View 3 RepliesSo today I decided to record some gameplay with fraps, but once I was done recording a message popped up saying:
"The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
I've looked this error up, I have reinstalled the C++ redistributable packages, and it does not work. Basically whenever I am finished recording a fraps video, or even if I navigate (via Windows Explorer) to the directory in which the video files are located, I will get this error. As well as playing or moving the files. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a newer version of fraps, but still, no go.
i have been using cucusoft Internet mate for a long time and suddenly today i get this message:runtime error "this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way"i'm not very computer smart and i don't understand why this has suddenly happened and what i can do to fix it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142) Click on OK to terminate the application. The only option is to click ok. I am deathly afraid to turn off my computer because my brother recently did and that caused it to freeze at the blue HP startup screen, but thats another thread. I get this error whenever I launch anything. I can't even open up the task manager. I really need help. I don't currently have a way to back up my stuff either but I am working on it. By the way, I don't know that my brother was having the same error message as i was or if he was having any error messages. I use zone alarm full security suite if that helps at all, I don't know if it deleted a registry file or something.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I search using Windows Explorer, after approx. 30 seconds, I get the following error: "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."Would anyone know why I am getting this error and where would be a good place to start to correct it?I did a clean boot even excluding windows programs and the problem was still there. I have installed all the latest Windows 7 updates. I also tried sfc /scannow and I turned off MS security software and firewall all to no avail. Is there anything else I can try? Would there be some type of log file somewhere that would tell me what is causing the problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been getting notification bars on startup stating that there is a Visual C++ Runtime error, and that the program has been terminated in an unusual manner. What I want to know is whether this can be attributed to a possible memory (RAM) problem. Also, since of late (not all the time). when I boot my PC, and when the Welcome screen appears, a ticking noise comes from in my CPU and the screen just freezes. Can there be a possible connection between the two (memory and the C++ Runtime error).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been receiving a runtime error for over a week (see below) in IE8 when atempting to go to a specific webpage. At first glance, it looked like a server issue (mine) or a website "down" problem. After searching the web, I could not find a solution for this specific runtime error. There was a bunch of misinformation posted in other forums! The solution was so simple.... I cleaned out all cookies with CCleaner and the page was available.....This error does not show on a "pop-up" like the Microsoft samples. Thus, Microsoft was no help to me in this instance.
Error:
Server Error in '/' Application.
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

I have a Dell Inspiron 560 and Windows 7; previously I had a Dell 5 years old and Windows XP. I am trying to access a website I have used previously with success but now am receiving error msg: Server Error in '/' Application, Runtime Error. I was able to access this website on my old system.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 4 computers (3PCs and 1Laptop) on a home network (not a homegroup). All are connected to the same workgroup. All share the same internet connection. Up until last week, all of them had absolutely no issue sharing files or using the printer. Now however, my laptop will not connect to one of the PCs and that's the PC that is connected to our printer. Both the laptop and the printerPC are running the same version of Win 7 (Home Premium). The problem is connecting from the laptop to the printerPC I keep being asked for a "network password." I have file and printer sharing enabled and password protection disabled. Firewall and anti-virus are off. The strangest part is that my printerPC can access my laptop without passwords yet my laptop cannot access my printerPC without one and I've never even set up a login/password for network sharing to begin with so I don't really understand why this is happening or what's causing this because as I said earlier this wasn't a problem up until a week ago.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried to install Plex Server which during install called for Bonjour to be installed. When I accepted it tried to install Bonjour but failed. I have no idea why. I then tried to install the newest Version of I tunes because I thought it comes with Bonjour. Now Itunes fails with "the installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured"I have tried to clear out the %Appdata% Temp directory and searched the registry for Apple and Bonjour and couldn't find any entries. When I look at the error Log that is created by the iTunes installer it says it errored out because of Installer Error 1618 which obviously means "Another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install". Does anyone know how I could find that installer process and terminate it so I could install Bonjour or Itunes. I am out of luck of finding anything on the web.

