View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Logitech USB headset, and it worked fine for the first few days I had it. I noticed, however, about two days after the purchase that it failed to work. My USB mouse worked fine, however, so I figured it was the headset. I discarded the headset and continued using the built-in microphone. Later, however, when I had to restart my system in order to install an update, my mouse stopped working as well (they work fine on other computers). I looked to see what the problem was in the Device Manager, and my Universal Serial Bus driver was apparently damaged.
As well as my Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller and my Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller. I attempted to uninstall, reboot my system, and then let Windows automatically reinstall the drivers, but they always fail to do so in the middle of the installation process. I then attempted to do a system restore the day before both the Windows update and then before the problems with the USB headset, but the problem persisted. If all else fails, I might have to reformat, but I do not want to have to result to that extreme since I cannot salvage anything of value onto an external hard drive.
The PCI to USB Controller has the error: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
The OpenHCD USB controller has the error: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
The Universal Serial Bus USB Controller has the error: The Drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28). The system cannot find the file specified. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
I currently run on an HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC and run Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 (64-bit)...

View 4 Replies View Relatedhow i can reinstall my main audio drivers so they stay installed and so i don't have to uninstall and reinstall them at every startup. it still says it's in use if i try to test it before reinstalling. to reinstall it i've been going to playback devices, right click properties, click properties on the new window, change settings on the next, last window click the driver tab and uninstall. then i go to device manager and scan for changes. it's really a pita DISREGARD THIS: ok so i've been trying to port audio from firefox to reaper + asio4all and found that i can do it with VAC. i first tried another program called virtual audio streaming but that didn't work. when i got VAC i uninstalled VAS first. since i've had VAC installed i can't listen to anything over my monitor's speakers (have computer hooked to monitor with hdmi). if i have "Digital Audio (hdmi)" set as the default audio device, the audio won't even start. for example if a start a movie in vlc and then realize there's no sound i can't just switch the default device to something else (usually can do this) i have to stop the video select a different device and start the video again. flash stuff online just won't play until i change the device. if i try to go to the properties of "Digital Audio (hdmi)" > advanced > and hit test it tells me the device is being used by another program. this was making me think that maybe it was because VAC was using that device to port the audio from windows or something. didn't really make complete sense but i uninstalled VAC, restarted my pc and it still does the same thing. i tried uninstalling the drivers (windows default drivers, the downloadable drivers IDT high def audio cause problems with other programs so i don't use them and would prefer not to) and restarting so they would reinstall but that did nothing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLong version: I have been looking all over forums for the past two days on how to make a custom boot USB or DVD that installs Windows 7 unattended that also installs programs that I want such as Office 2007, Photoshop. I understand that I can use RT Se7en Lite to make a custom booting Windows 7 DVD/USB that removes or adds windows features as well as updates and the service pack. I want to be able to have the bootable USB install my programs as well. I hate installing Windows then manually setting up every program, anti-virus, Google Chrome, uTorrent, etc. This is different than making a specific computer image. I already have images of computers. I want a universal image that has the basic drivers and programs on it that I can install on multiple laptops/PC's if one crashes. Mainly Microsoft Office 2007, Avast anti-virus, malwarebytes, and the latest Windows updates.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my 64bit fujitsu lifebook laptop has run into some crazy problems the last few days. Including freezing every several minutes for ages. BSOD a few times a day. Nothing along the taskbar opening. Task Manager making the whole screen turn black etc.I researched alot and tried many things, including chkdsk which just takes to long for it to be realistic (i judge it would take about 1 week to finish)That being said, i want to do a repair install of windows 7, but when i use my universal disc (which has 32bit and 64bit windows 7 on it) it returns the error after the compatibility check:
- You can't upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 64-bit version of the installation disc, or go online to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings.
- 32-bit Windows cannot be upgraded to a 64-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 32-bit version of the Windows installation disc. is there a workaround for this? I know people can make a universal disc easily, so maybe there is a way to do this in reverse
just done a clean install retail Windows 7 Home Premium OS and have not been able to locate driver for the above. I used the disc which came with the computer for drivers etc and managed to install everything that was showing driver needed except for this. I have not used any USB devices as yet so is totally clean.

I can't use the .exe provided because it will only install on the Vista OS, extracting it would bypass this check and force install.

View 4 Replies View Relatedwant to download for my machine
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed Win7 Pro 64bit on my new build and want the new build to have access my HP 6p over my (wired) LAN. The HP 6p is connected to a machine running 32 bit XP Pro. I want to print with the HP 6p from the Win 7 Pro 64bit machine (which will be dual booted with XP Pro 64bit as soon as that OS arrives in the mail), as well as couple of other XP pro 32bit machines, and one oldster still running 2000Pro, on the network. Based on maroxur's advice url.. I've downloaded the HP Universal print drivers (PCL5, PCL6 & PS, all 64bit). I think I will need to use the PS driver because I want to be able to print from Corel Word Perfect and Adobe Pro 7, but am not sure how to load the 64bit PS driver when I can't get the Win7 Pro machine to "see" the HP 6p printer share in the XP Pro machine it's attached to. Logistically, it would be difficult to attach the HP 6p to the Win7 Pro machine, but if that's the only way (or the best way) I could do it if I can find a good USB adapter for my parallel port.My network is a "hub & spoke", from a router, if that makes any difference.
Additionally, I've been reading about the MS/HP "Printer Isolation" protocols url... and think I should probably set up the Win7 Pro machine as the print server and then use the "Isolation mode" mode for all printers in the network, but am not sure. I added the "Print Management" snap in to the MMC, but am not really sure where to go from there.
