This morning my new computer notified me it had downloaded an update and rebooted. When I plugged in my tablet, the computer notified me that my device was USB 2.0 and and could run faster if I plugged it into a USB 2.0 port. Trouble is, I had used this port many times in the past as a 2.0 port, no problem. I confirmed the slower rate by trying to transfer my podcasts over to the tablet like I normally do.The ports in question are the ones on my front panel. I plugged the tablet into one of the rear ports that are mounted directly on the MB and got 2.0 speed no problem. On a whim, I plugged my wireless mouse/keyboard receiver into one of the front ports. It worked, but would be intermittently choppy. I tried downloading the latest MB drivers from Gigabyte, and that didn't seem to help. I saw that there was a problem similar to this for some win7 users about a year ago that supposedly got fixed. I checked and the fix has already been applied.
I have a Toshiba Tecra A10 running on a Win7 operating system.It suddenly crashed and now starts up with a blank screen and a blinking dash and wont go anywhere from there.
Ran F12 to regain Operating system - long version. Says computer passes everything but there's no operating system found. Did this Twice. Tried "Operating System" CD that came w/ Studio 17 laptop. Hit option to run via CD & never got anywhere after an hour. Tried Reinstall Hardware disk that came w/ laptop. It shows Vista, but laptop came w/ Windows 7. See where it shows the system's checking things out, but never get anywhere.
Have had no problem in the past till the last few months. Doesn't mater which program I us, windows DVD burner, just putting in a DVD and waiting for the burn window or using a 3 party software. Will not burn DVD's. I'm not getting any error code just window that states the mpeg 2 is missing. I have downloaded the windows codec 7 and k lite full with not luck. Any ideas for the next step?
I've got a WD 1TB NTFS harddisk When i turn on suddenly it became inaccessible The before i turn off my PC it's still ok and also i can still copy the content to another HDD And the problem comes when i turn it on Before it i delete some unknown files that just keep coming Got "MS***.tmp" files, not just one but in multiples and before this I always delete it and it still ok But now it became inaccessible?
I've been running Windows 7 and connecting to my wireless router for a few months with absolutely no problems at all. Suddenly a couple of days ago the wireless stopped working and it can't see any connections. There used to be a few it could see, but now not even one! I know the router is ok because I can access it wirelessly with my iPhone. I also know the hardware is ok on the laptop because I swapped the hard drive with an old XP one and the wireless worked perfectly.
Today i did a system recovery and reformat my pc. I notice anytime i am watching videos or playing games the audio is surprisingly low all of a sudden. Before when my volume level was at 1 or 2 it plays really loud and clear now i have to turn it up all the way to 18- 26, I am using external speakers i dont know what the problem could be any ideas?
My laptop just went off suddenly, as if the battery had just run down, but it was the same after plugging it in and charging it. The screen is off and the only LED lit is the power one.
I've got a 128gb SSD as my primary but it's suddenly looking a little full. I THINK it happened after I tried to use the windows back up...which didn't complete itself anyway. The HDD reads a max capacity of 111GB with 39GB free. If I select all the folders (I have the hidden ones showing) the total size according to the windows properties window is 67.2 GB. The windows folder (not including program files) shows 37 gb when I select it.
actualy i replaced my os which used to be windows xp with windows 2007 ,since then my monitor gets turned off suddenly but the remaining system is still on, and i have to restart my whole system.
laptop, lenovo s10-3s running on windows 7. All of a sudden she cant start or booth it up. Message says "windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause." I ask her if she installed some software or connected something before it happened, and she said she didnt do anything and last night it was just functioning fine. We tried restart and press F8, booth in the safe mode,safe mode w/ networking. But it still failed to start.
