Syskey Settings For Log On Not Boot Up

not sure if i should post here this is my first post long time reader. But anyway i started using the syskey option in windows as in the last month 3 laptop have been stolen and 7 have been messed with at my training school, however recently i have noticed what i think to be a problem. The syskey option is good for PC boot up but after that windows never asks for it agen. is there any way to make windows read the syskey whenever i need to log on.

I cant seem to find the boot file in windows 7 build 7600,
i'm dual booting, when I installed 7, 7 was C: and vista became drive d:
but i have storage hard drive which is always drive d, so I made vista drive f
so how can I fix the boot file in 7 to change the drive letter for vista install?

I used MSconfig to set my computer to always boot in safe mode, but booting in safe mode results in a BSOD. Now I have no way of accessing MSconfig to change it back.
I have a puppy linux live cd that I am using to view my windows files, but I don't know what to edit since windows doesn't use a boot.ini file.

I have an HP pavilion laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium X64 - new install. The laptop has begun hanging with a black screen upon my request for it to shutdown, restart, boot, or anytime i attempt to run something which causes the windows 7 are you sure you want to allow changes to the computer message box. The only change made before this happened was a windows update. The problem started a few starts after this install. I have searched but most issues address a black screen with a completely unresponsive computer. Mine comes out of it within a minute or so.

Now, just 3 days ago It started the BSOD issue.I realize that my GPU was the cause of this issue. When playing games or open 3d applications the temp goes 30C to 72C (In 15 seconds) then 82C - 85C constant (in about 30 seconds).Now I've been using MSI afterburner to check my temps and at fulload my GPU will be at 62-72C max temperature but now it's 10C even higher then before. No, I haven't fiddled with the voltage I set the GPU voltage to 1.037v which is the safest (been running this almost 8 months!). The GPU is the GTX 560ti.Is there a way to set the GPU on default settings or reset GPU settings in cmd or other professional way. I have uninstalled the drivers, uninstalling GPU, disabled GPU, disabled PCI-E slot and so on by using device manager and the issue still persist. Yes, I also have clean the GPU perfectly and still the temperature goes up to 82 seconds at 30seconds-45seconds. Yes, I have checked everything is set correctly and so on, I am a PC Tech.
Is the GPU damaged? Yes I have looked at this thread: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Mainly, I know its the GPU straight away, I tried checking old drivers, new drivers, another GPU overclocked software such as GPU tweak and EVGA Precision. I am thinking it's the GPU is damaged or the PCI-E is damaged (I have another PCI-E slot on my system and the issue still there). It might be the PCI-E frequency? but it's set to 100 which it meant to be, I just hope is software related because I don't have the money to buy a new card. Did the dump files help?

I am having a problem starting my PC! I have to start it in the boot menu under the RAID option. If I do not do this a message saying "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.." comes up, and just keeps popping up regardless of what I press! I would try using my boot disk but for the life of me I can't find it, and as windows 7 was already installed on this computer when we got it 3 year ago, I can't accurately recall if it came with one!I am no expert on BIOS, but I have read other problems similar to this one, and know that if I don't have the boot disk or the OS disk, I will need to know that at least.I am curious if the (Hard drive) is the issue. The BIOS tells me that anything in parentheses is disabled from corresponding type menu.

I recently received a new laptop. After starting after time with no problems I received a blue screen with Verticle black stripes then it shut off. After attempting to reboot it I receive this error in a black DOS like screen.

How can I restore win 7 to factory settings. I have a repair disk, this seems to do nothing. Restore works, but nothing changes(Ugly Virus, I have tried everything, nothing will install) I just want to start over. It is a sony vaio, I dont have an image backup. Can I just reformat or something?? How? I can get it to rec console and choose version of windows, then asks for img disk or restore. Again, restore wont work or go back far enough to do anything.

I sign into an emulator for work and have to use my F keys a lot.I hate having to hold down the FN key at the bottom of the keyboard just to use my keys. Does anyone know how to turn off the settings of the F keys and use them as they are mapped on my emulator? My laptop is an HP Pavilion dv6

Installed Windows 7 over Vista with no trouble except when Windows starts a window titled "Desktop Gadgets" pops up with the following message:"Settings.ini is being used by another process. Close the other program...."The above results in having no sidebar or gadgets, and I have no idea what the other process might be in order to close it.

today i installed GTA IV on my pc.[code] i run a lot of games (like Unreal Tournament 3, Assassin's Creed 2...) at medium/high settings on my computer. but with GTA IV i must set ALL video settings to minium and i must play at 1024x768 to get a playable framerate in GTA performance test i get 25 fps at lowest settings, and 23 fps at highest settings.

I need to install Windows 7 on several computers. All the settings I do on one computer (desktop theme, registry changes, IE settings, taskbar size, desktop icons and shortcuts, quick launch toolbar etc.) I need to do all over again, by hand , on all the other computers. All are clean Windows 7 installs with nothing else but drivers for each hardware.

How would I go about changing the set up of my second drive (It will have Win 7 clean install on it) from Status "None", Type "Logical" to "System" and "Primary" also what should the setting be for the balance of the drive that will contain directories and etc? I have Easeus Partition Master and Partition Wizard but I never did a partition before.

I've set my C: drive to share all. I've set the security for all logons to Allow All and yet I do not see the directory Documents and Settings. What appears to be that which used to be under same is now under Users.... Is there no longer a Docs and Settings?

i have tried to do a factory reset on afriends hp mini 110. All seemed to be going to plan until i got the message "set up is preparing your account for the 1st time" The comp then goes to the welcome page before displaying the message " windows could not complete the installation.to install windows on this computer restart theinstallation"I have tried everything over the last couple of days but now think there may be a problem with the hard drive.

I have been trying to access my mouse settings to change the speed of my mouse and the touch sensitivity and every time i go to start > control panel > mouse and try to click on it nothing happens.So i did a little test to see if its actually trying to load the file or not and i open task manager and click on the mouse setting and i saw some processes opening and after about 2 sec it disappears so i guess the files are trying to load but it being intercepted by something or i could be completely wrong.After that i run my laptop on safe mode to see if i can access my mouse settings and no luck there because the mouse setting i was looking for wasn't there to begin with. i guess that's because of the safe mode that limits the files and driver and only allows necessary ones run.

Having a little trouble restoring my computer to factory settings. I dont know why but I cant seem to just do it through the advanced menu because it says i dont have a restore point. My problem is with my hp laptop running windows vista. laptop is hp pavilion dv6225us. OS was upgraded to windows 7 ultimate. was getting messages saying this version of windows 7 was not genuine so i tried to restore my laptop to factory settings. this failed. do not recovery disc; could not get recovery manager by pressing f11 at boot up. now at boot up i receive this message 'remove discs or media; press any key to restart. pressing any key nothing happens. how can i get to recovery partition to restore to factory settings.

I was wondering if it's actually possible to change my screen resolution to anything I want. I recently had a virus/malware attack on my system, removed it, but the system is damaged (Security center & updates cant be started etc) . I want to restore the comp using the acer feature "restore to factory settings". But I wonder, must I have a Win7-installation CD after the restore?? Because the computer came with preinstalled Windows 7 when I bought it. Keep in mind that it's a factory settings restore not a complete format c (i think) I've done a backup on hardrive "D" of my current system in case of anything going wrong. If a Cd is required, could you tell me another way to format the comp without buying the CD? My security center is damaged, so restore to point doesnt work either. If you got any solutions to how to start security center except setting it to "automatic" in services.msc (Since this doesnt work), please post 'em.
