I have a winfast k8m890m2ma-rs2h motherboard and i want to upgrade my ram to 4 gig.
I dont know if i am able to though, because the infomation on the box and in the manuel doesnt tell me how much ram the motherboard can support. It is an am2 socket board but no where does it say the amount of ram it supports.
I was woundering if anyone has this board and/or knows how much ram this motherboard can support?
I've a desktop pc.but there is some problems from few days.sometimes it's display turn of and again restart.show a notification that display graphics problem.but it took few seconds.sometimes pc running, but no display.if I restart pc,it does not take.the PC configuration is Dual Core Processor 2.7ghz with 1 GB ram.Is windows 7 Ultimate edition is appropriate for this?It also took automatic update for windows.
The computer didn't come with a windows DVD, and i deleted the recovery partition (a stupid waste of storage space).I have a serial number in the battery bay of the laptop, but i don't have the DVD.Is there a way to download the OEM version of windows 7 home premium 64 bit?My computer is a HP Probook 4530s.
I would like to ask this straightforward question: does Windows 7 Ultimate Edition support both 32 and 64 bits? I have a legal copy of it and installed it on my Vista Business PC, but it seems to be running at 32 bits only. Is it because of this Vista only supporting 32 bits? How do you tell the bits your OS is running at?
I have Windows 7 Pro Upgrade Edition 32bit ATM as i am a student and got it as student edition i only got the 32bit disc I wanted to know was there a place i can get the offical 64bit iso from and will my 32bit key work on it?
I bought Windows 7 Ultimate edition and installed it on my laptop. This laptop has a Windows media centre edition 2002 cd key sticker attached.I then went on to install vmware and tried to install windows xp mce on it.Now I lost the recovery disk supplied and the laptop manufacturer asked me to pay in order to re-deliver the disk. So I downloaded Windows XP MCE 2005 OEM edition instead but it does not take the cd key I was supplied it with. Here is my question,a. Why isn't the windows accepting my cd key prior to the installation? I thought the cd key supplied from laptop are all OEM copies and I am using the same machine?Could it be due to the different cpu and ram amount allocation? [i.e. allocating 1 cpu to vmware while the machine has 2?] I upgraded my hard disk and installed additional 1gb ram. Apart from these all other devices are identical
I just bought a new Hp Pavilion dv7-6b11. It comes with preinstalled Windows 7 64bit Home Premium. I also installed a new ssd drive. I want to have as primary the ssd with Windows 7 and secondary the original hdd. I mean I want the Hp's Windows 7 version to be installed in my new ssd disk. Ok, I thought I could download Windows 7 original and activate it with my stickers serial. But what about the drivers which are already preintalled? I think it's a classic problem (the "I bought a new laptop, I installed a new ssd and I want to install the original-preinstalled Windows 7 on ssd") but I haven't found a proper solution.
I have gone all the way through step 13 of this guide: Clean Install Windows 7hen I get to enter the product ID, it says it won't accept it. When I talk to Microsoft, they say I have to have XP already installed on this new HDD in order to use this ID
Set Up Your Home Network, Windows 7 Edition. Here’s how you can get your Windows 7 PC to share printers and files with XP and Vista PCs--and even a Mac.
With Windows 7, you can more easily share files and printers across a network via the new HomeGroups feature. HomeGroups lets you connect to files and printers with a group password--if all the PCs have Windows 7. But I'll show you how to get your Windows 7 PC to play nicely on a network that also has Macs and XP/Vista PCs.
I'm thinking to upgrade from Home Premium to Professional or from Home Premium To Ultimate, I have 4GB of DDR3 and when I boot my computer and log in it will say it's 32% full and like to have it like that full so Does Win 7 Professional uses more memory than Windows 7 Home Premium?Does Win 7 Ultimate uses more memory than Win 7 Home Premium?
I have a laptop that once contained Vista on it. The hard drive was broke and is being replaced. If I purchase a system builder edition of Windows 7, will it install and work correctly? I read something about Vista being bonded to the motherboard.

i am running windows 7 ultimate on my Dell Inspiron desktop. I keep getting error codes whenever i try to install the sp1. I have tried everything that Microsoft has recommended. I have used the update tool and even took all the language packs off my system. I am still having the same problems. All other updates run fine.
"Windows 7 will be able to take advantage not only of faster CPUs, but of multiple processors on a single chip. The 64-bit edition of the operating system in particular will be able to support over 64 Logical Processors per machine.
In this regard, Microsoft underlined the need for software developers to adapt their applications in accordance with the evolution of processor chips and that of the Windows operating system.
Essentially, consistent gains in performance are synonymous with using parallel programming techniques in concordance with many-core processors. This is where non-uniform memory access (NUMA) comes in.
“The 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 support more than 64 Logical Processors (LP) on a single computer,” Phil Pennington, Windows Server Technical Evangelism, revealed. “New processors are now appearing that leverage non-uniform memory access (NUMA) architectures.
Within the near future, a system with 4 CPU sockets, 8 processor-cores per socket, and with Simultaneious Multi-Threading (SMT) enabled per core, will achieve 64 Logical Processors. Many server-class solutions will need to be architected with NUMA awareness in order to achieve linear performance scaling on 64+ LP systems.”
