Can Back Up Discs In HDD And Play The Games Without Inserting Each CD/DVD Every Time?
Jul 10, 2011
Of late my laptop's DVD-ROM has been giving a lot of problems to me. It isn't being able to read CDs/DVDs. Each time I have to eject the disc, then insert it and do the entire process a lot of times for the CD/DVD to be read. This problem has irritated me for a while now. There are many games which need the CD/DVD to be inserted, and each time when I change the discs, it takes away at least 5-6 minutes. Is there a way by which I can back up the discs in my HDD and play the games without inserting each CD/DVD every time? And the problem is DVD specific. For instance, the DVD of Ashes Cricket 09 is read in 2-3 attempts but that of NBA 2K11 takes at least 7-8 attempts for the laptop to read the disc. Is it a problem with my laptop or the DVDs? And I tried installing Alcohol 120% and Daemon Tools, but the installation process keeps on asking me to reboot. After a reboot, it gives the same message.I read somewhere that there are some issues of SPTD drivers on Windows 7 but couldn't really find a solution to it.
I cannot get VLC player to play Blue Ray discs, I have downloaded a file called libaacs.dll and placed it in the VLC folder that is in the Roaming folder inside AppData but I still cannot get VLC to play Blu-ray discs.
I can't get my PC system to play Blu-ray discs. I have tried several different play programs (WinDVD and 2 versions of Cyberlink). Both programs try to update the AACS key every time I try to play a disc.Neither one is successful, I guess because the movie never will play.
dont have a clue, trying to get files from back up discs on my computer, after having to reset back to like new.lost everything, but have back up discs, just dont know how to do it
I accidentally deleted some important files/folders which caused the whole downloaded videos/games get lost in a few minutes,i didnt even notice that it was deleting.I tried system restore but it didnt work,is there any other way to get your systems time back up for 2-3 days back?
I have Windows 7 for about a year now and I really didn't have any problems up until a few months ago. My mouse pointer would start refreshing/flickering every 5 minutes or so and it would slow down anything I was watching or playing at the time. It doesn't really bother me when I watch movies because I can just shake the mouse and it would stop but when I play games I can't do anything about it and so I can't really play any games. I asked my repair man, he also has Windows 7 but he didn't know how to fix it.
My computer can run games fine for about 5 minutes, but that's about it. Then it will experience extreme lag, to the point where my FPS drops to 1-5. Usually I would think my video card is bad, but I don't believe so because it has played games fine in the past.
I am trying to play some games, but I can't because of this problem. I only have 64mb dedicated video memory, when in fact, I have 1696mb graphics memory. Also, there is a combined graphics card, one worse than the other, and I always seem to be suing the worse one, whne i want to use the better one. BTW, I am using an ASUS.
I am a 54 year old woman who has played games since I first had computers. My favs are Wild Tangent Games, Big Fish Games, and the Iwon site, among others. But now that I put Windows 7 on my computer it will hardly ever let me play unless I put my computer totally at risk by turning off all safety software, and checking the most dangerous things under Internet Properties. Isn't there a better way.
I have two desktops. Both are connected via a Ethernet switch. Both desktops are detecting each other. I can also share files from both the desktops. But i cant play LAN games. I'm making server from a desktop but other desktop not detecting it. Same case on both desktops. Till now i have tried NFS most wanted v1.3 and willrock. I installed same version of games in both the pc but not working.
I have the problems with playing games on my windows 7. At first, i can played most of the games that can be downloaded from websites. But now, I can't play most of the games.. The error message shows that there's the problem with my graphic card, and keep asking me to change the resolution and color depth. I didn't do anything with resolution and color depth, therefore no need to do anything. I'm currently using the "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver" and I've tried to upgrade to new one. But, I got the problem with installation What kind of driver should i installed ?