View 14 Replies View RelatedSince installing Windows 7 (64) on a fresh new HD my computer's been waking itself up from sleep mode fairly often (every hour or two, maybe). I've gone through all the other threads on this subject and tried most of the fixes I found (disallowing Ethernet wake-ups e.g.) to no avail. What's particularly disconcerting about these wake-ups is they produce a strange 'clunk' sound and my power LED flashes. The cmd window tells me my keyboard is the device waking the machine up but I don't know if I believe it.
Does anyone have any inkling as to what this might be? I'm suspicious of my floppy drive (yeah, I know) as it makes similar sounding grumblings on start-up.
My computer fails to sleep when asked, it re-awakens immediately or shortly afterwards.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am really trying to get used to Windows 7 and it is getting better.I have a dual boot which works well.I have several installs of XP of various editions.I use Acronis True Image a lot to make images. I use only the one Windows 7 but several Acronis True Images of various XP's Corporate, Home, etc.I have the one XP that I then installed Seven and this is the dual boot.I sure don't want to go about the dual boot by re-installing Seven with all the others. What I thought is to restore an XP image, then putting the what makes the dual boot files in and saving that as an image. Then on to the next XP image.I have read up on dual boot software but I need something very simple. And if I ever need to restore an image - either XP or Seven I need to know that it will still dual boot.

On my laptop (not the desktop described in my profile) I get the following message when viewing any one of the videos using IE9(32 bit) on this website: ABCNews.com - Breaking News, Latest News & Top Video News - ABC News.
Error Saving Localized Settings Application is unable to access your file system
The videos play fine once I clear the message box by pressing OK. The problem does not occur on my desktop and I notice no difference in the two setups. Nor does it occur under Firefox on either machine.
On bootup on my Win 7 64-bit desktop nothing appeared on the monitor , just a completely black screen .I realise this could be due to several causes - monitor failure , video card problems etc and I have yet to check these out but my reason for posting here before I do these basic checks is that this problem is accompanied by an unusual response to the Power button which did not exist before as far as I am aware. When I got this black screen I pressed the power button to switch the PC off . normally this requires you to hold this button down for about 5-10 secs . This time when I did this the PC started to power up again and , to prevent this , I now have to hold this button down for , at least 30 secs or so , before the PC stays off.Could this power button anomaly be related to this black screen?

View 5 Replies View RelatedOur office has an old program that we still need to use when upgrading our PC's to Windows 7. The program will run fine if you start a windows virtual PC and install and run it. However, based on the needs of our office, I need to be able to run Windows XP mode and simply have an icon for our users to click to take them to the application. If I install the program in windows XP mode, and then add a shortcut to the file under all users/start menu, a shortcut is placed in the appropriate place on the windows 7 machine and I can copy that shortcut ot the desktop. The program runs fine until you restart the computer. Once you restart the computer and double click the link on the windows 7 desktop to the program running in windows XP mode, it says:
Cannot start virtual application. The application is blocked from running as a virtual application.
I read some other posts saying to put a new shortcut in the all users/start menu folder. This works, but only until our users restart their computer. The next time the computer is up, the problem happens again. This is not an acceptable solution to have to create a new shortcut for each workstation each time the computer is restarted.
The error states:explorer.exe - application error The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application. When I click OK, i just have a black screen. I can get the task manager going by hitting control, alt, delete. I've tried to start explorer.exe from the file menu, but get the same error.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering if it is possible to reverse engineer a 32-bit application and recompile it as a 64-bit application. If so, would it still function?I don't know if talking about reverse engineering is acceptable in this forum or not. If not, my apologies. Also, I don't exactly know how "legal" it is or if it's against any EULAs.I'm a heavy browser user. I use Firefox Nightly and constantly have several tabs open. I also run several different applications at once and occasionally Skype. I'm CONSTANTLY hitting the 32-bit barrier for RAM (can't remember if it's 3.1, 3.2 or 3.3 GB) and I still have more RAM on my system. I'm thinking the video quality on Skype starts going south when I run low/out on addressable memory since it's a 32-bit application
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 7. After "exactly 60 seconds", when I search using Windows Explorer search box, I get the following message: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."How do I change search settings so that it will not terminate after 60 seconds? To correct this problem I have tried the following. I did a clean boot even excluding windows programs and the problem was still there. I have installed all the latest Windows 7 updates. I also tried sfc /scannow and I turned off MS security software and firewall all to no avail.
