Screen Goes Black Then Come Back With Display Driver Crashed Message
Apr 22, 2012About 6 months ago I had several issues with my screen flickering. I thought it was just an old monitor so I replaces it. No problems, however the last 48 hours my screen goes black then sometimes it will come back on and say that my display driver crashed. I've tried looking around but i see no error reports or anything on the driver. I am using a NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS. I just uploaded the complete system specs to the website.

I am using the hdmi port and the display port for two tvs and I am using the vga (I think its called the vga) port it sez right on the box that it supports 3 monitors. I can switch between any two that I want but I cant get all three to work at the same time. I try to use all three at the same time I get "to extend the display another display must be disabled".

Jan 20, 2013If I connect my TV and run it at 1920x1080 (As it states it is capable of) I get odd placement of the screen, for example if I look at the desktop, icons are pushed over to half the screen, and it does this with a few resolutions. Unfortunately, my TV does not have a scaling feature so I am unable to properly tell it where the edge of the screen is. It seems in some games that run at the resolution, they do not do this. (For example, BF3. It shows everything within the boundaries) but my browser, desktop, and some other games fail to do so.

Jul 21, 2011I connected my HP Pavilion dv4-2165dx to my TV via the HDMI slot, and worked perfectly. I disconnected the cable from the notebook when I was done and still got the main LCD display to work. When I restarted the system, the LCD display was gone, just a blank screen with a backlight. The system is booting correctly, I can hear the windows7 startup sounds and even type my password in and access my account. So far I know that:
1. The screen hardware is not damaged, because after some reboots and taking the battery off for an hour I could get the input back with no problem (with windows complaining about being unable to boot and suggesting me to run Startup repair), but got a black screen again after rebooting again.
2. I can connect the HDMI again and get the output on the TV screen, but no main display is detected. If I toggle between displays with fn+f4, only the external HDMI-TV display works.
3. I get no startup screen either. That is, not even the first screen from where I can access the BIOS. But if I connect the HDMI-TV from the beginning I get all that info on the TV.
4. I reinstalled the Graphics driver from HP with no change.
My guess is that somewhat I messed up the default configuration and that the system is only recognizing the external displays as default displays. I haven't been able to modify this from the Control Panel - Display Settings menu, and I don't know where in the registry this default startup options could be.
Windows 7 Machine Connecting To Router But Not Internet
Aug 22, 2012I've got a Win 7 64 laptop less than a month old that spontaneously stopped connecting to the internet but says it's connecting to network devices just fine. I first noticed when I attempted to connect to my Verizon hot spot, then I connected to a restaurant's wifi. In both cases it said I had a connection but wasn't connected to the internet. I'm now on my home network trying to resolve and have the same problem. I've uninstalled, rebooted, then reinstalled the driver for the network card. I attempted to install a newer device driver from the manufacturer but it tells me there's no device connected even though I can see it in the device manager and can both uninstall and reinstall it.
When I run ipconfig (and when I look at my router) I can see I'm getting an IP address but again, I can't get on the internet. I've released and renewed the IP address. The device is set to automatically obtain an IP address and DNS servers. I've cleared my DNS cache. I've tried to reinstall TCP/IP v4. I can't ping either a URL or an IP address.
What haven't I thought of? I'm relatively new to Windows 7 so am unfamiliar with it's quirks.

Jul 2, 2011I built a new computer last August. Everything worked except my wireless. Move on to today, and still, the only issue I've ever had is with my wireless. Cabled internet works fine. Wireless does not. I've even upgraded my motherboard in this timeframe too.
Current specs are:
Mobo: Asus Crosshair IV Formula
GPU: HD 5870
CPU: Phenom II X6 1055T
RAM: 4GB of Ripjaw somethingblah
I've tried one internal N network card, and 2-3 sticks. The current one I'm trying is a TP-Link TL-WN81N 300Mpbs N Network adapter. I've used two different routers. My PS3 & iPhone connect fine. My Xbox 360 and PSP both struggle, sometimes connecting but usually not.Wireless on this computer, the issue, connects to the network fine. But it won't enable a internet connection, I never get wireless internet. Every now and then it'll work fine like nothing is wrong and other times it'll be super slow but literally 99.5% of the time it will be connected but with no internet.

Nov 19, 2009A friend of mine just bought a new laptop with windows 7 a week ago and has a belkin N150 router. After setting up the network everything was running fine and fast. Internet explorer and frostwire both worked plenty fine, but thats it. Firefox and Opera browsers both say they cannot connect to the internet, nor does the uTorrent program, and when we tried to use the mcafee antivirus from comcast it keeps coming up with an error along the lines of "unable to establish connection".
Well naturally I disabled both windows and the router's firewalls...still no luck. Then I plugged in the ethernet cable directly to the laptop, skipping the router...still no luck. Unless Comcast has some sort of stranglehold on which programs it will allow to use its internet, I believe it to be a windows issue. I have only worked with XP primarily and i know little about Windows 7. What would cause only internet explorer to have connections and leave everything else out?

Jun 1, 2012I have two operating systems installed on my Sony Vaio VPCF115FG, Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
Wi-Fi is working fine on both, however, LAN connections are only working on Windows 8 but not Windows 7. It reads the LAN connection in Windows 7 but it does not actually connect to the internet. I honestly tried everything, including uninstalling the LAN driver and reinstalling it, no use.

Connecting To Network On Win 7 - No Internet Access
Dec 25, 2009I currently have two computers in my house. One has windows xp and the other has windows 7. When I try to connect to the Internet wirelessly the windows xp computer ALWAYS works. On the other hand the windows 7 computer is only able to get Internet access around 10% of the time.
The windows 7 computer is able to connect but there is never any Internet access. I get this picture with bars and an exclamation point on it. I've tried resetting the router but this is only a temporary solution that lasts maybe a few hours.
