I can not transfer files from my laptop to pendrive, when I am copying the message is - "you have to take permission from administrator". What can I do?????

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2 desktop computers and one laptop on a network, all three are also part of a Homegroup. When I try to copy files from the main Admin PC to the laptop it slows down to less than 15KB/s. I thought perhaps it was the wifi reception but even when connected with Ethernet it's still terribly slow to the point that a 300MB folder takes 2 hours (estimated time). I end up cancelling the transfer sand sometimes windows explorer ends up crashing. However when I copy files from the second desktop to laptop it is normal speed. No lag, no glitch. All the files I tried to copy where share, available to Everyone. Everything else works fine, streaming video and music from the main admin PC is flawless, I just can't seem too transfer files from the main Admin PC to the laptop.

It has no value and is completely usless but when I delete it it says I need permission from turbow5 to delete this. But I am turbow5. I am the admin and the only user on this comp. So I look into the permission thing and system, turbow5, and admin all have full permission of this file. Why can't I delete this folder?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just recently re-installed Windows 7 Ultimate, and I'm having that damn security issue "Destination Folder Access Denied" "You'll need to provide administrator permission to copy to this folder" and unable to save text files. I've been going at this for hours and hours, I can't find a fix I've tried editing Properties > Security > Advanced Permissions and Ownerships, don't work. I've tried the "Take Ownership" command. Still doesn't work. I've been through a few re-installs because I've just been hammering out as much as I can do.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have administrator rights on my Windows 7 account, and I always have problems installing programs. Usually it is with a folder called config.msi. I don't have write permission for that folder and when I install anything I get multiple error messages about it.I have been unable to install the latest Itunes, and I tried to install it manually. Everything went fine, except for the usuall config.msi errors, until the final part of the install. It said it did not have permission to access the itunes folder in program files. I looked at the properties of the folder, and I did not have write permission. The Itunes installer undid the entire install and deleted the itunes folder.When I go to the program files folder, I do not have write access to it, and I cannot change it. I followed the instructions in this forum to enable the administrator account, and could not get write access to that folder from administrator either.The error messages I get look like there is another account out there that is a superuser. Is there any cure for this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used XP Transfer Wizard to store my files (over 200GB) on external hard drive. Now I have Windows 7 machine and can't use them directly.I tried to use Virtual PC XP mode to import files but Virtual PC can only handle something around 136 GB virtual hard disk, so after 6 hours of transfer it stopped... I don't have the XP machine anymore - I'm stuck with Windows 7 and can't figure out how to move these files over..Is there a way to actually open all these Wizard IMGXXXXX.dat files and read them?