NUMA is a designed to allow a way around the limitations of the processor bus. Because of its non-linear characteristics, each processor is more intimately connected with its proximate memory, rather than with all the memory available. Unlike the Symmetric Multi-Processor (SMP) model, in which processors are all on par when it comes down to memory and I/O access, NUMA allows for memory access optimization.
“There is nothing the matter with NUMA – machines with non-uniform memory access speeds – of course, other than the fact that they introduce complex, hardware-specific programming models if you want to build applications that can harness their performance and capacity effectively.
What is decidedly new is the extent to which previously esoteric NUMA architecture machines are becoming mainstream building blocks for current and future application servers. For the connected applications of the future, our ability to build programming models that help server application developers deal with complex NUMA architecture performance considerations is the singular challenge of the many-core era,” Windows Performance Engineer Rick Vicik explained. "
Just got windows 7 the other day for my laptop and I'm loving it so far. Runs absolutely fab on my HP DV9000. However I'm having some issues with wireless driver compatibility for my gaming machine. I'm running 64 bit windows 7 and I'm having to manually install the 64 bit driver for the built in wireless card for my motherboard. I install the driver, it detects the device no problem, and I can even see wireless networks. However when I try to connect to my home network, after I put the WPA-PSK passphrase in, it automatically fails to connect right away. I am convinced this is a driver issue because it works flawlessly on my vista ultimate 64 bit install.
Has anyone else had a problem with this board/driver?
The internal wireless card is the Asus WiFi AP-Solo module (realtek 81somethingorother chip name, I'll grab it when I get home)
I've recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate Edition onto my imac using bootcamp last week, and it has been working perfectly fine, and then randomly starting today I get a BSOD less then 5 minutes after being logged into the windows side... and i don't have time to read the BSOD because it auto restarts.
I have one DVD with all windows 7 included both 86, 64 I want to customize installation in the screen that you choose Os edition, I want to go direct to the one I customize previously without user to click and choose.
I want it goes direct and install ultimate or give only professional option and goes without user interaction, , Is there I way to do this?
I just ordered an SSD and will be migrating my Windows 7 64 install over to it. Most people seem to say I should do a fresh install instead of cloning the old drive. Currently my OS is on a partition on my HDD, while the rest of my files reside on a different partition on the same drive.
Where this gets slightly trickier is that my version of Windows 7 is an upgrade edition. From what I remember reading before my initial install, the installer is much happier and the process is much smoother if it can detect an existing Windows installation somewhere on the system. But on the other hand, everyone seems to advise disconnecting all drives but the SSD when installing (to avoid having the boot loader install on the wrong drive?).
I can't have it both ways. The closest I've found to someone with my same dilemma is here: Upgrade Installation - To new SSD From XP
It sounds like in the end he had to do the reinstall workaround (install Windows 7 again over the invalidated installation).
As you may know, you can purchase Windows Vista Upgrade Edition at half the price of the full version, and do a clean install from a blank system pretty easily - you do a clean install but do not enter the product key, then do a re-install from boot and this time enter your upgrade key - voila, a clean full install of Vista.
This is useful for those of us who own a previous version of Windows but want to do a clean install (previous versions of Windows allowed us to insert previous CD to prove ownership but Vista doesn't for some reason).
Does anyone know if this trick will be available for Windows 7? As a genuine owner of Vista, I aim to buy the upgrade edition of Windows 7 but always do clean installs and never 'soft' upgrades so I don't want to have to install Vista first each time.
I've bought one of these to use, and just got a question or two. When I use this remote to set the PC to sleep, will it awake to record programs? I read something about it needing to use the S3 sleep state (or standby mode). Is it essential to use standby mode for recording, or can I use hibernation?I'm assuming pressing any button the remote will wake the computer?
Windows 7 Starter Edition cannot be purchased--you have to get it on a netbook. Heh heh heh. Of course, some of us live in Mexico, where...never mind, the Federalies might be reading this.Anyway, you cannot play DVDs with Starter Edition. Just suppose someone in Mexico has a regular desktop with Starter Edition (and No, it isn't me).
So here is my dream scenario. I do a fresh install of windows 7. Then i install all of my apps and codecs that i want. Once i have it configured exactly the way i want, i use a program to convert my installaltion into an iso that fits onto a dvd or dual layer dvd. Now, whenever a client wants a new computer, all i do is pop in that dvd, install and enter his license code. No more need to download, execute and click next for 2 hours. This install would be exactly like the one i set up beforehand. What i need is a program that does this. Open source is a requirement. I know i could swim through google, find a list of programs that does all this and then slowly weed them out till i find one that is decent. But it would be great if someone who does this task often could share how they do it with me, saving me hours/days of mind numbing labor.
When I plug in my TI-84 Plus Silver Edition I get a "driver not installed" alert. I have Windows 7 and have installed the latest version of TI Connect. If I go to Device Manager and look for the driver, the dialog boxes indicate that no driver is installed. Where can I download a driver. I sent them a message and the return message indicated that they had not read my message.
I would realy like to install Nero 6.6.0.18 Ultra Edition on my new Laptop running Windows 7 Professional (32bit). I have no problem paying for a newer version but 6.6.0.18 is the newest version that will run with DVD Shrink. Can I install and run it in compatability mode. It runs flawlessly on Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
