I read a couple threads on trying to change the default outlook account from POP to IMAPI realize it is not that easy to do, I have tried to do it by just deleting the pop account and setting up a new one but that does not work.When I try to change the default data file it is grayed out.

i thought the microphone of my headset had a problem so i bought a new one.. but still wont work. i went to recording device and click on microphone but there are 2 standing mic but i cant click the default device because its grayed out
View 1 Replies View RelatedPretty much all my music files (even ones in separate folders) with images associated with it (like files to show album covers which are hidden), folders inside that weren't viewable before, volume information, temporary files, etc. Which are normally hidden have suddenly become viewable and are also regarded as system files (they are all slightly greyed out along with the hidden box in properties).

Most of the time, my computer audio output is set to my on-board motherboard audio connected to simple speakers, but I frequently switch the default device to digital output through my sound card (HTO Striker 7.1). My goal is to create a file that I can keep on the desktop that will switch the default audio device. In a perfect world, it would switch back and forth between the 2 settings that I use, but I understand that it might be too much to ask for. I have a bit of experience with batch files in XP, but that was essentially reverse-engineering things that I found online.

I have ie9 set as default browser. I have my email defaulted, as use my current email address. I rebooted after these setting changes. Yet both 'Send Page by Email' and 'Send Link by Email' are still grayed out. How to activate (ungray) these 2 commands?
Restore system settings and previous versions of file is greyed out on my system, I may have disabled a required service for this. As I'm about to try the X-Fi MB2 mod again as the last time I tried it my system was messed up that it wont even recognize my actual X-Fi card properly. So I'm thinking a system restore can work with this experiment.

Twice data from a copy appeared in an excel spreadsheet and once a picture copied in facebook appeared in an email. The excel problem is very worrysome as it is our family budget. how this could happen? In the case of the excel events no paste operation was intentionally done.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI build, and then support many computers for my friends and family. I have recently started making them feel a bit more "manufactured" by using a factory-style recovery option (press F9 at boot to enter recovery / uses a hidden recovery partition etc...).
The issue I have though, is I often get asked to "wipe" someone's computer following a virus/malware infestation (and yes, I do supply AV, but that isn't always enough).
So, I use Sysprep to install all additional software, drivers etc... but the one problem I have is that I like to have, and usually always configure PC's to store items like Documents/Pictures/Music/Videos etc... on a seperate partition.
The problem is, when I configure this in Sysprep - the settings are lost when the user completes OOBE.
Ideally, I do not want to move the entire "Users" directory, I just want the libraries to never look at any folders on the C: drive, only the ones on D: (D:\%USERNAME%Documents etc...).
I want it so that when files "detect" where to save, it locates the appropriate directory on the D: drive, so they dont have to always manually locate the folders.
The reason I dont want the entire "Users" folder on D: is that following a restore or 2, it will get messy...
I would like to either automate this during setup, or would happily take a manual approach during Sysprep - as long as it applied these settings to all users as and when they are created.
I would like the cleanest way to do this, ideally without junctions/symlinks.
I upgraded from Vista Business to Seven Home Premium. Used Office 2007 in Vista and using it in Seven. In Vista, my .pst file was C:OutlookMyOutlookFolder.pst. Added it to Outlook using Data File Management, but none of my calendar entries appeared (my inbox and all my other folders are OK). When I upgraded from XP to Vista, this worked fine.Where are my Calendar entries?

In file associations it shows that .vob is linked to powerdvd. Is there a way so that when I doubleklick the dvd I want to play powerdvd is started.
I don't want to delete windows media player (I haven't found out yet how you do it yet).

My machine defaults to 'small' icon size, but I prefer the 'large' one, in just about every case. I would prefer her to install the games to "c:\program files\games" rather than "c:\program files" as that folder ends up getting so cluttered that I can't tell what's in there. Is there a way to change the default installation location from "c:\program files" to "c:\program files\games"?
