Been so long since I played a DVD on my PC, and now I am.
I watch TV on WMC. Should WMC come up when inserting a DVD?
When I just popped one in, it started playing immediately, and that's OK, in WMP.
Whenever i insert a DVD into my DVD drive, my system gets shutdown and reboots.And after rebooting it shuts down again.Unless i eject the DVD, my PC wont come to normal state. In Short, When DVD Drive reads the DVD, system gets shutdown.

How can I get Windows 7 to ask me each time I pop in a disc what to do with it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a while I got a bluescreen when inserting my headphones. I've fixed it by locking the computer and then inserting them. However, while I don't get a bluescreen, there's just this buzzing sound. It only comes from the left headphone and it's only when I try to play any sort of sound. And no, it's not the headphones because it comes out of the speaker as well and I've used these headphones earlier on my iPod.
I have an Inspiron 1545 that's about two years old with Windows 7 Home Premium.
this is the msg appearing in a black surface of my pc. i have this gateway one zx6000 for about a year and a half.windows 7. i dont have my disc anymore. i have tried changing the bios to hard disk drive only and disabled the other devices but still not giving any changes. how will i reboot this pc without a disc?

This is mostly a problem for me because certain programs in my tray are not restored and I have no way to access them after that even though they are still running. Could you help me figure out why this is happening or how to access a program if it's tray icon disappears?I've got an HP Pavillion Elite HPE and I've noticed this occurring with all of my front facing USB Ports.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOf late my laptop's DVD-ROM has been giving a lot of problems to me. It isn't being able to read CDs/DVDs. Each time I have to eject the disc, then insert it and do the entire process a lot of times for the CD/DVD to be read.This problem has irritated me for a while now. There are many games which need the CD/DVD to be inserted, and each time when I change the discs, it takes away at least 5-6 minutes.Is there a way by which I can back up the discs in my HDD and play the games without inserting each CD/DVD every time? And the problem is DVD specific. For instance, the DVD of Ashes Cricket 09 is read in 2-3 attempts but that of NBA 2K11 takes at least 7-8 attempts for the laptop to read the disc. Is it a problem with my laptop or the DVDs? And I tried installing Alcohol 120% and Daemon Tools, but the installation process keeps on asking me to reboot. After a reboot, it gives the same message.I read somewhere that there are some issues of SPTD drivers on Windows 7 but couldn't really find a solution to it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs it stands right now, my Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card will not allow me to plug in my headphones via the front panel of my desktop. (This makes sense, as the onboard audio solution was disabled upon installation of the card.)Thinking that this would only be a minor setback, I purchased a simple Y audio cable that enabled me to plug in both the speakers and the headphones at the same time.Unfortunately, this does *not* work as well as I intended. (It merely reduces the output of each, while simultaneous emitting sound. Nothing is muted.) Furthermore, it seems I can not get my card to actually *detect* the headphones.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt came with 2 primary partitions: a 650 gb C drive (boot) and a 50 gb D drive (recover). Because the windows partition tool didn't let me reduce the partition size by more than 50%, I decided to use EaseUS partition master to do that. I made D drive logical and renamed it to F, made the C drive 200 gb and made a new 400 gb logical drive and named it D. Then I restarted the laptop and let the tool do its work. After this, the problem started. I couldn't get past the bios screen, and couldn't even tap F2 and F8 to get in the boot menu. When I inserted my windows 7 recovery dvd, I heard the dvd drive working, but nothing happened. When I plugged in a usb drive, however, the laptop loaded the cd drive and I could reinstall windows 7 from the cd. Windows works now, actually, even my old windows installation still works, but I still can't boot up without inserting the usb drive first.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy lapotop is HP Pavilion 9750 running Windows 7 Enterprise (with the latest updates). When I'm inserting the HDMI cable to view my screen on the TV it automatically shows the video, but I have to manually change the default playback from "Speakers" (Realtek High Definition Audio) to "Realtek Digital Output" (Realtek High Definition Audio) so I could hear the audio from my TV and not from the computer.
Is there a way to make that switch automatically when I connect/disconnect the HDMI cable?
