All I want is to create a password when I use my laptop (Windows 7 preinstalled, Toshiba Satellite), as I used to do on my XP laptop.I've tried to set a paassword for the Administrator Account but I get the message: ''You are creating a password for ---. If you do this, you will lose all EFS-encrypted files, personal certificates and network resources. To avoid losing data in the future, ask user to make a password reset floppy disk.''I have no idea what this means. Does this mean that I have to make a rest disc before I create a password??I'm the only user of my laptop and don't need to create a user account but I did to see if I can create a password. But I got the same message again for the user account.
i want to creat new user in AD ,but this message appear: password doesn't meet password policy, before i change some policies but now they are not defiend
I have my Gmail synced to Outlook (MS Office Professional 2010), however I was wondering if there is a way so I can set a password on Outlook so all of my emails cannot be accessed by simply clicking on the Outlook icon on my desktop.
Brother gave me his computer and removed all of his user data, when I try to log on to internet, being asked for user name and password. How to I either change or establish or create user name and password.
p.s. no start up disk, Hewlett Packard, with Windows 7.
I'm trying to learn a little about how Win 7 works...so I'm starting from scratch, so-to-speak.What I've done thus far & what info I am seeking:I've looked at all the tutorials I can find here on the BC site and even tried typing a query in the search box, but have been unable to find any instructions which explain how to create a password for the Windows 7 default Administrator account (or even a separately-created Administrator account).(The tutorials I have already reviewed indicate the Win 7 default Administrator account is by default...disabled (on a new computer, I'm guessing), and after going through the multi-step process of enabling the Admin account, it is recommended the user secure the account with a strong password).
I need to access my router's (Cisco E3000) configuration utility, but of course, that requires entering a username and password, which I guess that I must have used something even unusual to me, because now it won't accept anything that I can think of. How do I discard the current username and password, and create new ones?
Ive bought A lenovo g580(?) with 7 pre installed. There is four partitions preinstalled on the hdd. I've understod that You can not delete any of these, in order to keep the recovery system working. Four partitions is the Max number of such.Is it possible to Get an extra data partition? If not, should i store my user data on c? What if win7 crashes, then i Will loose everything on c
I can't seem to create the needed files as instructed from SF Diagnostics Tool. Every time I press a button, an Unhandled exception, could not find file C:XXX.txt, always occurs except for the "System Information" button. I tried searching but could not find any similar problem encountered from the tool.

I have Win 7 64 bit installed on my laptop as well as my desktop. System images for both are on external HD's.
On the laptop, I have created a system image on blank DVD's using DVD-R's. No problems -- I can restore from the DVD's.
However, when I try to create a system image on blank DVD-R's on my desktop, I get a message saying something like, "format was unsuccessful." If I use a DVD+RW the process runs to completion and I can restore from it. I had to use RW's because I don't have and +R's.
I get the same unsuccessful message if I try to format a blank DVD-R with Win 7.
My DVD burner on the desktop says it is a +R. Does that mean I can't use -R's.
I've no idea whether this is a Win 7 problem, burner problem or a problem on my part.
Would someone please try to straighten out the dense old mind?
I have searched high and low for a solution to this problem. I am running Windows 7. This error pops up in a window titled "fatal error" - "Unable to create an instance of required object". It happens in Firefox (14.0.1) and Word (Office 2010) usually when I'm trying to save or download a file. It then crashes the program and sometimes my entire computer.I've found tons of old references to problems relating to Allaire Homesite, but the page that windows support sends you to a Macromedia page that no longer exists as they were purchased by Adobe. At one point in the last year, I had started to install Homesite 5 but wasn't successful as I could not find my serial number. But that was long ago and this error just started happening now.

I'm doing a fresh install on windows 7, instead of a disk it's on a thumb drive I have a 500 GB Partition I want to install windows toI went through setup and formatted the disk when I try to continue with the installation and get this error.
I built a new pc and i want to put windows 7 pro on it. When i try to install i got the message "setup unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing one". How do I fix this?
This is a fresh Windows 7 install on a 500GB HDD (previously used under XP) In the BIOS the Storage is configured as: Raid. Obviously I have the right raid ICH10R drivers from Asus (they are on a USB drive) Installation starts, Windows sees the disk, I specify the drivers, BUT when I click Next, I get: Setup was unable to create a new system partition. I can delete the partition, create a new one, format it, BUT when I click Next, I get: Setup was unable to create a new system partition. I used Gparted to delete the partition, and tried again - I used Seagate tools to zero the disk (sort of low level format) - If I try to install on a brand new 1TB HDD following the same steps, it installs fine... Both drives are Sata II and I used the same Sata port (only one disk at a time)
while installing windows 7 from the installation DVD, everything works fine till the screen where it asks me to select the partition on which i would like to install Windows. When I select Partition 4 and click Next it gives me an error saying "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more information". I have only one HDD and no external USB's or drives attached to my CPU.
Yesterday i want to install windows 7 on my laptop but when i format Local disk C and click next it says setup was unable to create a new system partition.I boot through Pen Drive. I dont have a dvd rw(not working) and i have Data on other drives[/COLOR]...without wiping data and with wiping data.
I have a External PVR unit that is connected to our home Theatre system and we watch downloaded movies that are stored on it's hard-drive.. This box is also connected via UPNP and I can see ALL Drives attached to my laptop which is located upstairs in the study...I was able to, from the computer, map this drive (N Drive) and was able to copy the movies files directly to the hard-drive of the PVR.Until recently, I was able to create new folders on the PVR hard-drive and then copy the files, but am no longer able to do so as I keep getting an error msg stating:"Could not create new file N:Moviesxxxxxx. The system cannot find the file specified"I can however copy the movie files or any other files directly to the hard-drive (ANY FOLDER).. Just cannot create any new folders!!!! Which I was able to do previously.?
P.S. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x32 on a Toshiba Satellite Pro P300
I have changed computer from an old XP to a new Windows 7. I am trying to install an old copy of Corel draw 11. I get the error 1608: Unablwe to create InstallDriver instance.
I having problem trying to load one particular software whichThe Movies. Since it is a lod software that normal works on XP system, I had to right click and click on open. Then I click on the set-up icon and it will try to load and then it will display 1647 unable to create install driver instance return code 21473125.
So i'm trying to do a clean install on windows 7, i've tried to format and then do the install but it still says setup was unable to create a new system partition
I bought a 3TB hard drive for my gf and did a fresh install of Windows 7. When I was creating the first partition the Win7 install auto created two more volumes, both labeled as Unalloated. I thought nothing of it as I figured I would be able to merge/create my second partion with the remaining space once Windows was up and running. However, to my dimay I can not create a partition on one of those random Unallocated volumes. I've tried to delete all partition but the one that my OS is running on and I've tried to create two then merger but when I right-click on the second (first one works) volume the option t create a simple volume is greyed out.
