View 9 Replies View Relatedwe already checked the registry keys to ensure they were set to have Num Lock on at boot - and typically he has no issues with Num Lock. However when he opens Windows Live Email it turns off Num Lock. I tested to see if opening Windows Live email would turn Num Lock on if it was off but it doesn't. It only turns Num Lock of if it is on.
I have read a few threads on this forum and the last attempt at fixing this was ... Control Panel >> Ease of Access >> Make the keyboard easier to use>>Turn on toggle keys >> On or Off? However that was unsuccessful.
I have an HP DV7 laptop. The numlock key and numbers pad are not working. I have tried 2 keyboards.

View 2 Replies View Relatedhave been trying to get Windows 7 back in full shape but no luck. First i have no optical drive so i had to do a repair disc on USB. And it worked. So i deleted my Linux partition and extended the C: volume but when i tried bootrec.exe /FixBoot i got ""volume does not contain a recognized file system" Hmm so i tried bootrec.exe /FixMbr and that worked! After some messing around in DISKPART i managed to get Windows booting again. But now my Bootloader is located at SYSTEM D: and when i try booting without the USB Repair it wont start Windows.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am new to computers and studying Networking and had an assignment where I had to load a recording program onto my desktop. I did not know that most people have the desktop in my computer. In the front so to speak but mine is located in CMyNameusers or the same path but also located in the temp folder. My instructor was suprised by this and I was wondering if someone set it up wrong or something. I am running Window 7 home premium on a Gateway NV55S. Is this where the Desktop folder should be located. If not how do I put it in the start menu?

Of course, I checked my regular videos and pictures file and found nothing... Why is this folder nowhere to be found?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just built my first pc, and I am stuck at installing windows 7 . Here's what happens, I am trying to install off a USB stick as I don't have a dvd drive for this build. It will load into the setup and it'll stop on a screen requiring me to load drivers.
Here is what it displays:
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now".
So I found drivers for my mobo Asus M5A97, I select them and then after I click next this message appears: "No new devices could be found. Make sure the driver files are correct and located on the driver installation media".
I don't know what to do! I've tried all I can think of!! Nothing seems to work! I am trying to install windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, I've tried installing windows vista 32 bit, and its been saying the same thing as well! I found the drivers here: [URL].

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Asus EEE PC 1005HAB Netbook. I has been out of warranty for about a Year and a half now. It shows nothing - nothing - unless connected to an eternal monitor. But the reasons that netbooks are so cool is because they're suppose to be portable , right? This means that if I have to plug it into a big hunka monitor then I might as well use a full desktop because my netbook is no longer portable. It's been going on for about six months. I'm just really good at procrastinating. I've checked display setting, so count that out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOK .. had (actually still have since I just installed a new hard drive for a clean install of WIN 7 and have the old drive available) XP using Outlook 2003.
Installed WIN 7, loaded the new Beta version of Office Pro 2010 (hey .. it was free and good for a year).
Don't have a Personal address book. My contacts did import into the Contact Mgr but this doesn't enable me to click on several email addys so I can send to multiple people.
Is tehre anything I can do to get the same capabilities I had WIN XP and Outlook 2010 Beta?
BTW .. I also removed Ofc 2010 and went back to my tried and true Office Pro 2003 but have the same problem.
Did the same for the Thunderbird.
I have never went to Vista (so maybe some of the shortcomings/differences were addressed there). I do have a legal copy of OFC 2007 (never been unwrapped since I heard it didn't have any new features I would use over 2003 but had a different GUI look) if that would help.
Also, Don't have all the folders I had with XP and Outlook 2003. I had a LOT of messages stored in different folders but import them (or don't know how).
Like I said .. I can put my old HD in and boot up my XP if I need to do special exports or anything.
I was extracting icons to add custom icons to my HTC Thunderbolt's framework, I extracted a huge folder to my desktop by accident and now I can't move or delete these icons on my desktop. It keeps saying..."Could not find this item, This is no longer located in C:\UsersMichaelDesktop. Verify the items location and try again"I've tried placing the file they originally came from on my desktop, moving them to the recycling bin, placing them in a new folder, rebooting and nothing works. I keep getting the message above.
