Dell Computer PC Will Not Load Windows Install CD From Computer Crash
Jun 21, 2012I have a two year old Dell PC with Windows 7. I got a virus in my computer that by phone and computer takeover Norton located in my MBR. When they cleaned it my computer will no longer boot up. Norton worked with me for three days on the problem but we were unable to fix the computer. I followed other web sites and repaired my MBR but it still will not boot up. I tried System Repair, Check point, Image, and Dell system restore and all failed. I have tried to use the Windows install CD and all I get is a black screen with a flashing cursor and then after 3 minutes the compute attempts to boot again and fails. I tried everything to try and wipe the drive from C prompt and it will not let me. I have very weak computer skills but I can follow directions and I have wiped a previous computer I owned. (I confirmed that my CD drive is working) I also should mention I have a second hard drive on my computer that I backed everything up to.

Jul 2, 2012My xps 410 Dell computer won't turn on. What happens is I turn it on it says to start normally or startup repairs when I click startup repairs it says it can't fix it. When I start normally gets to the multi-colored flag (windows loading screen) and sits there for about 30 seconds to a minute than it either restarts or goes to a black screen and than it has yellow letters surrounded by a small blue rectangle saying "Out of range" I don't know what to do, but what I do know is that I can boot my computer into safe mode which I'm in right now (safe mode with networking)

May 23, 2012I have a HP computer that needs a clean install of windows. Problem is it has windows vista. I do not have the oem disk for the hp and the restore isnt working on the computer. Sooo I took my dell oem win7 disk and just did a clean install on the computer. Worked fine didnt ask for any sort of cd key for windows upon install either, but under windows activations says it has 3 days till automatic activation... what does this mean>? Will i be ok using this? or do i need to purchase a hp oem disk?

Jun 13, 2012I have a peculiar problem with my lappy. Once I start it the system runs for sometime (usually for 15mins to 1-2hours) and then it suddenly hangs for 15-20mins. When the system hangs, the mouse becomes a circle and nothing seems to be moving. This problem started after I installed Spybot S & D. Although I have uninstalled S & D, the problem still persists. Deploying Windows 7 To 3 Dell Models Using One Reference Computer
Nov 27, 2011At my work place, we are going to deploy Windows 7 to about 20+ computers. I am familiar with WinPE,sysprep , and imagex , but what I am not sure about is drivers for the 3 different models of dell computers I will be deploying to. Models of computers are Dell Optiplex 755 , 760 , 780Do I have to capture an image from each model and put all three images into one wim , then say imagex apply index # for the respective model?Another idea I had was to custom build a Windows 7 install usb (see below)Make a bootable Windows 7 USB stick for install, but replace the install.wim with the .wim from my reference computer (will this even work?)Then using DISM , inject ALL drivers say drivers755 , drivers760 , and drivers780 to the install.wim or boot.wim (not sure which one) so when the installer runs, it finds the neccessary drivers for the model I am installing to.
