Will Router Be Compatible With Change From 32 To 64 Bit O.S
Jul 19, 2011
I'll be upgrading from 32 bit to 64 bit win 7 pro on my Thinkpad x200. Currently using a netgear DG834G v5 router/adsl modem. Will the router be compatible with the change from 32 to 64 bit O.S ?
My 80211n wireless adapter does not pick up my clear wireless router. My OS is windows 7. My router has to be connected by Ethernet cable then it is exceedingly slow. Best location for router is in attic.

I have been having a lot of problems with my turtle beach transmitter blocking any wireless signal coming into my room, which is really odd, anyway after a few messages to the company, they have told me to changed my router frequency from 5ghz to 2.4ghz and that should solve the problem. Now I have sky Fibre, and have one of the Sagem N routers provided by sky.I have gone into the router settings and I cannot find anywhere to change a frequency.I thought the router would have been n a 2.4ghz frequency anyway
I have this problem. My tenda wireless router that I was using for a long time was transferred to the other PC. How could I get back the connection 'coz now it requires password at all. I've entered passwords but it didn't work. I want to change password now but how will I do that?
I have no choice but to try and load a program onto my Windows 7 machine that only has WinXP compatibility (well not 64-bit Windows 7 anyway) It is Samsung PC Studio for what that is worth. So my plan is to load it in XP compatible mode . The thing is there sem to be 2 parts to the program .1 is the program as such and the 2nd part is the usb drivers. I understand the procedure is to find the application file ,go to the compatibility tab and select WinXP.So my question is how do I know which are the right applications to change in this way? When I go into the folders there are quite a lot different ones . Is it really as painstaking as it seems ? I don't think when I just load the CD I am given an option to load in XP mode and when I click on the CD itself there doesn't seem to be an option to change all of the contained applications to XP compatible. Again I think I may be able to run the whole Win 7 operating system as WinXP but this seems like overkill
My wireless network: 1 Computer with ADSL modem and wireless router; The modem is connected in WAN port of router; and the computer is connected in LAN port of router. 1 Notebook with wi-fi receptor. Why a need to change my default login and password in wireless router If:
1 - The connection is encrypted with WPA2-PSK and AES with a very strong password (25 characters including letters, numbers and symbols); 2 - The SSID broadcast is disabled; 3 - The router have a MAC filter for only the my home computers; 4 - I allocated the number exactly of IP numbers to my home computers; 5 - The router Firewall is enabled and all computer of my home network have a good Internet Security (Firewall + Antivirus + Antispyware + Antispam + Antiphishing etc).
Is strictly necessary the change of my router default login and password?
Can I use my netgear DGND3300 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router with Build-in dsl modem as a second router with u-verse.ty Or not which netgear I can use?
I just upgraded my computer with a new OCZ 120GB SSD.I wanted to connect my original HDD, two 500GB WD 7200rpm.However, when I connect all three hard drives on my mobo, SSD does not appear on bios. If I connect just the SSD, it shows up, and if I connect just HDD, it shows up as well. However, I cannot find SSD from boot up priority menu if HDD is also connected. There are only three choices: HDD, DVD Drive, and Floppy disk... which I do not have.
I just installed windows 7 (build 7000) on my older dell inspiron 700m. Everything has been running smoothly except for what i believe is a video driver problem. My screen max res. is 1280x800 but it's limiting me to 1024x768 right now. I also can't do things like screen-savers, because when I try to enable them, instead of the preview, i get a message saying that it isn't compatible with Direct3D. I went to the dell website and looked around for the newest driver.
On my system info page, it says that I'm using a standard VGA graphics display.
I'm going to upgrade my Dell XPS 420's RAM (Computer memory upgrades for Dell XPS 420 Desktop/PC from Crucial.com) from 3 gigs (2x1GB & 2x512MB) to 8 gigs. Will two kits of Newegg.com - AllComponents 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model AC2/800X64/4096-KIT work even though it is a dual channel kit? Also, according to the Crucial website this is the fastest RAM my motherboard can use, is this correct?
I've recently got back into playing System Shock 2 and I have been trying to set up my XBOX 360 controller to use . So far I do have my button configuration saved BUT,when I load to play SystemShcok 2 it doesn't recognize my XPadder set up? 1) Is Xdder compatible with Windows 7 and if so, 2) Maybe I just have the folder in the wrong place.
this is about windows 7 but it could also fit in the games or hardware section too. I'm trying to run a few games in the new windows 7 but I'm running into a problem. One or two are pretty old I mean early 2000's old and when I go to install them I get an error message saying that the programs are not compatible with windows 64 bit version. My question is-is there a way to make a non compatible program compatible with 64 bit windows? Is there some setting or drive that can be changed that can make these programs work or am I pretty much done?
Is there a place to find a single list of KVM switches that are known to be compatible with Windows 7? Google results come back with pages that seem to mention such a mythical list but all that I can find is MS documentation that mentions what KVM makers need to do to be compatible with Windows 7.
I am looking for a KVM switch that can switch a VGA connected monitor and a USB mouse and keyboard between an always connected desktop running 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium and an occasional laptop running Win 7 Professional. I would like to be able to walk into a local CDW or Fry's store knowing if a given KVM on the shelf will work. I would not want to depend on just looking at units with a Win 7 compatibility sticker on the box as I might miss a less expensive older unit that may work perfectly.
Photoshop and Dreamweaver are the programs I use the most often, but will all these programs work with Windows 7 at the CS2 version level, or do I need to upgrade?
I have a problem with my IBuypower desktop. I have only had it for 3 months, and recently I've had this problem when trying to open certain programs. This is the message that pops up. "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher." This happens every time I try to run Command Prompt. This also happened to me when ever I opened up Guild Wars 2 when I had the free trial a few weekends ago. And recently (yesterday) World of Warcraft has been freezing on me. It all of a sudden happened out of nowhere, and after re-installing it, it still does it.. I've been running AVG and Total Defense Security Center, and both say there is nothing harmful on my computer. When I start up my computer, the computer checks the disks and says there is a file or program that was recently downloaded that needs to be removed, but I do not know what it is. I can't seem to find a solution to this anywhere online. Do I need to re-install Windows? I also just got blue screen.
When I made the move from Windows XP to Windows 7, I no longer have the HP printer toolbox icon on my desktop. Even tho I had to do a clean install from the original printer CD, I can't find it.
Before posting here I tried looking on the web+I'm thinking the toolbox is not compatible with Windows 7?
It was always nice to be alerted when I was running low on ink,+ now I don't even have the option to clean the print heads. If the program is not going to work with my current system, is it possible for me to manually clean the print heads?
I have Sonic ditalmedia v7 on my windows xp. If I upgrade to windows 7 will this software be compatible? If not is there a free CD and DVD copying software that is compatible ?
