Aug 19, 2011Back in Windows XP, I was able to increase a PS/2 mouse's sampling rate from its default setting to 200 Hz at `Device Manager > Mouse > 'Name of Mouse' > Properties > Advanced Settings > Sample Rate` (like this [link]), but this setting is now gone in Windows 7. Is there another way to increase or change a PS/2 mouse's polling/refresh/sample rate in 64-bit Windows 7?The mouse uses generic installed-by-Windows default drivers back in XP, and the same with Windows 7.Edit: The screenshot is not from my PC. I just got it somewhere in the internet. It is just to illustrate how to edit a PS/2 mouse's sample rate back in Windows XP.

When the computer is power on it goes pass POST then does not find a bootable device, so these are the steps I've done so far.Booted to Windows 7 CD and tried the following:1. startup repair2. bootrec /fixmbr, /fixboot and /rebuildbcd - when rebuildbcd I get "Total identified Windows installations: 0"3. bootsect /nt60 c:4. command prompt and using DISKPART found that the only disk in the system was not active, so I made it active and now when I boot the system I get NTLDR missing5. bcdedit - I get access denied when accessing C:now I'm stuck ... i've read several forums, including this one, but I can't find a solution to this problemmaybe because c: is not accessible, windows repair does not see the installation of windows?

Nov 15, 2012A friend of mine has a problem with his Windows Live Mail client. He's running Win 7 HP 64 bit with the Windows Live Mail client and a Hotmail ID. His problem is that he sometimes sees emails mysteriously multiplying emails in his folders - this includes his deleted mail folder!
We have tried asking questions in the official Microsoft Mail forums but have received no response. What I would like to do is to delete his Mail.MSMessageStore database in both the Windows Live Mail folder and the Backup folder. I believe doing this will cause Windows Live Mail to recreate the Mail.MSMessageStore database. However I would like to be sure, before I do this, that he will continue to have access to all his (offline) Storage Folders, as well as his normal mail folders, after doing this. Does anyone know whether deleting the MSMessageStore database will cause any data loss or is it a totally harmless step?
Mic Won't Pick Up Voice?
Aug 23, 2010i have windows 7 64-bit with realtek on board sound and i can't get my mic to work and as i and my friend try to fix it we realize that that mic won't pick up my voice but my friends hear what i hear on the pc for example if i put a music on the pc from Internet my friend will hear the music but not my voice, i have a razer carcharias headset and yes i plugged it right and i even tried on my dad's laptop he has vista and it worked fine. and fyi my mic worked perfectly before but all the sudden it stop working, one dad my pc crashed because the graphics card got loose and i turned it back on and i realize my mic is not working anymore. i pretty much did almost all the procedures, will buying a sound resolve this problem, by sound card i mean a actually sound card or a external usb 1, it depends on which i can afford.

When I clear my browser (IE9) cache, cookies etc, whether via ccleaner or the delete browsing history general tab, I get an annoying voice telling me "how to clear cache, then cookies etc" whenever I open a new window or most new tabs for a sometime afterwards, eventually it stops occuring, obviously fed up with me hitting the mute button, I've checked the audio settings in the ease of access center in control panel, all off & ok, the voice is different anyway.
