Windows 7 32bit / Office 2007 - Cannot Use Times New Roman Font
Aug 31, 2011
I have a 32 bit Hp 620 laptop using legal windows 7 professional and office 2007. Recently I realised that I cannot use Times New Roman Font. Earlier documents that were on the font appear tiny.
Just bought a new laptop with Windows7 64bit installed-my first exposure to Windows7. I had Office 2007 installed on my old Dell 32 bit machine. I had also recently pruchased Office 2010 and installed that on my new machine. Now, when I try to open those 32bit 2007 files with 64bt 2011, Iget an error message that "no picture file is available", or words to that effect. When I try to "open with", the only option displayed is "Microsoft Office" with an icon that looks like a picture file. When I try to browse to the proper office program(Excel, for example), there are none of teh Office suite programs displayed, only "Microsoft Office".I can navigate seperately to the proper progran, Excel, etc., and drag the file into the application, and it opens, and all seems to work OK. I "save as" the proper application file, but it still will not open with double-click on the file name.
I have Win 7/Pro 64 bit, i5 processor, 8 GB RAM.I purchased the 64 bit version of Microsoft Office (via download). Why does the Windows Update list updates to the 32 bit version of Office? Is there any reason to install (or not install) these updates?
I now have a new problem, before I managed to open 2007 files by opening Office 2010 and then from inside the application choosing to open a file. The problem I have though is if I just try to open an Office 2007 file then I can't open it, and I can't change the default program to open it. How do you get Office 2010 to open all the Office 2007 files such as word, excel etc?
I've recently got a new machine and had copied my old PST file over. Whenever I go to open it I get "File access is denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file C:Users*username*DocumentsOutlook Files*pst file name*"I created a test archive and was able to open that one (same location ) just fine.
My new computer came with Office 2010 Starter installed. I believe I activated it. Then I installed my last legal version of Office Home 2007. Now neither one seems to be working properly. I probably should have uninstalled 2010 prior to installing 2007. How do I remove 2010 without screwing up 2007?
Has anyone tried installing office 2000 after windows 7 install followed by office 2007 upgrade? I know there is a compatibility issue with office 2000, but will the upgrade still work?
I had bad surprise when I saw that MSO 2010 is smooth even under win XP. Any way to turn I off?
I found few tutorials but none of these helped sofar. I want to turn off smoothing in 2 places: 1) menus and ribbons 2) in that text area where you type.
Edit: what's worked on win 7 (uncheck smooth edges of screen fonts) doesn't on win xp. HKCUControl PanelDesktopFontSmoothing id 0
I've discovered how to increase the font size used for desktop icons, titlebars, menus etc via the advanced display preferences under Win7, but Outlook still uses a teensy font to render the names of my folders in the folders & favourites panels.
Does anyone know how to increase the fonts size there other than the Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display option? I don't want to increase the icon size and other font sizes, nor do I want to use the Set custom text size (DPI) tweak.
I am rebuilding my system (Dell vostro 410 desktop) after a hard drive crash and installation of a new hard drive. Did a clean install of windows 7 professional 32 bit. Office 2007 will not fully install, excel and power point install cleanly, word will not install properly. I get a notice that installation was successful but when I attempt to open word the program hangs up at the word logo. I can get out by using task manager. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall using control panel. I have used revo uninstall to try a more complete uninstall. I have tried uninstall on the office installation disc. Nothing works. I suspect a corrupted fragment in registry but do not know how to deal with that. I do not feel comfortable mucking about in registry myself.
In about a week, I will be starting my own intro to Windows 7.
It is an enforced introduction as my XP m/c failed on Saturday. I know that I will have some software issues with Photoshop CS2 for example but I am hoping that Office 2007 works OK.
i recently had to do a repair re-install on my toshiba qosmio G50. 32 bit windows 7 ultimate. after completion i noticed my windows office pro plus 2007 was not working. after trying to sort it out i thought the only option was to un install it from control panel then re-install.i then got this message.error 1321.setup. cannot modify the file C:program filescommon filesmicrosoft sharedOFFICE12culturesOFFICE.ODF. verify that the file exists in your system and you have sufficient permissions to update it. so i went into forums and followed recommended instructions.i did the microsoft fixit link , but still no go then tried to delete every file connected to office through the registry editor method biut still no go tried a clean boot, then tried installing but again no joy.
install office 2007 on windows 7 64 bit. I have source in my disk drive and works fine with windows 7 32 bit. But while installing the same on 64 bit it says "setup could not find any available products to install. Please Contact your system administrator"
I want to install office 2007 on MS Windows 7 home edition 64-bit. Do I need to have a 64 bit office 2007 softwa? in other words can I use the tsame office 2007 I normally use on windows 7 32-bit?
i was installing Microsoft Home and Student 2007 on my son's new laptop (hp pavillion dv6) which is running windows 7 64 bit. I got the error "Error 1704 an installation for microsoft.net framework 4 client profile is currently suspended. You must undo those changes made by that installation before continuing." I don't know what that means. Should I undo or just cancel?
Will the excel, word and power point dcuments created under office 97 and office 2007 now running on an xp machine contiue to work in Office 2010(64 bit) under Windows 7-(64 bit)? If not, would they work on Office 2010 (64) bit on Windows 7 Professional in XP mode? If not, would I need to have both Office 2007 and Office 2010 loaded (ie 2007 to use in XP 32 bt mode)
