I have been trying to download update to my TomTom Home software (for my satnav.). I get a message stating "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation". I don't understand this: I am the administrator, I've had no problems with other downloads or updates. I tried removing the original software and re-installing but the same message appears when I try to remove it.
So Windows 8 is about to launch, yet Windows 7 64bit still won't work with my TomTom bluetooth GPS receiver! Surely TomTom or Microsoft could have come up with something by now!
I use iTunes because I have an ipod touch, iTunes wants me to update it before i will sync my ipod touch. It won't update it tells me to download only the update threw the software, I've done a google search and no one that posted a fix had one that worked, i've have this issue before and i tried to uninstall and reinstall itune and nothing worked.

Internet works so far. can not download with firefox because when i click on a link it keeps loadingindeffinitely, and then clicking on mirror doesn't do anything. i can download with ie. seems as if my internet connection is really slow, though troubleshoot doesnlt find any problems.i think i might have a virus. i used system recovery to a couple of days ago but problem remains. i have an asus laptop with windows 7 home premium, sp1

My net ain't that stable and fast I really need the service pack so I can install IE10 preview.
wmplayer is built into my Windows 7-64 Pro. If I have reason to suspect that functionality issues may be due to a possible corruption of Media Player, what must I do to force an update?
brief, I have a PC that runs Windows 7 (obviously) and I'd like to choose when to automatically download updates rather than having to download them by myself. But I'm finding no option for that, all I can find as settings in Windows update are :Install updates automatically. (Which means they're gonna be downloaded at anytime and I don't want this to happen.)Download updates but let me choose when to install them. (Same here)Check for updates but let me choose whether to download or install them. (Here, I will have to download them manually by hitting download)
2 days of searching google, its various articles, forums, sites.. but none of them apply.Issue: Error Code 800B0100 when trying to install Windows Update KB2556532.I've got no idea what to do at this point, even downloading this "tool" the help file suggestsdoesn't fix anything, I couldn't download it at first, it froze 3 other computers in the processan somehow I eventually got it but as I launched it I soon learned it'd freeze at thelast 5-25% of the progress bar aka "HANGS" the whole system.Along my journey I learned that any virus scanners & firewalls HAD to be disabled to have anyhope of getting this far, but now.. it's just at 'that" point.
Win 7 64 bit home prem. (not my idea to get this os, i hate it thus far) sp1 with seeminglyevery update but this ONE.I don't have a windows disc for this, its got that stupid "windows disc saved to a partition"crap that I hate as I'm sure many others do too.Zone Alarm & Avast but those get disabled so I don't think thats going to matter to ya'll.I can't think of anything else that'd get in the way, oh an the "trustedinstaller" thingy isenabled an running so.. ya.Hope someone else can solve this, it's a brand new laptop, never "upgraded from anyprevious windows-whatever".
I've had to disable automatic updates as this one and KB2518870 don't install and the PC keeps trying to download them every day! When I go into control panel it tells me that I have MS.NET Framework 4 Client Profile. But cannot uninstall it. When I go to the "turn windows feature on/off" option it says I have MS.NET Framework 3.5.1
I've tried reloading version 4 from the MS website but it tells me I already have version 4 (or the download is being blocked). I've tried a clean boot - doesn't help. I've tried turning off Norton - doesn't help. Error code is 66A (unknown error).
I'm running Windows 7 Home premium on a Dell Studio One. Problems with these downloads seem to be quite common.
This Microsoft update repeatedly fails on my automatic updates. I try to do it manually, still no luck.: Security Update for Microsoft Works 9 (KB2754670)
Finally, my Outlook also doesn't work. I get the following error message:Task email address - Receiving' reported error (0x80040900) : 'The server name you entered cannot be found on the network (it might be down temporarily). Verify that you are online and that the server name is correct.'
Windows update could not search for downloads. Encountered error code 80070005. Norton 2012 security installed. Tried there support for help and they said it was not a problem from Norton.
Quote: A very punctual Mozilla is set to launch the latest version of its browser on January 31, 2012 as per plan. The new version is a traditional Firefox silent update infused with all the desired components, particularly the disabling of incompatible add-ons and advancement of the compatible ones. Add-ons from Firefox 4 or later will be compatible with Firefox 10. Read More at : Firefox 10 Download Available. Silent Update In The Package. - CrazyEngineers Download Firefox 10
I'm also running Windows 7, 64 bit. I am unable to update or download any software from websites. I am however able to download torrents! I just ran avast and have run malwarebytes and AVG and all have reported and removed affected files. But I still have the same problem. For example, I try to download the new adobe flash from the adobe site, I then hit run when prompted. It then gets stuck at retrieving the file until the error appears: "Installation encountered errors Actionlist not found".
I try to update malwarebyes and receive: "An error has occurred. Please report this issue to our support team (include the content of all error message(s) and code(s) in your submission). PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING (0,0, Host not found).
I recently bought an Acer Revo AL100 and it was able to play all of the BluRay discs that I asked it to. I borrowed a copy from a mate and the Revo is able to detect that there is a disc in the drive, it chugs away for a couple of minutes and then I get a message that it was unable to download a BD-Live Update. Once I get this message the disc stops spinning and I don't get to watch my movie.
I get more or less the same results using the clear.fi application that came pre-installed, WinDVD Pro 11, PowerDVD 12 and Total Media Theatre 5 so I'm thinking that it's an issue with the hardware. The drive is a MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ141AL and I've been unable to find firmware updates for it anywhere. Is there anything else I can try short of trying to swap the drive for a different?
Dozens of Windows 7 Updates failed when I took the recommended. I think it's because they were for 64 bit and I have 32 bit. Now, everytime I shut dow, it takes ages because it tries to install those updates. Then when I eboot, it reads Failure configuring, revertin changes - and bingo, the laptop shuts down
I am working on my daughter's Presario CQ 56-115DX Notebook running Windows 7. It has been running erratically and has a lot of junk on it and no anti virus. I have tried to install several free antivirus programs and also a Revo Uninstaller with both IE, Chrome and Firefox. All Downloads are blocked (or automatically "cancelled") including your TSG SysInfo. I turned off the Firewall but that didn't help. I also did a System Recovery back to 1-30-2013 to no avail.
Recently, my Vuze, Moyea FLV downloader, and Amazon Unbox (just installed today) are unable to connect to the internet. I can't even complete the Unbox install because I get an error message every time I try to complete the setup. I've gone through my firewall and added allowances, tweaked settings, everything -- I even turned it off to see if the Unbox install would finish properly. It didn't. I still got the error message telling me that it couldn't connect to the internet. Did I break something in my logs? What's happened, here? Trillian and things like that work fine, it's just these certain programs.
When I try to run certain programs like Anki or Second Life that need access to the internet they're blocked with no message from windows, I've tried deactivating windows firewall and other security programs but I always get the same thing. I've tried creating rules for windows firewall that allow my programs to access the internet but it makes no difference. I know it's not my router or ISP because other computers in my house that use the same connection work fine.
Yet again my Windows 7, 64 bit program has preventing me opening an attachment sent to me from a trusted source, on the basis that it could be ANNPATpotentially harmful. Can I override this blockage?
Hope posted in correct area. The other day I FTP pc backup files to hosting account. Now IE 9, Firefox and Chrome do not work but IE9 (64-bit) and Maxthon Cloud do. No malware and have internet connection. Filezilla comes up
Connection attempt failed with "EAI_FAIL - Nonrecoverable failure in name resolution".
