I am trying to install a game, fm 2010 but I keep on getting this error: "The procedure entry point SteamUserStats could not be located in the dynamic link library steam_api.dll". I have followed all instructions as per other users errors but I still keep on getting the error?

View 5 Replies View Relatedi have been using windows 7 for a long time and it works great. but i have a problem. when i install steam it works perfect but when it tryes to update steam and it reach 20 % it says ERROR Steam.exe (main exception): ERROR: deleted steam.exe but the file is still there, so i try to run it as admin but there is no function that allows me to run steam or steam install as a admin. all other things i can run as a admin except steam i guess. and my UAC is not disabled its on recommended settings.

This is the error code: 8000FFFF. I tried multiple times but they don't download. Any clue why? Also when I tried to download fw 4.0 off MS.com, I had a "catastrophic error".
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince last weeks I've had multiple BSOD's and it seems to happen mostly while I play games through steam. Games like GTA4, The witcher 2 and Sleeping dogs cause the crashes while I for some reason can play Shogun Total war 2 for hours without problems. Games that are not connected to steam, like Battlefield 3, seems to work good as well. I don't have any cd/dvd tools like Daemon tools installed.

I have an HP machine that came with Vista. When I got this machine it had some major hardware problems these were fixed.I then had to replace th OS so I went with Win 7. The OS installed fine but I used my name during the install process that was ok because I was going to keep it. Then a very close friend of mine needed a computer because her old XP had died. I decided to give her the HP. I went into system and chaged the, computer name, and control panel, User's and changed that name both area's show that name. But when I go into my computer, C: drive, users my name is still there and I can not change it. The only solution I know might be to get into the regedit and change it there.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, I'm working on this .bat script.I'm using NOTEPAD to edit from command prompt.I ALT-F, ALT-S to save and ALT-F and ALT-X to exit. Then run my script.I ALT-F after almost every line I change (very anal). Make a few changes, exit NOTEPAD and rerun the script.After half a dozen changes/ tests, I go back into the .bat script and it is NOW back to what it practically was when I started. TWO whole sections of code (non- contiguous) are missing from it. Part of a FOR /F loop was cut off.I haven't had a computer error in a heck of a long time.

"The User Profile Service service failed the log in. User Profile cannot be loaded".
I was able to log in on an other user account and ran system restore and the account was repaired.
Any ideas on what happened?
Running Win 7 Ultimate RTM from Technet.
The last program that I was messing with was VMware Workstation.
I installed Windows 7 64bit onto RAID 0+1 and XP on separate SATA drive. However, I now realise I re-formatted XP drive "out of sequence" in so much as I didn't follow the correct procedure to alter the boot sequence prior to re-format.
I can no longer boot into Windows 7, see following
The bios recognises the RAID setup - apologies for the poor quality.
I have tried running the startup & repair via install DVD, several times, but I keep getting the messsage that setup & repair did not detect any problems.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy son's account was limited, but after I installed Steam for him, he had to use "Run as" and then get me to enter my Admin account details so that he could run it. This was getting tedious so I changed his account to an Admin type. Is there a way to put his account back to Limited (Family Safety will then work again) and still run Steam without using "Run as" and me entering details every time?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently built a PC in August for the first time and everything was working great until a few months ago. I believe the problems started when I flashed my Asus P8Z68-V motherboard with a BIOS from a different model. I finally discovered my error and flashed my BIOS to a correct version thinking this would stop the BSODs. It did not and the BSODs continue only when installing certain games on Steam and every time I "Verify Integrity of Cache", no matter what the game is. Other than these two scenarios my computer seems to run fine. I have gone through and updated all the drivers provided on the Asus product page. I also have the WHQL drivers for my nVidia GTX 570 and all the Z68 chipset drivers. I really don't know what else I can or should update as far as drivers are concerned.

The computer and its parts are all relatively new, some parts up to a year old. All drivers are up to date, as far as im aware. I think the bsod code was something lik 0x000000124. Any idea what caused it ? Driver or hardware related?

View 6 Replies View Relatedthis is actually a fairly common problem for people right now apparently, but the steam forums aren't any help thought I might pick a few brains here.The first time you start steam the log in always fails.The second time you start steam it logs in just fine. This appears to happen regardless of if it's set to start with windows or not. I've already played with most the network or environment variables that could be causing it. Just looking for other ideas at this point.

We are running an exchange 2003 server, with windows 7 machines (not ideal I know).
That aside, I am getting a scripting error when opening emails from a single user. This error ONLY appears on one users computer.So to clarify, this issue only pops up on one users computer, and only occurs when opening an email (even in preview) from another single user.
I have so far:
- Run a repair of office 2010 on the computer that displays the scripting error.
- Removed email signature from the senders computer, in case of problematic fonts (Even though to other users on the domain, this error does not occur when opening emails from this same sender.)

I think I may have accidentally deleted some fonts, but I have no idea how.More information in these screenshots.I tried using System Restore to restoringly restore a previous restore point, but it failed and asked me to try again. When I tried again all restore points had been deleted. Isn't that just awesome?Anyway, I think re-installing all fonts might fix this. So I would like to know where I can download all default Windows 7 fonts.

I've attached the performance monitor report along with your Utility tool report.The operating system is a Windows 7 Ultimate on 64 bits, and the entire hardware is fairly new ( <2 months old ).

I am a little annoyed that after buying 2 games from EB Games today, Aliens V's Predator and Apox, they both need "Steam" to install properly. I have installed steam and it tells me that i have no internet connection. I have a wireless internet connection and steam does not pick it up at all. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, i have down loaded the latest steam from the web site and i still get the same problem.