What I think to have caused the problem is in this previous threadnyway, after doing that last fix and booting the computer the next day, I got an error saying I may be a victim of software counterfitting, followed by a black wallpaper with a not genuine message at the bottom right. I need to get it working again so I can get updates, and I've lost my Windows 7 Home Premium key which makes this all the more difficult to fix with normal tech support from Microsoft
I built this PC myself. It was built around 5 months ago. I installed Windows 7, and it said it was perfectly genuine and everything. I bought this on eBay from a person with 99% Positive feedback and with 2300 stars, so I'm sure it isn't pirated. Now randomly I have a black wallpaper and in the bottom right corner it says Windows 7, Build 7601, This copy of Windows is not genuine. I've scanned the computer fully for viruses with AVG and Malware with Malwarebytes, and found no problems. [code]
My system all of a sudden got slower than honey in Dec. to put it nice. When I go to task manage I see "system idle process" usage at 60 - 100%. Looked system idle process up and this is the explanation I got: When opening Windows Task Manager you may notice that the "System Idle Process" is high and be concerned about something using your system resources. When a computer or a processor within the computer is idle it will have a high System Idle process in the CPU column, often in the 50's to 90's. This is completely normal for a computer as it waits for something to do. But this has been going on forever I would guess, why is it slowing my system down now and it never did before? it's so slow Xmarks normal take 15 to 30 sec. to sync. I stopped it at 2 min. As I am typing this ...I type 5 to 10 letters and everything freezes for 5 sec. then it fills in and freezes, then 5 sec. later I can type some more.

I have a HP I purchased at a store just over a year ago.I am running Windows 7 64bit. [code] I have some games (Spore, Sid Meier's Railroads) that worked great on this machine after I got it. The machine more then meets the specs. I could play for as long as I want and have no issues. Now I open either game and after about 5-10 minutes it is like the machine is overwhelmed with process. My CPU usage and ram goes up to 100% and everything is slow. When I click on a button to get a menu it takes 3-5 seconds for the menu to come up and then another 3-5 seconds for the mouse to move to the menu so I can select an option. So far I have made sure all my drivers are current, I have cleaned the registry with 2 different cleaners, I have removed all unnecessary programs from starting, I have tracked down process I determined to be non-essential and made sure those don't run, I have tweaked Windows to use less recourse (I should not need to do this now), I have removed unneeded programs, I have defragged, I have cleaned unneeded files, I have run Microsoft malware scanner (forget the name, no problems found), I have run Kaspersky 2011 in a deep scan and a critical area scan (nothing found), I even got one of those Speed Up My PC programs (I know garbage program) because I am so frustrated but that didn't do anything. I don't want to F disk it because I have too much data I need to keep.
got a tosh c650 laptop and just tried putting a cruser blade 16gb stick into one of its 2 usb ports.Now both ports dont do anything .Tried deleting all drivere and re installing (inc safe mode) but no joy...Have I damaged the MB?
My Windows 7 PC won't boot. There have been no software or hardware changes (potentially a windows update was applied that I don't know about, shutdown one night, all OK and then couldn't boot up the next morning). I get the windows 7 logo, then a black screen with mouse cursor, but I can't move the cursor. There's no keyboard response either (I don't think this is the infamous black screen of death as this typically still responds to a CTRL+ALT+DEL?). Safe Mode is no different apart from seeing drivers load, it stops at CLASSPNP before pausing for a while and then the black screen.
Managed to run the startup recovery tool, although I only get this option sometimes when trying to boot. It scans but can't auto fix the problem but reports a corrupt registry (I don't believe this is the problem though).
I removed my boot drive (which is an OCZ SSD) and mounted as a secondary drive in another PC so I could browse files on that drive. So I managed to restore my registry files from the windows backup files (windowssystem32config egback), then replaced my SSD in my PC, but still no boot (which is why I don't believe it's a reg problem). I swapped out the SSD to my other PC again, this time I ran a chkdsk on my SSD, it found some small problem, nothing major so I fixed it successfully and swaped back to my original PC again, but still no change, still not booting. I swapped it out again, this time I had a look at ntbtlog.txt, it shows lots of inf's not loading (CLASSPNP being the last one to load.
