect or it wil connect and give me limited something. But I go to windows 8 and I can connect. It gives me a 802.11n driver in device manager and there is no yellow triangle.
I have two operating systems installed on my Sony Vaio VPCF115FG, Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
Wi-Fi is working fine on both, however, LAN connections are only working on Windows 8 but not Windows 7. It reads the LAN connection in Windows 7 but it does not actually connect to the internet. I honestly tried everything, including uninstalling the LAN driver and reinstalling it, no use.
