I have searched everywhere and tried everything to get the alps driver on my hardware working but every install file I find comes back and says I need a 64 bit version of dpinst.exe
The ONLY reason I need this is because I want to switch off touch to tap on the touchpad as it is very annoying if you accidentally touch it when typing.
Trying to find a way to get the webcamera on my viao working with skype.
Windows 7 Installed USB Video Device but it doesn't work with any application.

Alright, I honestly don't know where else to put this/look for answers as google doesn't help.
I just received my new Phone, the Samsung Gravity (sgh-t456) I believe sgh-t459 for people in the states, and I'm trying to get it my pc to recognize it via usb. The CD that came with it can't install, it gives me all kinds of errors.. The samsung website is impossible to navigate and I can't find their support forums (even if they do exist..)
My OS is Windows 7 RC1 64bit.. and uh.. That's all I can think of from the top of my head. If you need more info, ask and I'll be glad to help you help me.
is it okay to have 32 bit drivers on windows 7 64 bit? sorry, newbie here and btw what are the cons of running 32 bit applications on 64 bit?

View 5 Replies View RelatedHere's the thing, I'm trying to get my old Thrustmaster Tacticalboard game controller peripheral going again, problem is that it's a bit old by now, bought it in 2003.One of the things that are necessary for it to work is the driver package is supposed to install a virtual Thrustmaster Keyboard and Thrustmaster Mouse drivers during the installation, but this isn't happening for me.Drivers are 32bit, I'm running Win 7 64bit, drivers for this peripheral are no longer developed by Thrustmaster so there is no point askinasically Windows 7 installs it's default keyboard and mouse driver for this device and ignores the ones provided by the drivers package, which renders the device half-useless, keybinding isn't possible since the software doesn't see any device it's meant to modify, can't change any settings which isn't of any use for me since it's in need of pre-configuration to adjust it to your own individual needs/preferences.Is there any way I can enforce use of these drivers? Or enforce the installer to put it's own drivers to use just for this device?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been scouring the interwebs since successfully installing Windows 7 64bit RTM last night when my XP box got the "ntfs.sys corrupt or missing" and I could not for the life of me restore it. Screw XP, it was time to install Windows 7 anyhow right. Every piece of hardware was detected and installed except for my wireless card.
I have a AirNet AWD154, Linkskey LKW-G553, and Airlink 101 AWLH3026T.
Luckily I had 3 total so I was sure one was bound to work, but no, not even after downloading the newest drivers from the manufacturers website. Since at least 2 of the 3 use Marvell Libertas chipsets I figured getting that latest (3.1.1.7) generic driver would work.
In all cases I either get a "no compatible driver found at this location" or "installed but cannot start".
I have never installed a new os from start. Do i need to download drivers for my mobo ready for a fresh windows7 install?Or does it find them automatically on the windows disc? Or online later? I have drivers on disc for all other hardware, but not mobo.