I have a Lacie 250GB firewire external HD (couple of years old) which I use as a backup device. It's only used (switched on) about once a month.Everything has been fine until yesterday. When I switch it on, the light comes on and it whirrs into action as usual, but, rather unusually, Windows 7 (32bit) starts looking for a driver and then says, "Device driver software was not successfully installed". The HD, unsurprisingly, doesn't show in "My Computer" but does show in "Device Manager".I have uninstalled and reinstalled the HD, but still no joy.I have a separate 64bit partition (used exclusively for music) on the PC which does recognise the HD, so all is not lost, and leads me to think that the HD or cable is not the problem.

I'm working with an Acer 9920 Laptop, with win 7 u installed. Until quite recently everything worked well. But now I have problems. For instance I want to install some software by doubleclicking on the msi file I see in Windows Explorer. After entering Admin credentials I get a message that the file I'm just seeing in WE cannot be found.Similarly, when I want to edit extended system properties, C: Windows system 32systempropertiesadvanced.exe cannot be found.Something apparently related is that when I want to start Eclipse which is a Java app the system fails telling me that no client JVM at xxx can be found.When I log in as an admin everything seems to work right.
I bought Win 7 Ultimate for 2 installs over a year ago. I bought an Asus Laptop a year ago which came win the 7 Home and upgraded to Ultimate with no problems at all. 3 months ago I bought a Dell with 7 Home and upgraded it to Ultimate. Again no problems! About a week ago I started getting multiple error message on the Asus stating that my Windows 7 was NOT valid. Now today I am getting the same messages on the Dell. Not able to get help from Microsoft which keeps insisting that these operating systems are invalid. Two huge questions: IF this is actually the case why would it be such a very long time before getting these error messages, Also, what are the options now I am being told there are 30 days remaining before the OS on both systems locks up?
i have installed 2 case fans to have to air flow. and when i booted the pc couple of mins later, it suddenly turns off. i unplug both of the case fans and did the same thing.
Sometimes when I power-up my pc everything goes on (fans, HDDs, MOBO..) 2-3 sec later it shuts (won't even get to the bios boot screen) then few seconds later it will turn itself on and stay on (log into windows..)
Using my PC as normal when I noticed I was unable to click anything. Everything was still working normally, hadn't crashed or stalled or anything and items still changed colour or whatever when I hovered over them, but clicking did nothing. Thought rebooting would fix it but no change at all.

i have windows 7 ultimate x64, few days back it suddenly became very slow. it takes about 3 mins to show desktop after logging in. then another 3-4 mins before i can use the machine . then also it works very slowly.
Last night after some modem problems which may be coincidental Windows 7 PRO (OEM) suddenly de-activated. It now will not re-activate either by the normal method or by telephone. No hardware has been changed and to my knowledge no new software was installed although some of course may have been updated. I was simply attempting to browse the web. My friend's laptop (ASUS G72GX) won't boot into Windows 7. Specs:Windows 7 x64 Home PremiumIntel Core 2 Duo P87006 GB RAMNVIDIA GeForce GTX 260MHe said it worked fine in his room and then he brought it downstairs (I'm assuming he did a hard power off by pressing the power button) and that's when it stopped working. Here are some things it does:After pressing the power button, the ASUS logo will appear (this happens during POST) and then the screen goes and stays blank.-Sometimes, it gets to a screen that gives the option of starting Windows normally or running Startup Repair.-Startup Repair hangs at random places (progress bar fills fast and ten completely stops).-If the option to start Windows normally is chosen, it eitherhangs at the 'Starting Windows' screen (Windows 7 logo does not animate) or flashes a blue screen that is much too quick to read (just a fraction of a second) and then the laptop restarts.
I can get into the BIOS options and everything seems normal, including temps (though I'm not sure how high they were when the problem started). However, upon exiting the options, the problems above proceed as normal.I also tried hitting both F8 and F12 during boot, but can't get to the screen that would let me start in Safe Mode since it hangs at the Starting Windows screen.I'm kind of at a loss here. My friend's not exactly careful with his laptop, but this is the first time I've seen a computer refuse to boot like this.