my computer does not want to play 3D games..and someone said i should get the graphics..my motherbaord is gigabyte...my computer its meccer...it has 1 gig ram
Windows freezes at random interval's while I play game's, but it seems to be only with certain games not particularly graphically intense but 3d accelerated none the less. I've done everything I can think of to fix it,
1)Scan disk 2)Defrag 3)Mem-test 4)Windows totally updated 5)Tried drivers version 185, 190 and 192.62 or whatever the latest ones are from 1/8/10 6)I checked my drives to ensure there was no corruption 7)disabled services 8)disabled programs at startup 9)Scanned my registry 10)Scanned for Malware 11)Scanned for Virus's, spyware all the stuff. 12)turned of the UAC 13)ran in compatiblity mode (which never works so I don't know why I ever bother doing it) 15)all my other drivers are the most recent version even my mouse. 16)tried 2 different Nvidia cards. 17)change all kinds of settings in bios, even the stupid cool'n'quiet bs. 18)questioned myself on why I bought an Nvidia card since my wife has an identical computer with an ATI card and has no problems. 19)Checked the event logs, all thats in them is error auditing has stopped, and the computer is recovered from my un=lawfull attempt to hard-restart it after it froze. 20)I have a 750 Corsair PSU no problem with power, 21)my cpu at max runs at 40C, my GPU is max around 50. 22)I tried all the suggestions Nvidia offered which equals 0 23)I tried all the support microsoft offered which was ensure the power is turned on. 24)dxdiag say's everythings ok. 25)Disabled the Aero Theme 26)Tried Completely disabling my second monitor. 27)Updated motherboard drivers, Chip set drivers, 28)Checked Reliability monitor and Events log, nothing. 29)Disabled physx.
I don't know what to do with it, I meen theres a-lot of stuff I have done other then that I cannot remember even. It ran fine on vista 64, which this computer was on when I upgraded to 7 Ultimate 64.
my pc freezes everytime i play games like cod modern warfare 2, 3, fifa 13, nfs mw or gta sa.. After 5-10 mins of gameplay pc freezes and a buzzing noise starts to come out from the speakers.i need to press the restart button everytime. my specs are:
biostar h55 hd mobo 2gb x 2 ddr3 ram @1333 hmz intel core i5 650 @3.20 ghz 500 gb hdd cm elite power 350w psu screen res. 1366x768 Win 7 ultimate 64 bit sp1
so everytime I log-in to my computer it basically restores back to a certian point. And also It starts as a black screen with nothing except for my mouse until I open Task manager and run explorer.exe which for some reason doesnt run on its own anymore. Its probably due to the fact that I wanted to put a cool theme on my computer and that involves replacing the explorer.exe file and explorerframe.dll file, and I did that. But then I decided I didn't need a theme so I put the original Explorer.exe and explorerframe.dll back on to replace the ones I put on before. It changed everything back to normal except for the start orb. I wanted the old start back or atleast a new one. So I got windows Start orb changer. It worked well for some time until at one point everytime I turned on my computer I got an error saying expstart.exe failed and something about bitmaps. and It just black screens until I run explorer.exe from the task manager...and goes back a day or so
A few months ago I did a fresh install of Windows 7, I went from 32 bit to 64 bit. Since then every once in a while I notice that my clock is 2 hours off, I am in central time and when it loses time it loses 2 hours.
I would normally think if I am losing time it is my CMOS battery but it's not like I am losing time, like 23 minutes or an hour and 5 minutes, it is always 2 hours exactly when it happens.
Using dual monitors. Trying to find out how to configure how to play a game and watch video at the same time. Using VLC player for the video. Tried playing a game, and the video freezes but the audio is still playing.
I had an issue recently where I upgraded from OEM Vista x86 to Windows 7 Professional x86. There was very little sound coming from the internal speakers. I also had major BSODs from then, so obviously I was focusing my attention on the BSODs as a priority. That issue has been resolved, however, or, at least, I implemented a workaround - reinstalling Vista. I no longer have BSODs. The audio, however, is still extremely quiet. I've checked the following:
- Went into properties and maximised the 'levels' on everything. - Went into volume mixer and maxed everything. - Went into Devmgmt.msc and tried updating drivers - drivers already up-to-date.
I have two internal speakers as well as what I guess is a subwoofer (I'm terrible with hardware - its icon looks like a box server or something. I'm currently at work so I'll upload screenshots when I get home). Only one speaker plays at a time. I can change between the speakers by right clicking and saying "set as default speaker" and that plays sound out of one at a time with no problems, unless I choose the subwoofer(?). Is there a way to make both speakers play at the same time, instead of just using one of them?
